The service was outstanding, really blown away by their service. Came within hours of calling. Determined the sub pump installed wasn't adequate to handle the flooding that was going on.

All Evergreen employees were professional and able to answer many questions about our issues and the installation. We were very happy with their service.

I received 2 quotes from 2 contractors for this work. Evergreen was very punctual, always on time or at least reasonable. Every person interacted with was professional. The sales person came to the house and gave a quote that day. I went to the other company who had already been out and they sent their quote, it was cheaper than Evergreen. I discussed this competitive quote with Evergreen and we worked out some details, I was assured that the job would be done right ,and since the 25 year warranty is reassuring I went with Evergreen. I think in the long run I made the best choice since the 25 year warranty is awesome and the other cheaper company had only a 1 yr warranty, however I would not recommend Evergreen unless you plan on checking on all their work personally. I was very disappointed in the attention to detail of some items, but it was odd because some things were done with a high level of attention to detail while others were not, very conflicting.
The Story:
Scheduled for 2 Day job, 3 people, ~900 sq ft crawl space often having standing water when it rained a lot.
1st Day, Monday - Installation guys discovered that the designed water trenches were not going to work well, they gave me the option to install a 2nd sump pump at no additional cost instead of the additional trenching challenges/risks. It was decided to install 2 sump pumps on opposite ends of the home. (Note: Sump pumps need serviced yearly, the drawback is 2 pumps cost more to service than 1 pump....I think 2 cost around $160, but I will not know till next year) The workers were friendly, respectful, professional, and worked hard.
2nd Day, Tuesday - It was raining so they decided to delay digging the discharge lines since it would tear the lawn up more. They finished the basic installation and I reviewed it. We discussed several things which I had expected to be different and the workers happily confirmed they would come back to hit those spots when they came back to did the discharge line. Outstanding items were: Needed insulation on one wall near the entry, couple spots needed additional sealing in the cleanspace, that evening I discovered the inside discharge lines had several PVC joints which had not been glued, the standard discharge distance is 15-30 feet from the house but in our quotation process I had thought we had agreed to more, that evening the sales person and I talked and we agreed to a good compromise of 45 feet (I had wanted ~70 to get it behind my garage, 45 was better than 30).
3rd Day Thurs or Fri? - The third day was just a few minutes to fix the leaking pipes and seal the places in the encapsulation, this was done.
4th Day Saturday - They returned on that Saturday Morning for a couple hours and dug the trench and installed the 45 foot discharge lines, other inside PVC leaks had been discovered, those were repaired as well. Unfortunately it was also raining this day, there was no sod to put back on top the trench since it was so muddy, I requested they put down grass seed, this is not their normal procedure, but they agreed to come back.  After they left more leaks in the PVC inside were still present.
5th Day Monday - They sent out another guy not on the install crew, he looked everything over and went back indicating the installers needed to fix their issues, he did not want to fix their issues and did not have the parts he needed.
6th Day Wednesday? - The original crew returned and fixed the PVC, fixed some issues with the discharge lines and seeded. They also completed the insulation which had been missing. They spent most of the day as a result of discovering that I had a worse water issue than they had initially thought, more trenching was performed under the cleanspace and the cleanspace was sealed up again. I felt much better about the attention to detail and quality of the job after this day so I paid them Thursday.
Sunday - I found still one more leak in the PVC pipe inside the crawl space, and a very small amount of water still coming in where the new issue had been discovered and mostly resolved on the 6th day.
7th Day Monday? They sent a worker to go over everything with a fine tooth comb.
Sunday (3 weeks after start)- It has only rained a little in the week since the final work (7th day) was done and I have not had the time to go down there and check everything out, if there is anything else significant I will have to edit this review and let you know. For now I think things are ok and I feel safe knowing Evergreen/basement systems/cleanspace has a really good warranty. I have been disappointed by their attention to detail, they had to come back a bunch, but in the end I expect a long lasting product, only time will tell.
Again, everyone was very nice and professional, otherwise I would be hopping mad about this job and the time required of me to keep checking every time it rained but since they were easy to get along with I am patient enough to also recognize that mistakes happen and people learn from them. As a result I expect your installation to go much smoother than mine.

