The technician insisted that garbage disposals have gotten much more expensive recently when I questioned the charge.  He also told me that the clock was running and I was using up expensive time while deciding whether to proceed with the install.  He installed a Badger 5 - which costs under $100.  (I wasn't at home at the time - I was on the phone with him and felt pressured to move ahead with the install - a move I now sorely regret.)  The install went well, but I was charged far too much for the service and I was lied to about the cost of the disposal.  I was also pressured in a very unprofessional manner.  A subsequent call to the owner of the business got me a small refund and much more unprofessional talk.  I have no idea how these folks stay in business - they must prey on unsuspecting and elderly customers.  Shame on them.

He installed a Badger 5, which he told me  costs $400 or more.  (I told him that I had purchased an excellent garbage disposal in another home about 6 years ago for about $100 - but he swore they had gotten much more expensive.)  He also charged me $189 dollars for a service call.  My total bill was $679.  When I told him repeatedly  that I had replaced a garbage disposal for closer to $300 in the past, he told me that times have changed.  I'll say.
I was so upset that I called to speak with the owner.  He was very dismissive of the installer and said he has to keep working with him because it is hard to get good help.  He talked on and on about how hard it is for him to make a living.  I did not need or want to hear his story.  I wanted him to know that he was ripping me off and that his employee had totally misled me about the price of the garbage disposal.  The owner also insisted that it cost a lot.  I told him that I was looking at the Badger 5 on the Home Depot website for $80.  He said that was for a purchase of 3 or more.  He was wrong.  He argued in the face of cold, hard facts, and told me again that he had 9 children and was trying to make a living.  I don't believe that in my 58 years I have ever encountered anyone more unprofessional.
We finally got the overall bill down from $679 to $450, but I remain very upset and I know I paid much more than I should have.
This is a company that you should avoid at all costs.  They answered the phone quickly and sent someone out immediately, but that is the ONLY thing they got right.  They also go by the name "The Arlington Plumbing Group."
I would not use this company again.

Arlington is  just fantastic and extremely professional.  They are a great company to work with.  They are totally trustworthy and charge an appropriate amount.

The work was less than satisfactory. I didn t push him on it, but he didn t tell me it was going be 600 dollars for the total job. The color didn t match either. I was not pleased with the work and I would not use them again. I feel that they could have been more thorough and professional.

OVERALL, WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE AND THE FAST RESPONSE THAT WE RECEIVED FROM ARLINGTON PLUMBING. THEY CAME OUT ASAP, WITH IN 24 HOURS OF A LEAK IN OUR BASEMENT. THE REPAIR MAN WAS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL.
