We had damaged asbestos tile in our basement, discovered when we tore up the carpet to do a basement renovation. We called Young at the advice of the person who tested the tile. Young was quick to schedule and handled the removal beautifully. Very pleased.

Peter and crew were right on time. They were efficient, doing a great job of covering and sealing everything. They were able to remove all of the tiles in my basement (440 sq ft) and seal over the remaining adhesive. They also worked with a company for air quality testing, completing the entire job in under 6 hours.

It went well. It took a little over half a day. The air test after work completed passed. The whole project from initial estimate call to completion was under a week.

These guys were fast and professional. They even helped me gather samples and pictures required to apply for partial reimbursement from the Zolonite Attic Insulation Trust. If you can submit samples proving that your insulation is Zolonite, this trust may reimburse you up to $4,125. Turned out to be about half the project cost in the end, which was great!

They were terrific. Evan was able to come out for an estimate the same day I called, and I was able to schedule the work five days later. Peter and his crew arrived on time, explained everything to me clearly, and were done with the entire job in 90 minutes. They removed all the tile and sealed the mastic so it's no longer dangerous, and left everything nice and clean. I could have removed the tiles myself, but it would have taken me a million times longer and I wouldn't have known what I was doing as far as handling and disposing of hazardous material. I am very happy with the service I received from Young Environmental.

Young Environmental is an experienced, knowledgeable company that specializes in asbestos mitigation. We found them through Angie's List to address a problem we needed completed in order for other work to be done (the installation of a French drain for a sump pump). It was when we were getting an estimate for that work that we were told the tiles needed to be removed first because of the asbestos used in the tiles of that age (1960s). We received a quick response from Young Env. They told us that while both the tiles and mastic contained asbestos the amount was minimal and likely not a health hazard. I probably could have removed the tiles myself, but removing the mastic was a whole different issue. Young does an excellent job of sealing the area to prevent any exposure and guarantees their work. The post-mitigation testing is done by a different company (Geller Labs in our case), so there is that additional assurance. No remaining asbestos was found and the other work was able to proceed. Total work was approx. 213 linear feet of tile and mastic, just where the sump pump trench would be excavated. We plan on having them back to do the rest of the area (with a quote that obviously provides credit for work done).
