Spoke with John from My Hunny Do and set up an appointment for Saturday, June 7th. The handyman's ETA was set between 10am - 12pm but called me that morning and stated there was unforeseen delays so he was not able to come until a little past 2pm. Walter, the assigned handyman was very pleasant and the job was done in less than 45 minutes. My Hunny Do gave me an approximately 25% discount, so I paid $219 for a $300 job. Highly recommended!

John and his team responded to our need in a very timely manner. Extremely professional. Excellent communication. High Quality work.

They showed up when they said that they would be there and diagnosed the problem. They returned the next day with the tools to solve our problem. Outstanding, professional service from this team. I heartily recommend them. If fact, I already recommended them to a new customer today.

When I talked to him he wanted incredibly high additional charges. He wanted $275 to re[place a faucet.

This was the second year that I have used this provider for miscellaneous handy-man services (I typically prefer to use at least twice before I rate to see if service and work is consistent from one year to the next). There was a bit of a hiccup in the initial contact (my phone call was not returned), but this was quickly resolved and we proceeded to set the appointment for review of the work needed and an estimate. The price was acceptable and a mutually agreeable date was set. The provider arrived at the designated time and completed the work in a timely and satisfactory manner. After we had scheduled the date for the work, an issue came up that required me to leave the house (I had initially thought I would be home all day), but they adjusted their "to-do" list to complete the interior work first to accommodate my changed schedule. While the cost for services from this provided may be considered a little on the high side, given the quality of the work completed and the willingness of the provider to work around my schedule and stand behind his work*, I feel the price is acceptable. I would rather pay a little more to get it done right the first time as opposed to having to pay twice for the same issue. I will not hesitate to use the services of this provided again and I would recommend them to my friends. (*Last year, this provided repaired the gate to my deck as it was "dragging" on the deck surface. After several months of "settling", the gate would not lock properly. I mentioned this when the provider came out for this year's estimate thinking additional work was needed, but the problem was fixed that day at no charge. The basis for not charging, per the provider, was that they had worked on the gate last year and the problem should not have occurred.)

They were patient with having to reschedule a few times due to those pesky spring snow days. Felix arrived on time and discussed options for staining the deck. He did a fantastic job and even replaced some loose boards. I would recommend them!

Without prompting, John followed up with available dates to do the services. Unfortunately, the size of my deck was over the amount of the Big deal coupon and I didn't have the additional funds at the time to complete the work needed. John understood and wasn't rude when I couldn't execute the job.

We purchased a loft in the city (DC) that needed drywall, painting, some electrical and misc. repairs (it had been a rental unit). We did a spreadsheet with all of the details of the project and gave that spreadsheet to 3 contractors to bid. My Hunny Do was 3+ times higher than the next highest bid.

Called this service looking for a handyman for some odd jobs around our house. Spoke with John, who I guess is the owner, who had a surly manner right from the start. I gave him a brief description of what I needed, and he indicated that there would be a $50 estimate fee which would go towards the work. I said that I understood the need, but asked him how I would know that it would truly be applied to the work. He became defensive and suggested that maybe we weren't a good fit because his prices were high commensurate with the quality of the service. At his request I sent him an email describing the work. He wrote back as follows: "After our conversation I wondered if we were the right company because we are not a low priced company. If a concern about paying us $50, which we use simply to cover expenses in case you decide not to do business, is real to you then maybe I better put some prices out there ahead of time so we don't waste either of our time. I know that may seem a little sharp but I have no intention to offend you. So I have put some notes and costs next to the list below." He then quoted me a number of very high prices for the work, $200 to caulk a shower, $350-450 to install a new outdoor spigot (the plumbing is already there), $135 to install a dimmer switch. Despite the fact that I made clear to John that I understood the $50 estimate fee, it was clear that he had written me off as some kind of cheap skate, and didn't want to be bothered with the business I was offering, and wanted to scare me away with some very high prices. Well it worked, he scared me away, and I won't be doing business with him. While My Hunny Do appears to do good work from other reviews, and I have no reason to say anything to the contrary, I found John to be extremely unpleasant and would not recommend them to anyone.

