"After investigating your carpet we concluded that since it had been many years since you had cleaned your house you had a lot of dust built up. Moths are highly attracted to dusty wool. We sent you an email with photos and two video links showing exact damages to carpets just like yours, that were done by MOTHS. Many people have experienced this same type of damage to there wool carpets. Also, being that the vacuum we used was a back pack suction only vacuum that did not have a turning brush on it. We could not be responsible for your damages. If you would like we will be happy to send a carpet specialist to your home for conformation in regards to this issues."
The cleaning was good overall, but four people in a 1500 sq.ft. house is just too many and inefficient. I expressed this concern over the phone before the work was performed. In addition, despite my house's small size, the cleaners were not able to finish all the rooms. I felt that because of the crowding issue, one woman lingered an inordinate amount of time upstairs, perhaps to stay out of the others' way.
"[member name removed], Each lady that was sent to your home was cleaning in different locations, not near each other. These coupons are not enough time to cover your whole house. This coupon is to be able to sample our service in just a few rooms. We discussed this before coming out to your house. We have been doing business this way for 15 years. It is a very efficient way of cleaning. It actually may have taken less time than sending one person, because putting a lady in one area such as in the kitchen every house makes them more efficient. Thank you for your business."
Stephanie came to my house well within the appointment window and examined the floor, matching the grout color to a color wheel so she could make sure to get the proper grout. Work began immediately while she went on a supply run. An examination of the two broken tiles revealed that the prior installer had not properly smoothed the adhesive, resulting in an uneven floor and stress. Estate Cleaning smoothed and leveled the adhesive, replaced the grout, and caulked the area between the tiles and the tub, door, and toilet. In short, they went far above and beyond the job and did so quickly and at a great price.
Most importantly, my wife was ecstatic with the way the floor looked and the repaired tiles were indistinguishable from the rest of the floor when the job was complete.
I plan to use Estate Cleaning for further handyman work when the need arises - I couldn't be happier with the service.
First, I want to say Estate Cleaning was flexible when I needed to reschedule my cleaning. My sons (three 20 somethings) were living in my house) for almost a year, while I was caring for my ill husband at an assisted living facility. Unfortunately, they never heard of sponges & scrubbing! Anyway, the house was desperately in need of a total top-to-bottom cleaning.
Two ladies arrived when I was told they would. They brought all of their own supplies and got busy. I had given Stephanie, the owner, a list of priority items to complete (bathrooms & kitchen) should they not have time to complete everything. Not only were they able to complete the rooms that needed the most work, they made every room spotless! I am so impressed with the work these hard-working ladies did, I am going to talk to Stephanie about having Estate Cleaning come to my house every couple of weeks to take care of my new home.
I had previously had a company come in every 2 weeks and after about 3 times, I stopped the service. The workers chatted with each other constantly instead of working separately. That did not happen with Estate Cleaning while I was there. Also, they were left alone for hours in the empty house and from the results worked diligently to complete the job.
Again - thanks for a job well done!
"We want to thank you for your purchase. I appreciate you taking the time to express your experience. We look forward to serving you in the future."
My point is that I don't have sufficient confidence to have them in my home without supervision. (i.e. with the owner ... or with the English speaking lady)
The owner left half way through the job, though, which was ok, and there was a mix up wrt to the payment amount that was resolved later. Also no invoice was provided at the time for services rendered.
2nd visit was not well at all. Owner sent her husband out to provide some assistance with stairs. My suggestion is that if you decide to hire him make sure that you can accommodate someone that has an urge to smoke and have enough patience to watch someone with a cell phone pressed between his shoulder and ear while he works.
I had to challenge him to get an estimate of his time and was very upset with him after he left my place. I asked him to leave. He was very decent person and I felt bad for doing so. My greater problem was in the conversation that I had with the owner. She justified and justified for her husband. she did offer to send him back out and after I initially hesitated to do so she insisted and I relented .. she then declined. It was a very tiring conversation when my initial desire was to simply provide feedback.
On the third visit, 3 ladies arrived none of them speaking English so I could not communicate with them. the 4th lady struggled parking the car. Once the 4th lady arrived they were able to start. I wanted them to concentrate on floors and put in cabinet liner.
