They told me that my water heater is to old to have the flush be worth it.

Mike was really great to work with. He made sure the job was done properly and was willing to work with me on schedule and scope of the work. He was responsive and understanding of the issues I've had with previous contractors. I recommended him to other neighbors who were also pleased with his team's work. Highly recommend!!!

They were very courteous but the estimate they gave was much too high, so I cancelled the deal.

It was a plumbing emergency and they got back to me the day I purchased the deal. They had someone out to me the next day and they did a fine job.

My Hunny Do did an outstanding job from start to finish. I corresponded with John Scaniffe through e-mails. He is very nice, efficient, and very honest. After sending some pictures of the various places that I wanted to have the rotted wood replaced with composite wood, John came out to take a look and to make sure the estimate that he sent was right. After signing with his company he scheduled my work to be done on November 12, 2014 through November 13, 2014. The day before my scheduled date, John called and sent me an e-mail telling me when his Master Carpenter would arrive the following day. His Master Carpenter Filix Menendez arrived on time and went to work quickly. He works very hard and does an exceptional job on everything he does. I was very impressed! The house now looks terrific! The windows sills and trim under the windows look as good as when I bought the place back in 2003. The caulking of all my windows and everything else on the exterior was done efficiently and meticulously. I am extremely pleased with the results. I think very highly of My Hunny Do and would highly recommend them to all my family and friends. I know I will definitely keep using My Hunny Do for future repairs and projects.

Never did the service, it didn't work as what I read it.

I sent John a detailed email of all of the work that needed to be done in my family's new condo. He responded within 24 hours with a thorough quote. While I paid for a follow-up consultation for an hour of John's time, this cost was refunded when I chose My Hunny Do as my contractor. Everything about my experience with My Hunny Do was phenomenal. The work, the customer service... outstanding. The team is detailed and are committed to following through on customer satisfaction. Our condo went from nice to awesome after the My Hunny Do paint crew came to town. They painted every wall and ceiling and did amazing detail work where paints intersect. They installed cabinets, shelves, light fixtures, outlets, and bathroom fixtures, replacing all of the cheap builder grade items with modern pieces that my wife and I selected beforehand. If you want a team that will treat you and your property right, go with My Hunny Do.

My Hunny Do painted the interior of two floors of my family's single family home, repaired the front porch, re-surfaced the garage floor, painted trim on the outside, and re-stained and sealed our deck. This is the second time My Hunny Do has done work for my family. John, Walter, and his entire team of professionals do outstanding work. They are no nonsense. They give fair and honest quotes for fantastic work. The scope of work for this project was extensive and they followed through on every detail. The house looks amazing and we owe it to My Hunny Do.

From the numbers he gave me, it was obvious he was knowledgeable. His estimate was within $50 of a different estimate. His responsiveness was slow. It took a little while for him back to me but some other providers didn't reply at all.

I gave a B rating for Punctuality because the gentlemen was 15 minutes late. Responsiveness I gave a B, because for the most part the company was responsive to reaching out to us. Professionalism gets an F, because the owner, John, was not at all friendly on the phone. My wife and I both spoke to him and it appeared after hearing the comment "I have to make a living too" that this was simply a money grab. At one point in our conversation John stopped speaking for roughly 10 seconds while I waited for him to negotiate on a price with me. He wanted to charge $200 to remove and then replace one of our toilets. My wife did it in two minutes. After reading many of the Angie's List comments on the owner, I do see how one can make the prognosis that he is "surly". I gave a D for price simply because I don’t think it costs $550 to replace an outside water faucet ($200 Big Deal plus $350 check). Yes, we agreed to pay this price for a multitude of reasons (he's already there, just want to get it done, don't want to deal with another surly contractor), but that doesn't mean we have to be happy with the price. The comment can be made that this business has an A rating with Angie's List. I have no doubt that there are people that have no issues with this business. What I find odd, is that Angie's List skews the user ratings to favor those that have had work completed, while not favoring those who haven't had work done. Wow, I do feel a change. Thank you Angie's List for empowering me!

John and his crew were a pleasure to work with and did a great job. John came to the house the day after I called, gave me an estimate, and showed flexibility and a willingness to work around our family's schedule for when they would paint the house. The workmen arrived on the agreed upon date and were professional in getting the job done with no disruptions of our comings and goings. As agreed, after the work was done (which took 4 days), John came back to do a post completion inspection. Although I thought the workers had done a great job, John found several things he wanted them to redo -- things that I had not noticed but even if I had, I would have thought them too trivial to complain about. Nonetheless, John had one of his guys come back to the house a couple of days later and touch up and repaint the areas John did not think were up to his standards. The fellow was there for almost the entire day. You can't beat service like that. Oh, and John's estimate for the work was by far the lowest we got.

I have been investigating prices and quotes from various providers for exterior house painting. I noticed a Big Deal from My Hunny Do and before purchasing wanted an idea of what the add ons and materials were going to cost. This is the quoted reply: "We have begun a new business model and now ask anyone looking for a free trip to their home. Find one small task that we can agree to a price to in order to offset costs of all the free estimates. So do you have any minor plumbing or carpentry or other home repair needs?" Well, I'm all for paying for an estimate if that's what it takes, but this is a bit forward and frankly off-putting. My Hunny Do has come for an estimate to my house before and John was upfront about costing more for their services. If a company is going to offer a Big Deal then be considerate to your customer and be willing to tell where the hidden costs lie. Furthermore, why would I want a company coming to my house to complete a task when I haven't seen their or work or received an estimate? John is a likable fellow, but I won't be calling him again for any service. I just wanted to share with others this new business model so that they don't end up flabbergasted like me....and be thankful it's me not the husband writing the review.

