"Thank you so much for the great review. We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you out in the future, if you need us. Nick"
"Its amazing the lengths people go to. This person ripped us off and more than doubled her job size. She agreed to pay the extra so that we would do it all, since she more than doubled what we were supposed to take originally. When it came time to pay, she refused and said that the additional three 16' truck loads that she added, was only worth an additional $200 onto the original job that was bid. Our dumping bill for her job was almost $600 and the guys were there from 8am until 8:30pm hauling her parents garbage from the house. (A lifetime of garbage and filth was what we dealt with. Her and her life partner verbally attacked my nephew and began calling him names and he responded. He called me when all was finished to say that she refused to pay. I told him to throw the last load all over the place.(no regrets and would do it again) Her and her life partner tried to bully me and threaten me with police, getting arrested for not taking her stuff. CRAZY!! She called the police to then find out that she has to pay or we wouldn't haul off the last load. The cop laughed later with my nephew about the situation and her behavior. She clearly doesn't mind wasting others time, to try and get what she wants for free. The guys threw the trash out all over her driveway but she got off easy. We had already done everything and we're waiting to leave after she was supposed to pay. She then told the new owners that were supposed to move in, a bunch of lies to cover her butt on why the trash was in the driveway and that she never cleaned the place before handing it over. He called me upset and wanted me to take the trash until I told him what she did. She waited to empty a large filthy and loaded house out, until the last day. This is the way she thinks. The house was disgusting inside in my opinion(one of the worst ever, for us) and she handed the house over to the new owners like that. She is in my opinion a thief and should be dealt with accordingly. I was very clear that she doesn't get to make my prices. All of my prices are listed on my website. There were no smoke and mirrors with us, only her and her life partner. She never paid us a dime, but the job took multiple guys and 4 1/2 loads. Then this lady has the audacity to write us a bad review and act like she was a victim and acting like she paid. I was very leery of her when we met because she had a very strange type of personality, and let my guys know ahead of time, that her behavior was odd and to be extra careful. My instincts are never wrong when it comes to people's mental status. I was previously a mental health therapist with Fairfax County for ten years, with a specialty in behavior management. She was very domineering, demanding and rude. (I'll stop there but the list goes on) Luckily we haven't had more than a couple of [Member Name Removed]'s in our 14 years of owning multiple businesses. Thank God for that!! For now, we've settled for letting Karma run its course for her, as karma hits all thieves and liars eventually. However, if I read anymore slanderous garbage from her and her life partner, she'll find herself in court with a $2500 bill, slander suit and my attorneys fees. Let my "A" ratings everywhere, speak for themselves. Nick"
"Hello and thanks for the great review. I agree that the price seems expensive for the Hot Tub removal but when it's recessed in a deck they can be very difficult to remove and generally require more labor and cutting. We try to be as competitive as possible and usually have our competition beat by as much as 50% on removal. Please remind me of your job when you need us again and I'll see if I can sweeten the deal for you. Thanks, Nick"
The renovation included replacing all carpeting, painting all walls, replacing the kitchen countertops, replacing tile in the kitchen, both bathrooms and the entry, replacing all lighting fixtures, replacing vanities in both bathrooms, repairing wallboard damage, treating pet stains/smells on a balcony and the wood sub flooring (prior to replacing carpet). He started on a Wednesday and the condo was ready for real estate listing photos the following Thursday.
Nick was easy to work with, extremely knowledgable on how to get the desired results, including suggesting additional ideas/options for further improvements.
I strongly recommend his company.
"Thanks for the great review and it was a pleasure working with you as always. Thanks again, Nick"
"Just saw your review. I'm not sure why I didn't see these last few reviews from AngiesList customers earlier. Thanks for the excellent report about our company, it's greatly appreciated and so is your business. Thanks Again, Nick"
I found Nick Taylor for my kitchen renovation by having something hauled from my home. Everything was great until the project started the first week of November. Prior to starting on my project, I pointed out things to Nick like my floor being crooked and possible plumbing issues. After he started, Nick complained a lot about my old house costing him money. The voicemails and text messages from Nick were almost daily about problems that are encountered anytime you renovate an existing structure. The messages and texts grew more and more unprofessional as time went on. Although I did not make any changes to the design, the project ended up getting delayed because his office manager didn't get the right permit and because his carpenters used the wrong drawings to move a dining room entrance. There were other instances of people not showing up as scheduled, further delaying my project. Because I wanted my kitchen done as quickly as possible, I agreed to let people work outside of business hours too. This is not easy because I have two young boys and as you can imagine, a construction site is very exciting for them. On the day that Nick quit my kitchen renovation, he had yelled at me several times and swore at me. That morning, people showed up at my house that I wasn't expecting so I simply asked what they were going to do. Because of miscommunication/language barrier between him and his crew, Nick falsely accuse me of turning his guys away from my house (but they were at my house working). I will say that the work performed was decent quality (not superb) and the price he quoted me for this work was a good price. But because he quit, I have had to take time off of work to find someone else to finish - this is vacation I cannot take around the holidays now. Nick's lack of professionalism was really disturbing. He may be a good choice to renovate a home that is not occupied but I would not recommend him otherwise.