Purchased the $199 power washing and deck stain (up to a certain square footage) for $199. Provider was upfront that the $199 would not cover the cost of staining the entire deck. Additional cost was $400. Provider power washed my deck on a Wednesday and returned, due to scheduling conflicts, 5 days later to stain the deck. The deck looks fine.

Walter Mendoza and his crew were first rate in every respect. I bought the materials--tile, vanity, mirror, light fixture, and obtained an estimate from Walter Mendoza in late February, and agreed on a start date. My Hunny Do started on the agreed date and finished all of the work in five days. They were punctual, neat and accomplished. Having experienced other home renovations in the recent past, I was amazed and impressed at their work.

They came out and tried to up sale things that were already included in the Big Deal. They have come out 3 times, and the job still is not done.

The vendor performed the work to my satifaction. They did an excelleant job considering the roof and the weather.

His name is John Scaniffe. He is not cheap, but the work was good. I had no interactions other than emails. He is a much more professional handyman. He was honest; he told me upfront that he wasn’t cheap. He did a great job. It was worth the money to have it done right. I want people to know that if they call him up, they are not getting the cheapest guy in town.

They responded quickly with an email after I purchased the big deal. We are waiting until after the weather breaks to get the work done.

This company was awesome. I was in the middle of refinishing my bathroom when I had to fire my contractor. Many companies were not interested in finishing a project that had already been started by a different contractor. I needed to get my bathroom completed within three days in order to be ready for my refinancing inspector. The Hunny Do business not only completed the project on time but was able to begin the job a day earlier than they had originally scheduled it. Both bosses came out to inspect the job. They were professional, courteous, and sympathetic to my situation. I would certainly hire this company again and would highly recommend them to anyone. God Bless them! They undoubtedly helped reduce my stress!

I purchased a big deal from Angie’s List. He came out and everything was fine. Everything was fine other than trying to get in touch with him and the communication.

I found out in the morning after trying to take a shower that I had very little hot water. Went to investigate and found that the hot water heater had broken somewhere on the bottom and water was around the base. After shutting off the water, I contacted Angie's List to find a good deal and prompt service, as I needed to go out of town the next day and could not wait to get it fixed. The cost of service and install on Angie's List was $850 for a 40-Gallen Gas Hot Water Heater. Because the service provider could not get out to do the install until 5 p.m. that day, I had to pay an extra $150. Angie's list guaranteed my money back if the service could not be done that day. I, also, did not try anyone else since they did promptly call me back after my initial voice message. They arrived on time and did a good job. After the work was done, the plumber went to show me how the temperature control worked, upon which he found a slight leak in the intake pipe. He, then, immediately fixed it before leaving. Overall, I am glad I could get the service that day but wish I could have avoided paying an extra $150 for late day service. The plumber, along with his brother helping, were very professional and courteous. I would recommend using them.

They are too far away. There were problems in communication, not calling me back. Charges for additional work was high.

The job that they did was fine, but the guy turned the water off and for that, they charged me another 100 and some dollars. Just to look under the sink and say just turn off the water and then charge $100 for it I thought was bit much.

The plumber did a good job. We called 10 minutes after we left about low water pressure, and someone came back to fix the problem free of charge (the faucet was clogged with dirt). I would use them again.

I will have to say My Hunny Do is one of the most Professional, kind, and thurow companies i have ever used. I have a 1980's old town home, 5 years ago i spend allot of money replacing all the pressure water fittings in my house. As you can tell the plumbers who did the job missed allot of them, i have had a leak in my house every month for a year. So you can understand that i as already in a bad mood. When the Hunny do plumber came to my house he was very kind, more kind than i'm used to. He did a great job, he spent more time trying to find the leak then replacing it but at least he took the time right. Great work and people, i will be back again, soon... This time for Laminate Floors :)