My impression is that 3 of them worked hard for 4 hours and that 1 of them didn't work that hard for at least part of the time. She spent a considerable amount of time on my top marble floor and marble staircase. Yet it was still dirty after the work. I suspect that she didn't clean out her sponge frequently enough with fresh water. This evening I went to get a sponge and put nothing but water in it and it cleaned up well.
In addition I gave the ladies some Tri-Sodium-Phosphate to use with water for marble cleaning. There is supposed to be a "Pinch" they used the entire box of cleaning compound which caused a film to form on the stone which made it much much more difficult to clean than necessary.
Finally, I asked for a statement prior to final payment. Upon completion of cleaning services, not only was there no statement but the person tasked with collecting payment from me did not know how much to charge and the owner was not available to receive either of our phone calls.
I let the lady know that I'd send a check by mail upon receipt of statement. I also wanted to provide some feedback prior to making my payment.
Shortly after that I received a text message and phone call follow up where the owner insisted that one of her ladies come by and pick a check up from me this evening. She provided me with an e-mail that accounted for the time, but it was not a professional invoice. I had to change my dinner plans to accommodate her and I rushed back to the apartment to meet her girl. I had sent her a text message in advance asking for 15 minutes extra and it was responded to about 10 minutes prior to the arrival of her lady.
Once I got home I inspected the job more carefully and sent her a text message wrt my dissatisfaction of SOME of the work. She justified the poor performance by stating the following: "They ran out of time." Which really upset me because I watched the girl WHILE she was cleaning and was unhappy with her performance even then but I didn't want to be rude to her.
Another excuse the owner made: "They didn't even have lunch" Ha ... but they arrived at 2 p.m. and left at 6:00 pm for $600.00 charge. I'm supposed to feel guilty because they didn't eat lunch before they arrived 2 hours after lunchtime? And that's to justify poor service by one of her ladies for at least part of the time but not the other three?
And I didn't have lunch either.
Another excuse the owner made: "What do you want me to do about it at 9:30 pm?"
Absolutely Nothing! I'm done with Estate Cleaning and can't wait until the next crew comes in to clean up after you.
Blame the customer and try to make them feel guilty for the mediocre service provided. I like her ladies but I am done listening to the owner justify poor or mediocre service.
If you get their service for $25.00 per hour and can provide some supervision ... hire them .. but at $37.50 get a more professional cleaning company.
The owner and her husband are not welcome in my home.
Follow up after Owner's response: 1) I got no discount on services. I paid someone for grouting my stairs that did not actually grout the stairs. He proposed commenicing stair grouting significantly after work hours were over because he spent too much time blabbing on his cell phone and on my balcony smoking when he should have been working productively 2) It is deceitful to claim that I verbally abused anyone. I told the owner to F off in an IM after the labor was done when she was abusing me over the payment. 3) I asked to mail payment upon receipt of invoice. Owner would not accept payment by mail and insisted that her worker come to my unit to pick up a check. 4) I never had 6 contractors in my home at once and provided strict instruction on multiple occasions to the gentlman attempting to prep the marble staircase for grout to let me know when he wants to stop staircase trafic and I'll have people use the outside stairs. He claimed it was ok. Finally when the lady that was cleaning the stairs was on them, there weren't as many contractors going up and down the stairs as there were cleaning ladies going up and down the stairs. Regardless, three of the ladies did an excellent job and one did a poor job.
Finally, I did not start the clock when 3 women were in my home because none of them could understand English and ZERO of them could understand my cleaning instructions. I INSISTED that the clock only start once I have at least ONE english speaking person that I can provide instructions to.
I understand that parking might be a challenge, but the building concierge resolves that by providing service companies access to Contractor parking.
5) didn't need me to do itspent so muc
Professionalism Grade and Overall Grade changed to F because the owner was dishonest in her response to my review.
I do not think this company should be licensed for the trade due to the lack of honesty and integrity of the owner.
