House Cleaning
I purchased a Living social deal for 3 hours of deep cleaning. According to the instructions on the voucher I filled out their online form on a Sunday. The form said I would hear from them in 4 business days. Friday evening I called (voicemail) and emailed them to inquire as to when I could schedule a cleaning. I heard nothing back until the following Wednesday when I received an email "Reminder" that I had a cleaning scheduled the next day at 12:30 and that there was a 48 hour cancellation fee of 40 dollars. This was not previously scheduled and a 48 hour fee when you only give less than 24 hours notice of the appointment is unacceptable. Although it was extremely inconvenient for me to arrange to be home for the cleaning (since I didn't know the company I was not going to just let them in with no one home) I made it work.
They arrived early and they reminded me that since there was 2 of them it would be only 1.5 hours for the cleaning (2x1.5=3 hours). That was expected from the fine print on the voucher. I asked them to work on the bathrooms (3) and vacuum the floors in the house. They looked at me and said "in 1.5 hours?" While they have done a nice job, I expected more from the advertisement of "3 hours deep cleaning."
Overall since they were very non-communicative in scheduling, I cannot recommend this service.

House Cleaning
They arrived late. As I mentioned above, they broke some things. And they followed up with a horrible customer service.

"Client is frugal and looking for something and pay nothing. We are maids, cleaning; we are not power houses breaking off screws of handles? That is a purely ridiculous accusation. We did not break this. It was either already broken or on it's way to breaking. Cleaning can not pull out screws?? What kind of cleaning can cause this? Client claims we placed something heavy on top of her husband's glasses that was located on a side table. What could we possibly put on the glasses that is already on a table that would crush his glasses?? The only thing heavy enough to do such damage would be to put the vacuum on it. I don't think maids would lift a vacuum to place it on glasses, balanced on top of a table to boot? She is asking for her tip money back? I can not ask the maids to give back a "tip", hence the term "tip". She paid $65 and she got her home cleaned. Now she is looking for a free handout. We did the work, and also spent an additional 1 hour with 3 maids. That is worth $100 at a special rate. I guess we are even then."
