FAST-FIX JEWELRY & WATCH REPAIRS

Performed the service within an hour from when I dropped off the watch. Fast service and smooth transaction.

I didn't have any problem with them. They worked quickly and the watch works. I am very happy with them.

I brought several jewelry pieces that needed repair to Fast Fix in the Pentagon City mall. I only had them repair a couple of items, rather than all, because their prices were so high. It cost me $29.00 for them to do two very minor repairs on inexpensive costume jewelry (i.e., they didn't have to use high-quality, high-cost gold or other such materials). They fixed a broken clasp on a necklace and added a new fish-hook style back to 1 earring. I was going to have them re-string my good pearl necklace that had fallen apart, but their shockingly high estimate of $135 stopped me. Although a good necklace with sentimental value, I did not want to spend as much to repair the necklace as I could to buy a new nice pearl necklace. I'm glad I waited, because I subsequently discovered Werner Jewelers on Columbia Pike in Arlington, and they re-strung my pearls and also performed a couple of minor fixes to other pieces of jewelry, all for only $54.00 total! Fast Fix's pros: the location is convenient given that it's in the mall and metro-accessible; they accomplished the work quickly; they replaced the earring back right away when I pointed out that they had attached the wrong style; overall the quality was decent. However, given their exorbitantly high prices, I would not use them again unless I was desperate for a very fast repair. With them, I suppose you pay for speed and convenience.

We did have the battery replaced in one of the watches, for $24.95. It comes with a warranty card, good for 3 years, at any of the FAST-FIX locations. So it might turn out to have been an OK price, but I will never set foot in another FAST-FIX for any reason (they also do engraving, jewelry replacement, etc.)---unless it's to cash in on the 3 year warranty on the battery.
