The take-up and installation procedure went pretty well. Everyone arrived on time, worked into the late evening to get the job done and I hard 2 floors of laminate and 3 flights of carpet in about 2 full days.

The price was reasonable. They came after an snow storm, and they said they were still coming. They worked extremely hard. They were hard workers. There were three workers. They had to move furniture. They had to take off the stain of the old floor. Its an very labor intensive process. They put on the new stain, and then poly urethane it. Its a process, then they moved the furniture. The work took three days to complete. The area was very clean. They did the sanding of the old stain, and the application of the new stains. It was a combination of two stains. They did install it very well. There were an language barrier. They know Spanish, and I only know basic Spanish, but it worked out. They came when there was an big snow storm that came in January of 2016.

This is the second time we have used Total Floors. First time was to replace carpet when we had our home rented and this time we changed all of the carpet to hardwood. Total floors quotes the stairs two ways (refinish if in ok condition or new treads/risers). We ended up having to go with the more expensive new treads & risers route due to 8 existing treads being completely cracked I appreciated that these options were quoted up front so the price difference wasn't a surprise when the carpet was removed. The floors look great. No complaints.

We were so very pleased with every aspect of our purchase. Elio came over to the condo to measure and to explain to us that engineered hardwood was our best choice because it would be placed on concrete. We subsequently went to the showroom to pick out what we wanted. They were very accommodating in meeting the regulations of the condo association and our particular time frame. The men who installed the flooring were excellent workers. They noticed that our baseboards were not uniform and that there were even pieces missing. They offered to fix it for us. Every room was done with great care. Some of our rooms were irregularly shaped, but they worked to get the wood installed beautifully. I definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: Just before we moved into our new condo, we had engineered hardwood flooring installed throughout most of the condo. Our condo measures 1525 square feet. We had everything done, except the kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and the entry hall.
We received a reasonable quote from Total Floors to remove our carpet and install hardwood floors. We scheduled the service for a weekend when we would be away, to make it easier on the crew (we have a loud dog). They were supposed to come on Friday and start the work, and when I called to confirm they said the crew was coming but later in the day. We learned through a friend doing house checks that no one came on Friday. On Saturday, they began installation, and our friend took photos of the progress. By the time we came home on Monday, the work was complete, but there were multiple issues: The crew installed the wood over some areas of broken subfloor, and never contacted us to see if that is what we wanted. As a result, one room of the house had a big dip in the floor. We had just painted the house, and they made smudge marks all over the walls, and made dents and scratches. We had just gotten a new washing machine, which they dented in the process. They left our bathroom in disgusting condition. I reached out to the company immediately, and they were apologetic and sent someone to assess the damage. It took a long time, but about a month after the initial installation, the floors had been repaired/reinstalled, the paint fixed (poorly), and the washing machine repaired. When it turned out that the "repair" to the machine actually broke it, they mailed me a check for the cost of the repair. At one point, they tried to assert that I should pay for the new flooring material in the room they had to re-do, even though they were originally responsible for contacting us about any issues in the subfloor. The floors look great, but I would never use this company again. Everything after the price quote and scheduling was a headache.

Total floors was awesome at everything. They gave us an estimate promptly and scheduled the work quickly. They also upgraded the padding at a discounted rate. They did a great job with the install and even installed left over carpet in a utility closet in the basement that was overlooked (by us) in estimation or the scope of the work. They cleaned up thoroughly afterwards as well. The carpet looks great to this day and we've used Total floors on two other properties we own/rent. I highly recommend Albert and Total floors for their professionalism, prices and quality of work.

My experience with Azad and Total Floors was nothing but positive. The process went smoothly from the first e-mail contact to the installation of the floors. Azad was great to work with and was courteous and punctual. I ended up changing my plans and adding the stairs and upstairs hallway to the project after Azad gave me the first estimate for replacing the1st floor hardwoods. He promptly came by to measure the stairs and hallway and updated the estimate so we could add the stairs and hall to the already scheduled work on the 1st floor. The installation crew was efficient and neat. The floors look great, I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. I won't hesitate to use Total Floors again for any future flooring needs. It was a pleasure to work with them.