"[member name removed], We will not tolerate verbal abuse from anyone. You were given invoices by email before making your final payment. You requested that we meet at 9pm for payment, not us. Then when the time came you wanted to extend it. I was not able to reach the lady at 8:30pm to change the arrangement. You knew how much was owed upon completion of the work. All work is suppossed to be COD. I made an exception being you had another appointment scheduled with us. We did an Excellent Job for you. You even said your house had never been that clean before. The tile job was removing glue from 1/16th of an inch space and I new it would not be an easy or a fast job. Being that you were so ANGRY, you also insisted that you pay such a little amount that it wasn't going to pay the expenses it cost to come to your house. So it was best for you to find someone that you could afford to do the grouting. You should consider that atleast 6 people where going up and down the stairs constantly while he was trying to work on them. He removed all that glue with a razor blade. It was very hard to do, time consuming. Had he not done it right grout would not stay in the small space. I had also told you that I do not want the ladies using TSP. This is not a chemical they are familiar with. You changed my instructions to them. Also, you had atleast 6 construction workers in the condo during all of the cleaning/tile times who were going up and down the stairs constantly. Our hours of operation are from 8am to 4pm. We service 3 to 8 homes a day with one crew. It is regular practice to arrive at a job at 1 or 2pm with 5 employess to do the job. You live in a high rise building (Penthouse) there is limited parking. You did not start paying until all crew members were on the job and explained what to do. We stayed at your home til after 6pm to try and complete your cleaning project. If something was missed it was not intentional and you didn't pay for it. Did you forget that you had other workers in the unit after the work was complete. I gave you several hundreds off your bill and you are still not satisfied. Im sure that I would have even done more just to make you happy, but I could not tolerate your verbal abused !!"
"[removed name], We only give you the amount of time purchased unless otherwise stated at the time of booking, that extra time is needed. If additional time is needed there is a charge for it. Im sorry there was enough time to complete your project. I think when people purchase the $99 deal they lose focus that this is basically to see how we clean. Four hours generally doesn't get your whole house deep cleaned. We have to skip some of the details to get out the door in the minimal time you purchased. Thank you."
The scheduler Stephanie called to ask if I wanted to extend the time and how much it would cost. I felt a bit pressured from her so I chose to decline since it would cost more money for the extra hour than I paid for the deal. So floor wasn't cleaned. Everything was cleaned well enough. I had tried another company previously that I felt did a better overall job.
"[member name removed] You were explained how our coupon works. I asked you to prioritize because it is not enough time if you just get your house cleaned occassionaly. We clean what you tell us to and if it runs out of time we have to stop because another client is exspecting us at there home within a time line. These coupons are already discounted. We always aim to make the client happy but we can't run over the time alotted usless we make addtional time paid arrangements. These coupons are to sample a small portion of your home to see we do a good job! Hoping you will hire us on a regular basis or future use. Thank you for you business."
I'd would highly recommend Stephanie and her team. She was very responsive to my requirements and my timeline. She followed up throughout the job. She also honored a "Angie's List" coupon despite my insistence that it was a really big job. She suggested that I provide the extra money to her team via tips.
"[Member name removed], Thank you for sharing your experience with our service. If you think there is anything we can do to be more responsive to your needs please let us know. Also, If you recommend us to a friend we offer a free gift to you. Thank you for your time."
"Dear [removed member's name], We discussed your options for cleaning before we came out to clean. If you had a special need we would have been happy to address it. We explained how much time you had and if you would like to prioritize your cleaning needs. With these special offers sometimes its not enough time to fit all of your needs. That's why we go over the coupon ahead of time to make sure you understand the conditions. So you will have additional options if needed. We thank you for your business."
"Awesome, we are so happy you were pleased !! Thank you for your business."
"We thank you kindly for taking the time to fill out Angie's List survey. Thank you for your business."

"Dear Member, I personally called you to set up your cleaning date, at that time I went over the $99 coupon explaining it to you in detail. I also gave you a discount on the additional cleaning time that was needed to complete your house cleaning needs. Deep Cleaning is a much longer process than a maid service. Thank you for your business."
"[member name removed], We thank you for taking the time to fill out the survey. I want to thank you for your business and kind words."
"[Member name removed], Thank you for your continued business over the years. We wish you well on your move."
