Your Ideal Windows & Doors

This was a big job (for us, anyway) and Michael handled it brilliantly. We were concerned about lead-dust since we were replacing old windows in an old house. We requested a number of specific precautions be taken during the job to try to minimize dust. I could imagine a contractor - especially a sub who was not our main point of contact - seeing these as a hassle and taking shortcuts. Michael did nothing of the sort. He managed the job with care taking all the additional steps we requested. A few other things stand out as well. First, at one point, Michael noticed that two of the replacement windows were of a slightly different size than those they were replacing (the result, presumably, of a mis-measurement, but not by Michael - remember, he's the installing sub). Anyway, the result would be a subtle difference in the appearance of these particular windows. It would have been easy for him too proceed without telling us, and we likely never would have noticed. Michael did not do that. He brought the issue to our attention and carefully explained precisely how the result would differ from what we imagined if we proceeded (we proceeded, because, we actually liked the result better). Second, the contractor had said that while window-painting was part of the job, clean-up of plaster and repainting was not. Michael nonetheless re-plastered the walls around the new windows, and painted them with paint we found in the basement. It turned out the paint we found was not quite right - it did not match the color of the rooms. Michael said we could get the right paint, and he'd come out to repaint the walls around the windows. Anyway, it was great to work with Michael because he clearly takes pride in his work. He wants the job to go right and he wants the customer to like the final product. The windows came out great and we would highly recommend Michael.