I had called a number of contractors before this, and most of them didn't understand what I was asking, or wouldn't come out for a relatively small job. I did get several other contractors to provide some advice and one to do some work, but still hadn't gotten the problem solved to prevent future water damage. One of them wanted $1000 to remove the Bilco door, but I wasn't confident that was the solution I needed so I didn't call him back. I then caulked around the door myself, which helped a lot, but didn't completely solve the problem. (I have no other expertise other than what I read on the internet.) I had gone out in storms to take photos, trying to determine where the water was coming in, but the only thing I accomplished was to get wet and to determine that it wasn't coming up from the ground, but down from the sky. John (owner of My Hunny Do) had the presence of mind to turn the garden hose on the area and quickly find the source. It was actually coming in the worst from a vent over the stove, which was about 5 feet over the basement door, running down under the siding, and into the basement stairwell. He and his crew added new caulk, redid my caulk work (correctly), applied DryLock to the stairwell, removed the ceiling of the basement stairwell to examine the structure of the house supports for damage, replaced and finished off the stairwell ceiling. It looks great, and I have confidence that the water damage is now under control. After they finished this part, they intended to come back and add some weatherstripping to help even further. Since it too long for the crews to get back for this very small job, John came back himself and added the weatherstripping at no extra charge. This is the person I will call when I need future work on our house. Knowing not only how to do the work, but what work to do, was what built my confidence in working with My Hunny Do.

I have used My Hunny Do for several projects of varying sizes around my home. I provided John with a list of what I needed and got a competitive quote. Their workers showed up on time, were very professional and got all the work done promptly. I was very pleased with the results. The new vent hood in the kitchen is beautiful and I was happy to finally have all the miscellaneous projects taken care of on the same day.

They were very good and they did an excellent job. Their price was fair but I do not recall the total cost once the service was completed. They did the actual work probably within several days after I purchased the deal.

I called to get a quote on painting because I saw the special for $1899 for 2500 sf. I was not going to purchase unless I had an accurate estimate. I spoke to John and he was very polite on the phone. We had set an appointment, but then he had to cancel. We rescheduled for the following week. He even texted to confirm between 9-10 am. He didn't show so I sent him a text. He said he had lost all of his info that night in his phone (it had broken).. Funny he sent a text late that night. Anyway, after setting that time out of my day he didn't show. I told him I would give him one more chance. He said he would Definately be there the next day. Well, I got an email saying he was sorry and was pulled in all directions and couldn't come. He gave me an insanely high quote site unseen, more than twice another company. To get business you need to set appointments and keep them. Clearly he didn't and I am not sure how one can do business this way.

They emailed and let me know that they don't service my area. They were polite and professional.

I called My Honey Do and right away was unimpressed with the lack of professionalism on the phone. Rather than answering the phone with a professional greeting, I was greeted with "hello?" I of course thought I had the wrong number. I was told they couldn't help with this project since it was too small of a project. This caught me by surprise since their website says they handle all projects from roof to foundation.

We had a very long list of repairs needed to our historic townhouse in Old Town Alexandria. I thought it would take days to have all the various service providers come over but Hunny Do seemingly does it all. We had a bathroom fan repaired, three sets of old faucets replaced, a leak in the pipe to our hot water heater fixed, blinds put up, a broken hinge on a desk repaired, new shut valves put on our hot water heater and a sink, a leaky shower faucet taken apart and renewed, a new toilet kit put in, etc. This was all done in one day by three guys that Hunny Do sent over after Walter came and assessed what needed doing the day before. He then went and bought the faucets, new engine for our bathroom fan, blinds, etc so when the crew came, everything was there for them. The men were all very friendly and efficient and got the list done on that one day. Afterward, we had one small glitch with the plumbing repair and Hunny Do sent someone over the same day to fix it and there was no charge. We had a great experience and plan to use their services for any problem in the future.

We got 3 quotes for powerwashing, prepping, and staining our deck and My Hunny Do came in the lowest. We went with them because of good reviews here on Angie's. We have a large deck, roughly 45 feet by 15 feet with benches that was stained poorly by the previous homeowner (there were missed spots, dried paint drips under the benches). We never used the deck it looked so bad. However, we didn't want it to just rot away and we didn't want to spend a fortune to have it stained. Felix came out and powerwashed the deck, spoke with my wife about stain colors and brands, and we ended up going with a commercial Deck Helmet covering. It was a pleasant experience. The powerwashing was done well. The stain not only looks great, but is thick and no-slip. We'll probably end up using the deck now that it looks so nice. We'd use My Hunny Do again.

My Hunny Do arrived a little later than expected, but repaired the line quickly and made sure that there were no leaks afterward. The plumber was polite and professional and we are very happy with the work.

Handymen arrived exactly on time and were friendly and courteous. Ducting and vent required for external vent were not included in exhaust fan package (which I had purchased and had delivered to my house) so they had to travel to Lowe's to purchase the required material. Overall the job took about 3 hours and looked and worked great when completed. The system vents perfectly to the outside. I would highly recommend them for any handyman jobs.

They come out quick. They are easy to get quotes from. They quote what they tell you it is going to cost. There is usually no add-ons. My renter feels very comfortable with them coming.
