They installed a new HVAC unit for my condo that cost almost $10,000. The unit came with a 5-year warranty. I had problems with the unit since the first year of install. I had to call Jama to come back to repair it and pay for their service fees every time. I told Jama that it was not right that a new unit had so many problems, but Jama ignored my complaints and told me the unit was fine. The last repair occurred in 2020, eventually Jama told me that they couldn't repair the unit anymore. I would need to purchase a new unit because the warranty has expired. I called Jama multiple times, sent them emails a few times, but they refused to engage in any communications. This company is the worst!

Jama recommended and installed my heat pump last year when I renovated my house.  At the time I found them to be responsive and capable - particularly in running a number of "extra" analyses required by my goal of achieving LEED Gold.  I insisted we use a particular thermostat as it was remote controllable (and supplied by my employer).  It was really cool but apparently not compatible with the heat pump they installed and particularly with controlling the emergency heat.  My only complaint about JAMA's quality is that they didn't tell me that the thermostat wouldn't allow me to control the emergency heat - which meant on the coldest day in January, I had no heat.

That said, they came out to fix the heat problem immediately and I was incredibly pleased with their responsiveness and ability to diagnose and fix the problem.  Despite that it was my insistence on the thermostat to begin with, they took full responsibility on the follow up repair job and did not charge me for the visit or replacement thermostat.

The JAMA group is honest and their pricing is more than fair. I highly recommend them for HVAC.

27JUN: I had another company come out earlier in the day and they told me I'd need to replace the capacitor for $269.50 and the contactor for $214. Jama was referred to me by the person who's going to redo my basement, and they came out with extremely short notice. Walter was at the house to meet me as soon as I got home from work, and he fixed my compressor without replacing any parts! Apparently ants made a home in the electrical and were causing a problem. He blew the area out well with some type of compressed air, and it started up. Their $90 service call saved me a lot of money, and it buys me the time I need to replace my almost 15 to 20 year old HVAC system.

I should also point out Walter really took the time to look the system over, and he spent a good amount of time. He found the piece of metal that covers the heat exchange in my furnace was rusting away and leaking carbon monoxide into my basement -- the other company didn't say anything about this or probably even notice it.

Walter earned my trust, thank you Walter.

3JUL UPDATE: I contacted them after it stopped working again, and Jose came out the next day. I wasn't home, but he replaced the capacitor, relay, and the metal piece on the furnace. This worked for about another day and then the compressor stopped again. The person who is going to redo my basement had another AC person out to give me a quote to replace the system, and while they were out, they replaced the contactor. The system seems to be working now.

I've got to give these guys an A for effort, and they tried to make it work without replacing parts unnecessarily, which I appreciate. Jose was a little slow to respond via phone and text, but I could have been more aggressive in trying to reach him.

I got several estimates for work including JAMA as they had done a previous job for which I was satisfied. We selected another company who promised a certain day, but when that day came, they were unable to get the equipment. I phoned Jose at JAMA and asked if he could do the work that day (I had taken the day off for the install). He was out two hours later and completed most of the work that day. His price was the best buy a couple of hundred dollars (as was the case with the first job they did). Communication was challenging as some of his guys don't speak english well. Clean up was pretty good. Overall- he delivered. I got a good product at a reasonable price and he was able to install quickly.
The previous install was a new central unit. His price was by far the best for a high efficiency carrier with a multi speed blower. Clean-up was decent at that time also. I would certainly invite him to provide estimates for any future work.

I have been very satisfied from installation in April 2009 and with each year's maintenance performance.
