 + 5 moreThe project went very well, indeed. We were lucky that the house was unoccupied so time was not a critical issue, as Mr. Padgett is a one man operation. He is, however, a master of all the skills necessary to accomplish a project this extensive. Over the course of a year, we consulted on layout, drew up plans, and visited regularly to monitor the progress of the project. There were never any problems, just minor questions from time to time. We were pleased to hear from our HVAC contractor that their staff was highly impressed by the quality of Mr. Padgett's work, which they saw close up at various stages of the project. The biggest problem was probably the leaking of the new heating system, but Mr. Padgett made sure the contractor came back and fixed it; this took a couple of visits.
Description of Work: Mr. Padgett was hired to finish an unfinished attic into 2 bedrooms and a bath, and remodel a kitchen. He drew up the plans in consultation with an architect. He acquired all the lumber and supplies. He performed all the carpentry, drywall, painting, and finishing, and did some of the plumbing and electrical as well. He supervised the HVAC Contractor in the installation of new A/C throughout the house, and the expansion and upgrading of the heating system. He supervised the plumber and electrician as needed. He also accompanied me to kitchen and bath vendors to provide his expert consultation on the purchase of fixtures, and did the comparison shopping needed to get the best price.