Several years ago, I hired Total Floors to install a new ceramic tile floor in my bathroom. They gave me the best estimate, were very responsive, courteous, and professional (in stark contrast to other contractors who I contacted), and ultimately did a nice job. They also worked with me on the price of the tile and offered ways to reduce the cost of the project by installing over the existing tile. (I should've posted a review for them years ago when they completed my bathroom floor, and I thought I had, but I guess it slipped my mind until now, so I'm correcting for that error.) Recently, I was in the market for new engineered hardwood floors for my condo. Because I was pleased with Total Floors' service on my bathroom floor project, and I was having such difficulty finding someone good this time around, I planned to use Total Floors again for the hardwood flooring project. Their estimate was the best one that I received. They also had a nice variety of products to choose from and provided informed advice regarding comparative quality and price of the options. Azad Rasulov is a consumate professional, always courteous and responsive and interested in helping. Azad went above and beyond the call of duty to answer my questions and make adjustments to the scope of work to control the cost of the project, even going so far as to offer insight on other estimates I received even after we'd determined that I couldn't use Total Floors this time. I was looking forward to having Total Floors do the work, but as it turned out, because they're not licensed in DC, I couldn't use them for this project, which is the only reason I chose another contractor. I was amazed, though, that Azad still responded to questions that I asked him after we realized that he wouldn't be able to do the project. I felt like I needed an informed perspective on some of the other (inflated) estimates that I received, and Azad was the only person I knew to ask. He provided informed responses in a timely manner. I think that speaks very highly for Azad and Total Floors. I would certainly recommend them to anyone who lives in an area in which Total Floors is licensed, and if they end up getting licensed in DC, I would definitely use them for any future flooring needs.

It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. They claimed their machinery 'broke', causing a major amount of dust from the sanding in every corner of my house, including in all the clothing closets. Even though the sanding machine 'broke', they just continued on, leaving more and more dust. When I came home and asked about it, they just shrugged and said there was a hole in the machine. They also damaged walls, doors, molding. I had to have them come back out to re-do a second coating on the floors. After they finished I had to have the rooms they worked in re-painted (hand prints, smudges, and stain splatters everywhere), and gashes in drywall repaired. I spent hours upon hours cleaning out every closet, cupboard, etc. which were filled with the dust. They even damaged the floors in the rooms where they didn't work! I am not giving them an F on all accounts only because they responded to every concern I raised immediately (even well into the evenings), and sent the sales person out to inspect my home right away. He acknowledged that it was a "once in every five years disaster". Really? They were the best price of three quotes, but it was not worth the few hundred, especially since I spent about $1,500 cleaning up and fixing their mess.

We got three quotes and they were all relatively the same. Total Floors was in the middle but because of a referral, we choose them. The overall quality of the product and the service was good. I choose the product and that was delivered so no complaints there but quality of the service could have been better but it was fair. Overall, we did like the job that was done. The refinished floors look amazing and the color matching was done very well. The new floors look good but I thought the guys would atleast try and flatten or level the floor before installing the new floor. There are so many ups and downs and bumps everywhere. Not to mention creaks and noises when walking on the floor with the new hardwood. We weren't expecting that at all. The guys did a great job cleaning, but still it is very dusty on the walls and in the window sills. I'm not sure why we were told to get the painting done before the floors. That seemed like bad advice and our painter warned us that was a bad decision, but we really wanted to follow Hamid's advice. Also, the guys left so many hand prints on the walls, both of dirty hands and of the refinishing paint. We have to ask the painter to either clean or repaint those areas. Workers did come back to fix and paint things and they only painted the floor boards, not the walls. But the walls were dirtied by the Total Floors workers. My painter repainted some areas, I repainted some, and I've found a couple more places. Regarding dust from the refinishing, they were very clean but there was a thin layer of dust on the walls about 3 ft up to the floor boards. It was so hard to communicate with the guys working as no one spoke English except for the Project Manager. But he wasn't there all the time. And anyway, he does not speak English very well. Plus, he has a very bad attitude. When I first met him and saw his demeanor, I offered to buy the crew breakfast and that helped his attitude throughout the job, but still he was not very easy to work with throughout the course of the job. Also, when he came back for the punchlist items to fix everything, he denied every single thing as being an issue. I did not have the time to argue with him, so just told him what was damaged or incorrect and walked away. It eventually got done. Some stuff was pretty, some was not. For example, he trimmed the door so it fit over the floor transition to the bathroom and the pantry, however the door is now hollow because the trimmed the door too much. Everything was a struggle with him and I think it could have been better if he was more cooperative. We were pleased with the job overall but did want to note these items. I would use them again, but I would also shop around. Also, just to note, I did share alot of what I wrote here to Azad and he responded very positively to my grievances.

