I brought my car to Baird Automotive after having concerns about poor work at the BMW Fairfax dealer. I wanted a shop with experience working on European cars. They found problems the dealer had missed and determined I did not need a $1200 repair the dealer claimed as critical. I was happy with the work and the pricing.

Joey Baird is, without a doubt, the best and I have been using him for over 15 years. He is the best. I drop it off the night before and pick it up the next day. I have know them, particularly Joey and Fred for years. They are terrific.

He's fantastic. The thing I like the best about him is that he carefully explains everything. He tells you what is important and needs to be taken care of immediately, but also tells you the things that need to be fixed but aren't as urgent. He's very good about explaining those types of things and offers great customer service.

I highly recommend them. They won’t be the cheapest place around but their price goes with their quality. They would never do work that is not needed. They check out your car to a great extent.

Most recently, we had a head gasket go out. We had to have an extensive repair. They also found rusted supports for the engine and they replaced these as well.

They did a great job. They are great people and great mechanics. Anything that they say my car needs I would believe and they would tell you if it does not need something.

When I took my car here they said everything looks fine and didn't try to up-sell me on anything.

Baird Automotive replaced my clutch assembly in my 2002 Toyota Solara for over $1,200 in July 2010. My car clutch is now slipping again, less than 3 years and 12,000 miles after replacement. I have always driven stick shift vehicles (over 40 years) and this is
clearly the first time a new clutch has started to slip before 50,000 miles. In my view, the fact that this clutch started to slip close to about 12,000 miles and less than 3 years after installation means that the work and/or the parts were poor quality. I can't tell which or if both. When I brought it back to them in early June 2013, they took no responsibility since their 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty was past. While they have no legal responsibility to repair this problem at low cost (no profit on this round), I feel that they have an ethical one since clearly the parts and/or the labor was faulty for the clutch to fail so soon. I have since brought the car to another repair shop which agreed to replace the clutch for less than Baird’s discounted price to me of mid-$900. Obviously I recommend against using Baird for anything to do with clutch or transmission repairs.

"Unfortunatly there is warranty times, with a 1 year warranty and the car coming back in in THREE years, its very difficult to honor a warranty. I did offer to do the replacement job at a discounted rate,,,, I have 99%good reviews, and I take this very seriously,"

I took my car to Baird Auto because the heat was not working as it should. It would blow cold air then get hot, then cold again. I was also having to add coolant to the car weekly with no leak that I could find. I ask them to check the head gasket because it seemed a likely culprit when you lose coolant and dont see a leak. They told me the head gasket was fine and i probably just needed a water pump and timing chain. I knew that the car had the appropriate milage for that work to be done so let them do it. The problems continued and in Feb I ended up spending $1600.00 to have Page Honda replace a head gasket, that was obviously the problem, but was a problem that Baird had not bothered to take the time to check. Too bad thyey would have made more money, and i would have saved a few dollars on labor having the head gasket done at the same time as the timing chain. Will not go back and will not send anyone else!

"Wow.... first I heard anything about this... Its always difficult diagnosing issues that don't exist at the time of testing, I completely stand behind my work and if I was notified about this issue, I would have taken care of it... Sorry for you incovience"

After getting an oil change from a national chain store, I was advised that I needed several repairs. I knew I needed front brakes, but was surprised that they also wanted to change out my rear shocks and struts. I had not noticed any problem with the vehicle's ride. I politely declined their offer to repair my vehicle and took it over to Baird. Unfortunately, you have to take the chain store's opinion with a grain of salt.
I left the vehicle with Baird in the morning and walked over to Clarendon metro and on to work. A few hours later, they called to tell me that I did need front brakes, but they could find no indication that my shocks or struts were in need of repair. They quoted a price of $395 for the complete brake job (new rotors and pads). The price was a bit higher than I was expecting, but this is my first van, and I have been told that they tend to be a bit more expensive to repair than most run of the mill sedans. Joey explained the price in detail and I consented to the work.
They phoned again at 5:30 and said my van was ready to go. I went by the shop, paid the bill, and was on my way. I could feel the difference as soon as I hit my first red light. The brakes worked perfectly. No noise, no wobble, no problem.
I have been a loyal Baird customer for about 8 years now. For as long as they exist, I will go nowhere else. Some could argue that their prices are a bit higher than other shops, but they always fix things right the 1st time and have never tried to sell my anything I didn't actually need. Baird does not do state inspections, so they don't have the classic conflict of interest inherent in so many shops. You get what you need and you get what you pay for. Baird Automotive is the real deal.

Baird, in an effort to save me money, first tried a non-Saab produced DIC module. That DIC was defective and the next day, they replaced it with a Saab-manufactured DIC (which is more expensive) at no cost to me even though I offered to pay the difference in the part. I would highly recommend Baird automotive for the quality of their service.

I was having problem with my car overheating. I made an appointment and scheduled what I thought might be only thermostat replacement. After Joey and his staff took a look at my car and determined it was much worse than I had thought. Joey provided me an estimate of what he determined might be what had to be done. A definite solution and then another option that might also need to be done and a good estimate of what the cost might be if no other problems surfaced. I also requested that an oil change be done as well just to keep with my service schedule. I had to leave the car overnight so that the Baird Team could do the work the next day. I called on the evening of the day service was performed and was given the final bill total which was darn close to what Joey had determined. Even though the cost was approximately $1600.00 the work was performed to my expectations and definitely on time. Thanks to Joey and his team my car is back running again and I can drive to work without freezing until the car warms up and not worry about the engine overheating. Great Job Guys!!!! Thanks to a grateful customer. Keith

My 1998 Buick LeSabre's heating and air conditioning had been a problem for years. It has only 57,000 miles on it, but has been abused by dealerships. A local dealer "repaired" it for $600. Three days later, when it broke down, they wanted another $1800! The AC still didn't work, and for good measure, the dealership had also damaged the alternator, so the battery wouldn't recharge. I considered junking the car because repairs would cost more than it was worth. Before junking the Buick, however, I decided to try Baird Auto. These guys were a godsend. They were totally professional auto mechanics, and as honest as the day is long. Baird fixed everything on my car, and the bill came to under $1000. Best of all: no more problems. I will be keeping the Buick for many more years, and will be having all my auto service done at Baird.