Initially, i had a lot of trouble getting the job completed. The project manager wasn't able to resolve this, and work kept being delayed. The owner didn't receive the messages that I wanted to speak with him.
Utilizing the resolution services of Angie's List, I was able to reach the owner. He contacted me immediately, and took care of completing the work the following day. He came to my house, and brought a crew of 6 with a 20-foot trailer and another truck, and the work was completed. What had begun to be a nightmare was ultimately a job well done with a very pleasant resolution. I would use this company again, though I would stipulate in the contract a cost penalty for work not completed on schedule. The owners clearly care about the integrity and reputation of their company. I'm very impressed with their commitment.

They came out for an estimate because we had standing water in the basement. The estimate went great, we got a discount for putting down a deposit and scheduling so be ready or have the money available to put a deposit down plan a day. This just happened to be our last estimate before we were going to pick a company. I am thankful that we did the estimate last it was quick and guaranteed so if they have to do more you still pay the estimate price.(Thirty percent deposit and the remainder at the conclusion of the project.) They came early on the morning scheduled and worked diligently, our basement was a two day project, and length of project is also given with the initial estimate. The power went out around 1:00pm the first day for the entire neighborhood so they worked by flashlight and cell phones until after 5:00pm. We thought they were crazy but they are good at what they do because the supervisor came to make sure the work was being completed properly and also gave us a tour of the completed work and explained what everything was supposed to look like prior to touring the completed work. As each worker completed their designated portion the supervisor would take us on a tour of the completed work prior to the next worker completing the next task. So that if any mistakes or problems occurred it could easily be corrected. We were asked were we wanted the drainage pipes and drain and we also got an air purifier it took the moisture and odors out as it was designed to do the air is crisp and clean in the basement. At the completion of the project we had another tour and the system is guaranteed for a long time. They also reviewed what would affect the warranty of the equipment so that it could be avoided and if any problems please notify. The only problem that I had was with the air purifier's cord was not long enough to move away from the drain so it is too close to the drain. I am going to give the a call and keep the review updated on the response time.

They took a couple of months but they were initiated with work because all the rain that was in the area during that spring, summer, and fall. And so, I don't want to bash them too hard for that because they were working on a lot of stuff. They started in September and finally finished it all in November.

After contacting several companies in the area and receiving estimates we chose JES. This was based on price (they were the lowest) and also on the fact their inspection was thorough and they explained in great detail what the problem was and how they would fix it.   They took pictures in the crawl space to show us the problem and didn't try to sell us something beyond what we really needed, unlike some other companies.  They arrived on time, worked on schedule, were very professional and did a great job.
We had another issue just this week and JES came out today and took care of it as well.  It turned out to be such a small problem that they said they usually don't do that type of work.  But the went ahead and fixed it....at no charge!  That type of customer service and loyalty to customers is rare these days.  It was a small thing for them but huge for us.  I will use JES again for any structural/foundation issues and highly recommend them.

I called 11 days ago to schedule an appointment for an estimate.  We agreed on 1 pm on a Friday.  They later called back and moved the appointment back until 2 pm the same day.
On the appointed day, I get a call at 1:30 from the person doing the estimate.  He said he wouldn't be there until 3:15-3:20.  I told him I wouldn't be meeting him but I would have my realtor meet him. I gave him my realtor's number.  He later told the realtor he was 90 miles away and wouldn't be there until 4:30-5:00 pm.  My realtor told him that we'd have to reschedule which we won't be doing.

It was a large job, and Evergreen arrived as scheduled, completed the entire process in an extremely professional manner, explained what they did, and emphasized their desire to come back at any time if problems arouse. We have had absolutely not problem in the 6 months since, and the crawl spaces remain pristine. Recent contractors working on a bathroom upgrade commented they had never seen a better basement job.

We are not doing so well right now and we are not too happy with them. What we hoped for and what they are doing are two different things. They are coming back today to go over everything with my husband because of the issues. They tend to tell you one thing but then they do something else. It is completely still not leveled, we have got bumps on the floor in certain spots and from the laser it is way off. As far as talking to you and everything it has been nice, but we have got some other issues. We just got a shade and we had the stuff in the garage and I let them go through the garage while they rolled over the woods for the shade to build and we've ended up with a piece that was destroyed all over the decks. They said they were going to take care of it because it was raining when they were here and didn't. With price I know they are comparable to everybody else. Some stuff is really good and the rest of it is bad.

