Norah's Cleaning Service Inc
About us
Norah's Cleaning Services started running business in the area of Virginia 25 years ago. At that time, residential cleaning was an unusual service. Homeowners weren't willing to let a stranger enter in their homes. That was the biggest obstacle for us. Even though people wanted to get their homes clean without any effort, they didn't take our services. They were afraid. Fortunately, some clients gave us an opportunity and they were so satisfied, that they referred us to their family and friends. Our business started growing at a so fast pace, we couldn't imagine it before. We ran from one house to the other to serve our customers. The competitors didn't sleep and they appeared. Later we hired personnel, some of them came from other cleaning providers, which we though it was an advantage, but we realized very soon that the difference in the job quality was too big, that we must tell them “forget everything you know about cleaning and let's start again”. That was the beginning of our own Cleaning Concept, which includes zero tolerance to tricks to make the job faster like other cleaning services. No, our customers expect that we do the hard job and that is what we do. Until today we keep the same quality standards. We offer a wide variety of services, including residential and commercial cleaning and building maintenance in the areas of Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. All our staff is trained and non- intrusive. We prefer the use of Earth-Friendly products to clean, just when necessary we use bleach. We have the best prices in the market and flexible schedules. All our services are guaranteed. Additional DBA - norah's cleaning service.

"We value your help and appreciate your confidence in us. Counting you among our customers is something for which we are especially grateful. NORAH"S CLEANING SERVICES INC."
"The crew was performed by 3 cleaning professional and that is the reason why the cleaning time was shorter. About cleaning performance, we follow a 34 steps cleaning for every first time cleaning. At the time we complete the job you told us to be satisfied with the service. We understand that every house has different needs and we always be more than happy to meet all your expectations and take care of any other specific requests."
"At the first time cleaning you showed to be satisfied with service received when write on your first review posted that we added oven cleaning at no extra charge and ratify that the house is a rental and was quite dirty, when you moved in. Please consider that the days that you schedule the pick up date for your keys were on the Thanksgiving days weekend which is one on the 3 days company close to spend time with our families."
We called Norah for an estimate and set a date for her to come to our home. She arrived on time and gave us an estimate. She was running a special for a deep clean on a town house, $150.00, which we thought was fair, so we set a date and time for Norah and her team to come to our home. We emphasized that we wanted Norah to be here for the cleaning, since it would be the first time we were using her company, and we wanted someone here with whom we could communicate in English since our Spanish is poor.
Norah arrived on time, but her team of four did not. We waited an hour for the cleaners to arrive, but Norah assured us that with four people cleaning, the job would not take very long.
Norah showed the cleaners around the house and explained our special requests. She then told us that she had to leave to check on another team and that she would return shortly.
After more than an hour(perhaps two hours), Norah had not returned,(again, she had assured us that she would be here during the job). My husband and I decided to take a look around the upstairs level to see if anything needed redoing, and found several problems.
While some areas were spotless, other areas looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all, (for instance a couple of our toilets and master bathroom sink). We then noted that the paper tray for our printer had been broken off and there was an obvious attempt to hide the broken piece.
We had to call Norah to come back to our home to address some of these issues as she had never returned on her own. She revealed to us that one of the maids was a trainee which, she said, accounted for the differences in levels of cleaning.
We feel that if a trainee was going to be on the job, we should have been so informed prior to the service and it should have been our choice whether we wanted that or not.
We showed Norah the broken printer tray and she was annoyed with her cleaners for not calling and telling her they had broken something. My husband offered to try to repair the item on his own and Norah did say she would take care of replacing the item if he could not fix it.
After three to four hours, and several redos of dirty areas, the house was finished.
Overall, the house was very clean, but we were unnecessarily aggravated by the entire experience, from the excessive lateness of the cleaning team to Norah's broken promise to be here during the entire cleaning job. We feel that if she had been here, several problems might have been avoided and the job might have been completed more quickly.
When my husband brought that issue to Norah's attention, she deftly changed the subject.
"We received a $150 payment for a "5 PEOPLE working at your home FOR 6 HOURS". This kind of work regularly has a cost of between $600 and $650. Norah always made an introductory walk through the house with the crew to point all special requirements and came before job gets done to supervised everything gets done as required. It is not possible for her to stay during all cleaning process because she encourage to give the same personalized service to all her clients. We talked to your husband about the printer piece and he said that was already damaged."
Weeks (over a month) ago Norah and her crew did a very deep clean of my house. They did such a fine job that I booked them months ahead to clean prior to my holiday guests arriving for a week's visit. On the second appointment, I initially asked Norah to do a good (but not deep) cleaning. However, a few days before our appointment, I called her to ask if she could provide additional crew members to do another deep clean. Norah graciously agreed to add extra staff at the last minute and we agreed upon a fair price for the extra level of cleaing I rerquired.
As on her first appointment for me, Norah walked with me through the house and carefully examined each room to see what was needed. She and I discussed where the house needed extra care and we settled on which areas I wanted her crew to cover. Norah spent this time to evaluate what I wanted and what was needed. This type of discussion is vital to ensure both she and I were in agreement on what the crew would do and what my expectations were. I appreciated Norah's attention to detail and her honest evaluation of which rooms did not require extra attention. In addition, Norah spent time with her crew, explaining what I wanted and how she wanted the work done. Every person on the crew worked hard and delivered excellent results. Norah takes pride in her work and monitored the results carefully during and after the job.
Both times that Norah and her crew cleaned my house, I couldn't have been more pleased with the results and with Norah's professionalism. In the future, I know I will trust Norah and her crew to do an excellent job.
Thanks, Norah and crew for delivering A+ results on both jobs.
"This is the first time Norah's Cleaning services decide to refuse to keep providing services to a client. customer take our service and never paid the agreed price. She requested to keep a regular service but at the time to receive the payment she the always find the way to make us responsible for undone jobs.We just decide to cancel our service with her."
"You booked the service using a coupon for $120 regular deep cleaning, but work gets obviously harder when it is performed after a kitchen remodeling job. At the time we schedule your service you didn't the remodeling even when on the coupon mention that it is not valid after construction job. Crew has to vacuum over walls, beds, etc. and other areas not included on the service."
