I have used Glenn Ports for years and my parents liked his work and professionalism so much they referred Glenn to me years ago. I trust Glenn to point out hazards or to assure me that there is not a problem when I see a branch I am worried about. He always quotes the price in advance, gives me an estimated date and time and shows up like he said. He stays with his crew the entire time working right along side of them. The cleanup is excellent and this time, he actually left my yard and walkways in a cleaner state than they were before his work! Glenn Ports is reliable.

Mr. Ports came out shortly after making the call to give us an estimate. He also said how long it would be before he could do the work. He did the work, cleaned up all the debris, and even took down a hornet's nest. He was professional and did what he said he would do. I would hire him again.

Mr Ports was a clearly knowledgeable professional. He and his team arrived when scheduled, worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up the area. I have used them in the past and won't hesitate to use them in the future.

We have used Ports several times for tree work. Had two older trees with large branches growing far out from the trees. Parts of the branches were hanging so low you would walk into them. Wanted the branches trimmed so that parts of them wouldn't be so close to the ground. Also had another tree with a branch that need to be removed. In addition, had a large old oak tree stump that was left when the tree was taken down because there was cement in the trunk. Trunk was about four feet above ground level. Ports was able to get the concrete out and trim the stump down to ground level. All wood and debris was removed and site was thoroughly cleaned up.

I had 3 smaller trees that were dead or dying and a cedar tree that needed some pruning.  I called Glenn Ports to take a look at everything.  Within the agreed upon times he arrived and provided an estimate.  I accepted the estimate and scheduled the work.  The night before the work was to be performed his office called and gave me the specific window of time that he would arrive.  All 3 trees were taken down and the cedar tree was pruned.  All wood was removed and clean-up was completed.
This is the fifth or sixth time that I have used Glenn Ports and consider him to be reliable and reasonably priced.

Port's Tree Service is the best at what they do - trim up treesi in your yard. There are so many inferior companies doing this work. Port's is honest and the quality is excellent.

A large old oak tree trunk was left on our property when the tree was cut down by another company a couple of years ago.  The trunk could not be removed at the time the tree was cut down because a large cavity in the trunk was filled with concrete many years ago and the crew did not want to chance ruining their saws trying to get to it.  Eventually, enough of the trunk rotted away so that the cavity and concrete was (mostly) visible.  The trunk was over 6 feet tall and over 8 feet in circumference.
I called Ports to come take a look at it.  This is about the fifth time I have used them.  As usual, they responded quickly, gave me an estimate,  and showed up on time to cut away that part of the trunk above the concrete.  So I've still got a shorter stump, but I guess until more of the concrete is visible, it'll be there.

Ports called me two days ahead of time to advise of the day and time they would arrive; they were very punctual!  Two workers came; they carefully trimmed both trees, picked up all debris with a rake, and even used a blower to sweep tiny bits of wood.  All of this was done in about an hour.  Ports has a lot of knowledge and experience, so they carefully trim branches so as not to harm the tree shape.

Comes out once a year to give us an estimate and then trim the trees at a later date.  Punctual, reasonably priced.

All work was performed as requested. I had gotten 4 bids on this job, two for around $1500 and two for $2600. I selected Mr. Ports' company because he had one of the lower bids and because he was very knowledgeable about trees and I liked his pro-tree approach. (One of the higher bidders had recommended cutting down two of the trees that two different arborists told me were reasonably healthy). Ports is a low-key, family company. Mr. Ports oversees and does a significant portion of the work. He does not have a bucket truck, but climbs with ladders and ropes without using shoe spikes. He and his helper were very adept at trimming even the tall trees using this manual approach. Mr. Ports' wife and son constituted the ground crew on my job. They chipped the trimmed branches and provided excellent cleanup. I would definitely use Ports again for work that didn't absolutely require a bucket or crane.

Their prices are very reasonable and it has been a very good experience. They came out and gave me an estimate; they were the least expensive one. I had them do the work and they did a great job. I watched them do the work.

We've used Port's for a few years and have always gotten excellent service.  This time, we needed a very large oak tree removed.  It was located between our house and the neighbors and there was very little space to work in.  It would have been very easy to hit either house or the fence.  Mr. Port is always careful and had us remove a couple of birdhouses from nearby trees.  He always asks if we want the wood cut in firewood lengths or hauled away (we keep it).  At our request, he also leaves the chipped branches for us.  You can always find someone to do this work cheaper but we prefer to have someone licensed/insured like he is given the danger of the work involved to people and property.  He always gives quick estimates and let's you know when he can put you in the schedule.  I highly recommend Ports.

The recent ice/snow storm snapped a large limb in a tree in my front yard. The limb did not completely separate and was hung up and partially attached about 20 feet off of the ground. I called Port's right away to get on their schedule and Glen Ports came out within 48 hours to assess the damage. He gave me an estimate. Since there was still snow and ice on the ground the work could not be done right away. The limb was hung up pretty well and posed no immediate danger since it was not near the house or any wires. As soon as the snow was about gone, Glen called and said that he would be doing the work the next day. He arrived on time and removed the limb and assorted broken branches. No problem. This is the 4th or 5th time I have used Ports and have never had any problems with the company.

They were very professional, from the day they provided the estimate (the day I called for an estimate, they came right over), to showing up on time the day of the service. The area was left neat and clean. I have a fish pond right next to the garage, set in a flagstone patio, and I was worried that branches would fall into the pond, and they were very careful to keep the pond safe and clean. I recommend them highly.

I left a message for Glenn. He responded the next day and we arranged for him to come out and provide an estimate. The estimate was done in a timely manner and was much lower than the other estimates we got. The tree treatments were done at the beginning of May, which he did as scheduled. He was booked for about a month to do the tree removals, but ended up coming a little earlier than expected. The trees and all debris were removed and the magnolia seems to be doing well. Would definitely use again.

A branch on a Maple tree over our driveway was damaged by a contractor last year. It was dying so we wanted it cut out. This branch was about 6" in diameter and branched off of the tree about 8 or 9 feet off of the ground. A large Oak tree in our back yard needed a couple of branches trimmed out. One branch was about 6" or so in diameter. The other was about 4". Both were about 10 feet (or more) off of the ground. Glenn Ports stopped by at the agreed upon time and provided an estimate. After accepting the price, the work was scheduled and completed on time. This is the third time that we have used Ports and have found them to be reasonably priced, always on time and excellent at cleaning up the site when finished.
