They completed the work to meet my expectations, but it required many phone calls to reach that point. Check over your contract carefully and be aware that if a detail is not written, it is not included. (Example: Most of the insulation under my house was in good condition, but some sections were hanging and the first crew that installed drainage removed a small hanging section that was probably in the way as they worked. Because insulation was not mentioned in my contract, I had to call the office to have that section replaced.)
I might use them in the future due to the quality of the materials and the hard work of the crews, but I would be keeping a written log of conversations with the company.
The original work was done in May, 2012, and we have had a very nice, dry basement ever since then. We used to have to rent a wet-dry vac after almost every big rain storm. The basement has remained dry despite a very wet, rainy summer this year, and rain and straight-line winds from a derecho at the end of June, 2012. Evergreen suggests that you get a checkup of your system once a year, so we had them come back this August to do an inspection. Everything was still fine. The cost of the inspection is $98.
After I set up the initial appointment I received a comprehensive booklet on the services Evergreen provided. The representative was on time and came equipped with camera and laptop. After he inspected the crawlspace he prepared a presentation and an estimate of the work required which he then reviewed with me.
Once I selected Evergreen the scheduling and preparation was very organized. They have great project management in place. I received post cards confirming the date and detailing the electrical work needed. I just handed the electrical post card to my electrician and he knew immediately what needed to be done and provided an estimate on the spot.
Evergreen took care of notifying the utility companies to come out and mark water and gas lines.
The installation crew arrived within the scheduled window. After reviewing the work to be done with me they went right to work and completed the job the same day. The clean up was great - could not even tell they had been in my yard, except for the new drain. The Evergreen team coordinated well with the electrician so the entire job was completed in one day.
I received an evaluation form from Evergreen shortly after the job was completed. I had occasion to call the office with a follow-up question and the staff was very responsive and addressed my question at once.
I am very satisfied with this company and would recommend them.
$2000) than we initially were quoted. Contractors had to come back and finish work at a later date due to the fact
they did not complete the job as contracted - once they were informed they did come out very quickly and finish the
job.
"I'm sorry that you are unhappy with your JES experience. We strive to provide everyone with the best solution and design at the time of the inspection. Occasionally our installers find that more materials may be needed in order to complete the job correctly. While this is a rarity, it does happen, and this is why we continue to educate our inspectors and installers on the products, installation techniques and safety practices. I would like to speak with you further about your situation. If you would please give me a call, when it's convenient for you, I'd appreciate it. Respectfully, Scott Davis, VP 866-370-4816"

Foundation repair is a delicate and precise process, occasionally adjustments are required in order to properly repair your home. We strive to clean up any work areas; it sounds like you were left with an unsatisfactory clean up and I'd like to find out the details. I would like to speak with you further about your situation. We also had to have an electrical line installed to accommodate the sump pump prior to the installation--it is recommended they be placed on their own breaker line; and we had to have 2 installed (one for each line). There was lots of dust everywhere, even though they covered things and sealed off our door to the upstairs. They cleaned the floor well before they left, but there was still lots of dust to clean after they left. We also had some jackhammer vibration damage on our fireplace hearth. I pointed this out to them on their return visit to install the wallboard and they have promised to come repair it.
The wallboard installation was very straightforward; they cut the wallboard outside to minimize dust; and the installation utilized a clip kind of method between the boards.
We had one very heavy rain a few weeks after the installation; the new concrete became damp, but there was no water in the basement. They told me the damp concrete is typical when it has not had time to set enough. Because my basement can go months, even years, between flooding incidents, I cannot say for certain this system works; but the indications are good. I will have to update after it has had a significant test.
Based on the company's responsiveness and general professionalism, I highly recommend them. I just have to see if it actually works...and for the money, I sure hope so!
I am updating this review 2/26/2013--We have had several rains which have caused our new basement waterguard system and pump to kick in, and I can say this system does indeed work! It was a joy to watch that water pumping out into the yard instead of into my basement! Evergreen still has not repaired our fireplace hearth, however...still waiting on that...otherwise great job!
"Thank you for your business! We appreciate having you as a customer! We look forward to working with you in the future!"