It went well. That came in twice to complete every thing.
Description of Work: Total Floors took out the old carpet. Then they installed Luxury Vinyl Planks (Metrofloor brand). There are some areas of the room that required extra attention, like framing around the fireplace. Also there is a rounded step down into the room that was carpeted. Total Floors make a new oak rounded step and stained it to match the floor which is man made. The match is great considering the materials are different. We are pleased with the work.

sanding of the floors were not completed. irresponsible and egregious manner handled the situation. the recklessness is clear. uses illegal works for cheap and a certified manager who runs from site to site not supervising the entire time. Azad, the owner insists that I must have taken my expensive suit and stuffed them into a closet, forgot I stuffed them into a closet, and when no one was looking removed the supporting structure for the shelves in the closet when the ten poorly skilled day labors in my house weren't looking. See note to Azad, owner., below. Azad, The sanding of the floors were not completed. I just returned from vacation and have scheduled contractors to provide a quote to finish the work. I moved what was requested, I have pictures and have well documented the damages you continue to deny (nor interested in viewing pictures when originally confronted); the recklessness is clear. Do you really think I took 15K of my own suits and stuffed them like rags in a closet?? You will receive compensation for the sanding minus the cost to complete the sanding work, minus the cost to clean my suits and garments to a wearable state. You should receive payment within two weeks. This is more than generous considering the irresponsible and egregious manner you handled the situation. If you prefer, we can have this arbitrated by my attorney who has already been briefed on your negligence and will only subtract from the balance. You can call my attorney....

We had a great experience with Total Floors. We needed the carpet in our bedroom replaced and found this company through reviews online. Not only were they the lowest quote we received, but they were very responsive and professional, and their work was great. We would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Installed carpet in our bedroom
After obtaining many quotes, Total Floors gave us the best quote. I have had the carpets replaced three times since we moved into our house in 1986, and can say without hesitation that Total Floors did the best job ever! The hardwood floors are beautiful and flawless. The carpet upstairs looks terrific. Azad is a very pleasant person and answered all questions I had and addressed any issues I had to my complete satisfaction. If I ever need flooring in the future, I will call Total Floors.

Overall, the quality of the worksmanship was very good. Their installers were punctual, courteous and professional. Knowing my family would be coming back to the U.S. this summer to live in a house we've owned but haven't lived in for six years, I contacted a number of companies for estimates of installing new hardwood floors over previously carpeted areas as well as refinished our existing hardwood floors during a quick trip to the area in March. Azad, Sales Manager with Total Floors, responded quickly, surveyed the house with me and sent me an estimate which - while not the least expensive - was detailed and professionally prepared. But, lured by lower cost, I initially chose to go with another contractor who ultimately fell through and let me down at the last minute. With only weeks to go before the moving vans arrived with our belongings, I turned back to Total Floors in a panic. Instead of taking advantage of the situation, Azad worked closely with us to determine what was possible, and when, and was able to fit me in when an unexpected opening appeared, at or below the price he had previously quoted me. Miraculously the job was accomplished in five days (four work days) with time to spare for the oil-based poly refinished floors to dry/cure before our furniture arrived ? whew! Overall I would recommend Total Floors and wouldn't hesitate to use them again (and actually have a few months later ? for carpet replacement in basement and office ? but that?s another review!). They do use several different crews so quality may vary but we had a great experience with Pablo Solorzano and his workers.
Description of Work: -Took up and hauled away the existing carpet and pad in upstairs hallway and bedrooms; -installed ¾” Bruce Solid hardwood, prefinished Oak floors and oak tread and riser in stairs as well as sanded & refinished banister and pole with 2 coats of oil based poly; -sanded & refinished with 2 coats of oil based poly existing hardwood floors in family room, eat-in area, kitchen, dining room and living room on main level; -installed oak transition molding and oak shoe molding. Great experience! Azad was very professional and courteous. He is definitely the most knowledgeable person at the store. I felt like he really cared about making sure that our flooring selection was perfect. The flooring company was concerned that the sample at the storefront was lighter than their floor. Azad informed us right away and offered to drive out samples to our house to make sure. He was extremely responsive to all of my questions. The floor did not end up being too dark. It is completely beautiful. The installers were very fast and professional. After they removed the carpet, the vacuumed the area thoroughly. They even ran out to home depot to pick up a marble threshold for our bathroom and cut and installed it. They put our furniture back into place carefully and vacuumed again once they were done. We have had a lot of work done in our house and these guys were super professional and clean. I highly recommend Total Floors. Their prices were FAR below their competitors and they were extremely helpful and responsive. We love our floors and cannot believe how inexpensive they were!

