I was very pleased with the work done by University Painters. Rene came to my home to give me an estimate, which was very reasonable and $850 less than an estimate I got from another provider for the same work. Rene got Cesar and his crew to do the work. The guys were very hard workers and did a great job. They painted the shutters, rake boards and other trim. They also replaced and painted two doors that were on my outside utility closets. That was a big job but they did it very well. They were able to accomplish all of this in less than a day. I had hired them previously for work on my home so I was confident they would do a good job and they did!

I had a great experience. They did a great job. The people that I used did a wonderful job. I've actually given their names to people in my neighborhood. People have seen the outside of my house. It was a pretty dramatic change. I've had people literally come and knock on my door and ask me who painted my house. They actually saw them painting it. They had quotes from other people and it was so expensive, they said they weren't going to do it. I told them what I paid, and they thought it was reasonable, so they asked for their name and number. I gave them their name and number. They were professional. But my one comment was, the main guy, my foreman, he wasn't there all the time. He came throughout the time they were working on it. But the other guy didn't speak hardly any English, so I had a hard time communicating with them. I would call the one guy and talk with him. They were very nice people. I would give them coffee. They were very appreciative. They did a great job. They did a beautiful job. They spoke so little English, I couldn't communicate with them. I knew they couldn't understand me when I'd asked them questions and stuff. So I had to go back to the foreman and get my questions. They were very professional, even the guys who did the job were very professional, even though they didn't speak English. But that's a problem. There was a language barrier. Everything was done beautifully. Everything was done professionally. They were very nice. I want people to have opportunities, but learn the language. That's how I feel. They did a fabulous job. I'm really, really happy with it. But the people they hire need to be required to learn English, so they can communicate with the clients. Despite all of that, they worked hard, great, very professional, very polite. I'm very impressed with everything, but that's a barrier when you can't talk to someone and ask questions, because they can't understand what you're saying. So that was the only thing that was a problem for me. I probably would hire them again because they do a beautiful job, and I'll actually hire them again for other stuff because they actually do a lot of jobs other than painting. But that bothered me because the people who came couldn't speak English.

We are very pleased with the work of University Painters. They not only did a fine job of painting, but also replaced our worn and damaged edge trim on the house corners with half-inch vinyl that will probably outlast the house. The painters were extremely neat and left no trash. The foreman walked the job with us to ensure everything we asked to be done was completed to our satisfaction. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

There was a bit of miscommunication at first with Steven, but we resolved that quickly and he came by our new place to provide an estimate. A few days later, Jose the foreman showed up with his crew and began working. Jose and his crew did an excellent job, ensuring that no paint dripped on our hardwood floors, and that all the paint lines were straight and true. They started and finished the job exactly as stated on the contract. I'd use them again.

Steven Papageorge responded quickly to my email request and we set up an appointment to inspect the home exterior. He was very professional and attentive to our concerns about what was needed. Following his initial proposal, we realized that more sections of trim required replacing. We sent pictures of the additional work, however Steven felt it would be better to revisit in order to provide an accurate quote, which he did in a very timely manner.
We also obtained quotes from two(2) other contractors. Steven's proposal was slightly lower than one of the other contractors and included two coats of paint, which neither of the others did. 
The work started the following week and a  walk-around was performed with his foreman, Jose, to clarify the details of the proposal. Drop clothes were used and all debris was removed. The work was completed in 3 days(one day was rained out), with a final walk-around with Jose, to make sure we were satisfied with all aspects of the painting and woodwork.
Steven called during the work progress to make sure all was going well and then again at completion and to confirm our Angie's List discount!
I will certainly keep University Painters/Steven Papageorge in my list of contractors for future painting needs and have already recommended him to a friend.

Steven and his crew were very accommodating in squeezing us in to paint most of the interior of the house, as well as doing some drywall repair, in a very short time frame between when we closed on our house and when we needed to move in.   They gave us a fair price, showed up on time, and stayed until it was finished.  I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

Crew of 4 showed up on time. Very good job of prepping (these areas had not been painted in 20 years), seemed to be very little down time.   Two coats everywhere.   Great cleanup except in one bathroom -- too many splatter marks on black sink counters.  I am very pleased with the job performed.
