This was a bit of a challenge because we wanted our porch and garage lights to come on at varying intervals, but we didn't want to change our light fixtures. Ernie did some research on the internet to come up with some options. Finally it was determined that switch timers would meet our needs. He purchased and he installed them, taking into account our aesthetics.
