CONTE'S BICYCLE & FITNESS EQUIPMENT

My husband is an avid cyclist and really enjoys working with them. They do routine maintenance and have kept our bikes in great condition. You can end up spending a lot of money on bicycle maintenance that isn't necessary, so you have to let them know what you are looking to have done.

They have a very good customer service and are very good at bike repair. They mechanics are really nice and they know their work very well. They also have a great selection of gear and clothing. They are very understanding and serve based on each bikers need. The owner is also wonderful and always available if I need to see her.

I arrived with my bike at opening and quickly got changed and had my bike set up on their trainer. I started working with one young guy but ended up working with Seth who I much preferred (and who has since moved to their Bethesda location). He went through all of the basic fitting measurements and ended up adjusting my cleats, recommending insoles, a new stem, a new seatpost and saddle (and new positions for both) and repositioning of my shifters. All of this made a huge difference in ridability and comfort. Not only Seth, but Rob (mechanic) was also very friendly and helpful, truing my front wheel and wrapping my bars with new tape at no additional charge. I have since been back multiple times (EXCLUSIVELY to the Bethesda store). Seth has helped me get my fit dialed in and Rob has helped enormously to keep my bike running smoothly. Both of these guys deserve special recognition. I have, however, since had bad experiences at the Arlington store especially with the snotty young salesman who started my fit back in January ("Come and see me when you want a REAL bike..."). I wouldn't buy another thing from Arlington if not for Rob. The Bethesda store, though has become like a second home. I'd definitely recommend them even if you (like me) can't afford their higher-end offerings. The service is excellent and their nutrition and accessories are great. Not to mention the weekly rides!

Super service. On line reservation process is easy and really streamlines the process. You select a pick-up date and time and drop you bike 48 hrs. prior. Though they advertise it requires 48 hrs., this bike was ready the next night. It looks brand new and is a smooth ride.