JES sent a structural engineer to assess my problem.   My home had developed cracks where the walls meet the ceiling and that problem was getting worse almost day to day.   The engineer determined that the beam under this house was sinking - 3/4" - because the builder put supports every 12 feet apart instead of the 8 feet-10 feet which was required.

I phoned the company, they gave me the first 2 dates when they would be able to do their work.   They came on 3/21 to dig holes and fill those holes with concrete to hold the new jacks.   A week was needed for the concrete to cure and they returned on 3/28 to use those jacks to hoist the beam back into place.   They then shimmed up the older supports so they would share the weight of the house.

The workmen were all professional and friendly - they answered my questions and explained exactly what they were doing.

Scheduling the time of day for workers to arrive could have been a problem.   I was told they would be here around 8:30 AM for their first visit.   Then several days before that date, someone called me and said they would be here at 1:00 PM.   I planned to leave home that morning, returning before 1:00, but I didn't - and it's a good thing because I got a call from a member of the crew.   He apologized for being late, said they had some problem with their truck but they were on their way and would be there soon.   Had I left that morning, I would have missed their phone call and no one would have been here to grant them access to the crawl space.

They took measurements of the space to include humidity readings.  Unlike another company that stood outside of the crawl space and guessed at the measurements which turned out to be way off.  The day of installation, they came in, did exactly what they said they would and finished quicker then the estimated time.  I would highly recommend this company.

Everyone from top to bottom, was professional and courteous.  They were punctual and responsive. We encountered a problem during the installation and they handled it - saving me a headache.  I really appreciated that.
The entire team was knowledgable and helpful.
They worked fast and efficiently - not dragging this out like some service providers. Afterwards, they cleaned up and explained the drain-system to me.
A week later they followed up with a spray treatment over the new concrete.
They are very service oriented and care about your basement..!

There do not seem to be other competitors for this service in Roanoke area.  Despite this, Evergreen handled their business with us as if we were the only job they had on the books-- and our house is very small.
We just purchased this small fixer upper.  I noticed bad smell throughout the house - mostly dirt smell.  We wanted to be sure we addressed any moisture, mold, radon, etc.  Evergreen was honest that we had no moisture issues and did not try to add on unnecessary services.  They explained the process and materials to us thoroughly.  We went with the extra strong fiber under the plastic as they suggested.  The plastic they use is very thick.  It appears to be sealed very well.   It is tidy and clean and we can crawl or walk on the encapsulated material.  Our electrician and plumber have been able to get in and do their work and although they have been careful, they have had no problem with seams opening or material tearing at all.
We have done a lot of remodeling in the last month besides the encapsulation, and our new home no longer has a dirt smell at all.  We even had the ducts cleaned by another vendor to be sure we had things all cleaned out.
I think the cost may have been a little high for the size of our house, but again, they do not seem to have competition.  To me, it is well worth the cost to eliminate the dirt odor, know that ground moisture that may create mold is sealed off, and the have the crawlspace area cleared, cleaned and sealed.    Even my  husband who does not have a sensitive sense of smell or allergies, feels this process was well worth it.
I will add that Evergreen workers were very hard working.  They had to clear space, scrape, smooth and work in crawl space - a dirty difficult job.  But they were work horses and very professional!  I commend Evergreen for attracting and keeping good quality helpers.
I  am a Class B Remodeling Contractor specializing in interior remodeling, so my standards of workmanship are high.  They did not miss a beat.  Did a great job beginning to end.

Service crews were excellent, on time, were courteous, and performed as outlined in contract.  Three day job - home office pulled crew off without notice the morning of third day and sent new crew.  Had to explain to crew what first crew did - I didn't like the crew being switched in the middle of the job.  Also, home office foreman disputed what was contracted for since they had a preliminary draft instead of final contract: had to resolve what to do with crews: would have been conflict had I not had a written copy of specific work items to be performed.

The estimate went great. Punctual, professional and great explanation of the problem. They worked within our budget and helped prioritize needs. The work itself was a nightmare of rescheduling, showing up without telling us, incomplete work, additional work that wasn't supposed to happen but did because they didn't know what they were supposed to do (thanks for the free drain!) and very poor communication from one of the office staff. Apparently they grew a lot this year and have not worked out the kinks. Eventually the work was completed and was done well. Not sure whether or not I would use them again, it was a lot more of a headache than I expected.
