Andy remodeled our basement last year and our bathroom this year, and did outstanding work both times. This type of work is as much an art as it is a craft - he presented different options in planning the job and as the job progressed. He put a small service area behind our washer and dryer which not only hides the ductwork and plumbing, but gives access when needed. The HVAC unit was enclosed and has plenty of room for servicing. Work in the bathroom was very detailed and includes a nice recessed niche in the wall above the tub. We especially appreciated that he kept us informed as to when workers would show up or if they couldn't make it. A+!

Dan did a fine job with getting all the design details handled and taking the time to get everything done to our wishes. Our bathroom was taken down to the studs, and rebuilt from top to bottom. The project took a little bit longer than was originally expected, which was more of a supplier issue than anything that was Dan's fault. We would rather have the job done right, and not rushed than to slap everything together to meet an arbitrary deadline. When issues arose, as they always will, Dan was quick to explain the options and got everything resolved to our satisfaction.

They were very creative. They got the job done, on budget.

Andy and Daniel did a fantastic job, start to finish. Andy was very helpful with the design and layout of the addition and remodel, bringing his extensive experience and ideas for consideration. Given the small space - we needed all of the ideas we could get! They were very patient with us (me) as I struggled to make certain decisions. And then, after waiting 8 weeks the kitchen cabinets came in the wrong shade - they were steadfast advocates - helping to resolve the issue with a minimum of disruption. We absolutely love our home - it is beautiful and unique and fits us perfectly! I credit Andy and Daniel - I don't think we would have wound up here without them.

Their services were outstanding! They were helpful to us in the design and problem solving. They were patient, got encouraging when we had difficulty making decisions. Andy had great ideas for creating useful space in a very small house. We are thrilled!

Andy and Daniel did a fantastic job. They were very professional, and kept us in the loop at every step of the process. We are so pleased that we went with AJ Building services. We had a terrific experience with them! We interviewed several contractors, but liked the idea of going with a smaller, family owned company. Andy Jelonek and Daniel Sanders are both very hands on, and performed a great deal of the work themselves. When they did use subcontractors, they supervised the work very closely and had exacting standards, not allowing short cuts that other contractors might allow. They were very sensitive to our schedules and considerate of the fact that we were living in the house during the work (a fact that likely made their jobs harder, but they never pressured us to move out and incur extra expenses). Living through a renovation while you're working full time is a challenge, and Andy and Daniel kept us informed of important developments and made sure they were available to meet with us at times that were convenient to us. They also kept a tight schedule; this was a massive job and they finished it in a very reasonable amount of time. We never had to wonder about the progress and we never felt that there were any big breaks in the action. We got a lot of personal attention, had questions answered quickly, and saw progress on the house every day. Equally important to us, Andy and Daniel are honest, ethical, and straightforward. They lived up to both the spirit and the letter of our contract and responded quickly to the inevitable issues that crop up during a project of this size. It would be hard to overstate the importance of this when you are embarking on a project of this scope and expense. They didn't just want to do the minimum required; they wanted to make sure that we were happy with the project and with the progress throughout. Finally, we are thrilled with the finished product! Their work is extremely high quality. They did such a lovely job and they completely transformed our house. We will enthusiastically recommend them to anyone looking to do large or small projects.

Their bid seemed reasonable, not too high, not the lowest one we received, but reasonable. AJ had an architect draw up the plans after discussing what we wanted in detail, and obtained all of the permits. They started work within a month, and overcame a couple of problems with inspectors/foundations. Andy hired all of the subcontractors, ie concrete guys, and was familiar with their work. The subs came on time and did a good job at their portion of the work. Andy checked on progress, or worked on the detailed work himself, just about every day. He has great attention to detail. He or his partner Dan were here to supervise or work on the addition all the time, and he kept us notified of progress or problems. All of the people we met at AJ Building Services are reliable and conscientious. They did a great job, on time and a couple thousand dollars under budget, and we are very happy with our sunroom. We recommend AJ Buidling Services without reservation.

Andy and Dan were prompt, worked quickly and professionally and kept me fully informed of the progress of the two week long project. All their judgment calls were right on the mark. They also coordinated their work with my roofer who installed a new copper roof on the cupola and clad the newly restored walls of the cupola with copper. I would not hesitate to rely on AJ again for future projects.

I found AJ Building Services through a friend who had their kitchen totally redone by them. I'd seen the kitchen and loved it so I had them come in and estimate the job. Amongst the numerous estimates I received on this project they were very reasonable, there were others that came in very low (scary) and some were higher. The main difference was Andy's vast experience and knowledge of remodeling and layouts. Of all the proposals AJ's was the most simple and efficient. There were many factors (plumbing, structural) that had to be considered when designing this bathroom and I didn't want the added expense of hiring an architect. They started with completely insulating the area off from the rest of the basement. I never had a problem with dust or anything. They kept the job site completely clean throughout the entire project. I thought this was a plus and not like any of my prior dealings with remodeling. The job was estimated to take 3 weeks and was completed in 2! This was another pleasant surprise. All the estimates for the job ranged from 3-4 weeks! This is a family run business with Andy and his-son-law. It was nice to have at least one of them on the job every day to completion. They were very punctual and explained every phase to me before it was commenced. Any questions or concerns I had were answered and handled immediately. As for the quality, I couldn't be happier! The tile work in the shower and floor is perfect, exactly as I envisioned it. The layout is beyond what I ever thought I could achieved with the space I had. I can actually move around and have plenty of space, I have no idea how they did it but its amazing! They even installed some nice built-in shelves and cabinets for towels and supplies. There were very little issues that needed to be addressed in the end and they did a thorough walk through with me and handled the couple items on the list very fast. They warranty their work and will come back if you have any issues. They were going to hang a mirror that I had bought but didn't end up getting it in till after work was done (my fault) and they still came back and hung the mirror for me, and didn't charge me (or even let me pay them lol). I will definitely use them again.

Great price! Built about 12' of privacy fence with a gate on the side of my house. Took 1 day. Gate works great! Functional. Looks clean and straight. Happy with result and exceptional job. These guys really do it all.

AJ Building Services did a fabulous job in building our screen porch. Our deck was old and in need of repair so we decided it was about time we had a screen porch built. Andy came in with a reasonable bid and a willingness to work with us on design and the use of new and innovative products. All through the building process Andy and his crew kept us informed, they were punctual, kept the work site in a orderly manner. If we had any questions or concerns they were prompt to answer; was always ready when the inspector arrived. It was a pleasure working with Andy and his crew, always helpful and knowledgable of new products. With AJ Building Services foresight we were able to add a new deck surrounding the porch that fit into the architecture perfectly. With no hesitation we would defiantly use AJ Building Services again, it was great experience.

We used AJ Builders on our screen porch project so we gave them opportunity to bid on the retaining wall. They came with with another good bid and was able to start the project within a responsible time. The work took a week, they were there every day, even though we had an exceptionally hot spring. They had to build around existing steps and executed it beautifully. I let my grandkids run across the top to check out the stability and it held up extremely well, lol! It's now been 7 months and we have since had extreme weather, 12" of rain in one-day plus an earthquake and a hurricane and the wall is still in great shape. I think it's here to stay.
