Long Electric

I spoke to John Long on the phone, and he was responsive and available and explained what seemed like a fair rate structure. Anybody who complains that an electrician charges for the initial visit is either not dealing with reality, or not dealing with professional electricians. The electrician that he sent, Bo, was on time, friendly, exceedingly professional, and worked very efficiently. Bo worked quickly and neatly, gave thoughtful advise, and was conscientious not only of my property but of my pocketbook. After a half-day at my house, I was impressed by all that got done, and the total charges were less than I expected. I am very pleased with Bo and with Long Electric, and will absolutely call on them again when needed.

They were terrific. The worker was very good and they did high quality work at a reasonable price.

We have been using Long Electric since the late 1990s, so Bo and John have helped us in our former townhouse and current home. Bo is thoughtful and a superb problem solver. He suggests better ways to do things. His solution to providing us with a front outdoor electrical outlet has been extremely helpful and creative. One thing he did for us a number of years ago was suggest putting a ceiling light in a dark laundry closet in a poorly lit hallway - it was something we hadn't even considered, but that little addition has made it so much easier.  All of the work is done well, on time, and with care and neatness. We heartily recommend Long Electric, a great family owned and family oriented local business.

Fantastic. Excellent over the phone, and set up appointment immediately. Came out, looked carefully at the job and presented a very fair, thoughtful and no pressure estimate. Returned to do the work less than a week later and did a phenomenal job. Everything was very clean looking, low profile, and hidden wherever possible. I have a very handy, very particular husband who hates messing with electrical work. But, he scrutinizes carefully all work that we have done. Even he had not-a-single-complaint. A delight to work with, and I would highly recommend going forward.

I LOVE Long Electric, and have used them many times over the years. I find that they are professional, from the guy who takes my call and clarifies what needs to be done, to the service guy who shows up within the appointed timeframe (thank you!) and gets the job done. The guys who show up seem personable and happy employees, which is always a plus. I cannot recommend them more highly.

John worked quickly and replaced a blown fuse. He confirmed that there had probably been some surging from power company. He also advised me on the condition of the main breaker which was just starting to deteriorate. However, he said it could remain in good working condition for several months or several years, so he didn't advise replacing it now. Since he was there, I also asked him to look at a ceiling fan that had stopped working two weeks prior. He was able to diagnose it, and advised me how to purchase a new receiver unit that would have to be put inside the fan. I was very pleased with his work and was so relieved that he fixed the problem with the fuse. And I now know the next steps to take to get the can fixed. Power is now working well throughout the house!

After I had a power surge due to bad storm in 2008 and found my insurance company did not cover any of my major appliances or computer board in HV/AC system, I wanted a whole house surge suppresser installed to protect against this in the future. A friend recommended Long Electric. I called them and made an appointment. They came out did the work and also found a bad wire which had made an outlet not work. (I had been trying to figure this out for ages and couldn't find the problem. They fixed the wire and installed the surge supressor all for the price quoted and tightened up all connections in my circuit breaker box. My only concern was that they failed to mark the circuit breakers where the surge suppressor was attached. Otherwise great job!

They were prompt, punctual, and reasonable. They did good work. They were clean and showed up when they were supposed to.
