He was quick to respond to my request and spent considerable time reviewing the space and making an assessment. Like the other poster, I regret having paid him in full. He offered only a small portion of the information needed by the contractors in order to actually implement the job. I have requested clarification. He offered some very vague, generalized suggestions rather than substantive advice based on calculations. He was very communicative and responsive until paid. I have one piece of a three piece question answered. But, I have very little faith in the value of the information since he has provided nothing more than a "because I said so" approach. It's so disheartening. I now have to engage another structural engineer to get the information I contracted Mr. Ohi to provide.

We hired Mr. Ohi to evaluate damage caused by a roofing contractor that was discovered during a home inspection. He responded quickly and provided us with an honest assessment. He identified the required fix and explained it to the roofing contractor (who did fix the problem under their warranty). Mr. Ohi also returned to inspect the repairs and provided us with the necessary documentation to satisfy the home inspector. Mr. Ohi was prompt, honest, fair, professional, and pleasant to work with. I would recommend him highly.