What an awful experience! Be aware! I chose Total Floors because of Angie's List reviews. Maybe it's under new ownership, whatever it is we have never had such a bad experience with a carpet/floor company, or any company for that matter! We shopped around and got prices for having our wool carpeting cut and edged to fit two rooms in our new home, the owner quoted us $195 and that they could do it on site. I had him send this in "writing" via email. Two weeks later when I called back to set up the job and then he quoted me $295! Big red flag! But they were still the only place willing to come to us and we were in the middle of a move so I went with it. Big mistake! And it was two weeks before the movers would arrive. So the two man crew arrives in an old, beat up van with no name or anything on it. Before I know it they drag our beautiful, high quality carpeting and padding out ON TO THE STREET! The dirty, gritty pavement!!!!! Fine, I'll vacuum it and try not to think about the grit on the underside of the padding..... I went about by business and didn't watch them do their work. They finished and left and I rolled out the carpeting happy to check another job off my list. Well to my horror these amateurs had sliced the carpeting ALL THE WAY THROUGH! From one side to the other, the carpeting was ruined. One vacuum and it would start unraveling! This carpeting was less than two years old and was VERY expensive. RUINED! They apparently stacked the pieces on top of each other and the cut it. Carpet cutting 101 mistake..... I immediately emailed the owner and spoke with him the next day... He said he would have to come look at it but couldn't come until the next week. Remember now the clock it ticking on the movers arriving. When he did visit he was confrontational but even he finally had to admit it was his guys fault....they were clearly fresh razor/knife cuts through the carpet....both pieces. He seemed to be willing to do the right thing...in the beginning. With his help we found a similar carpeting, this after he tried to replace our wool carpet with cheap nylon or some such material carpet. He gave us a song and dance about how wool doesn't last...please, my parents have beautiful wool carpeting that has lasted beautifully for years, with a cleaning every year...... We insisted our carpeting be replaced with a similar product. Our carpeting had been discontinued so we had to settle for something similar looking that we didn't like as much. He then calls us and tells us it will be three weeks before he can get it. What?!? So now we can't move all our furniture in OR we have it moved in, then moved out then moved back in.... So we had to pay to get a storage unit to store all our first floor furniture and then pay a second time to move it to our home!!!! All of this over a $300 simple carpet job. At this point we decided not to make a big deal because this guy still seemed to be trying, I own a small business, I am reasonable and I know life happens..... Finally the carpet arrives, the delivery guy just carried it in rolled up and left and was unwilling to help me roll it out....isn't that what carpet companies do as part of their service? We never heard anything more or received an invoice. I thought that was very fair given how badly they put us out. Two months later I get an angry phone call from the owner, Azad yelling at me and demanding payment...um we never received a bill, I explained this to him and he yelled through the phone that he was sending it to bill collectors!!!!! WHAT? And then hung up on me. So I called him back and explained I didn't say I wouldn't pay it, but he better take a minute and hear what he out us through. He clearly didn't believe we didn't receive the bill, he just went on and on about how much the replacement carpet cost him. Well Azad don't rub that in your customers face, rub it in your installer's face!!!! So I told him to send us the bill....$300 is not worth all these threats and heartache. So ten minutes later he calls back saying the emailed bill bounced back to him and that he needed another email. To which I said HA! So maybe we didn't get you bill after all!!!! He continued to be nasty by email when we did get the bill. I explained to him that the next time a customer doesn't pay a bill in a timely manner maybe, instead of calling a customer and yelling at them, maybe he should check first and not solely rely on email to do his business . He just complained that i should have updated him with our new email. Yeah, right OK in the middle of everything going on I am going to think to update a carpet company with my new email...Maybe he could have actually mailed a paper bill before he assumed we were deadbeats. And if that weren't enough, the replacement carpet is a of lesser quality than our original carpet, it already has pulls in five place. Stay away from this company!!!!!!!! Oh, and for what it is worth, we received the bill on a Friday and the check was mailed on the following Tuesday.
Description of Work: Cut and edge high quality wool carpeting we had moved from our previous home to our new home.
The arrival of the installers was delayed and I would have appreciated a phone call. On the positive side, the carpet was of high quality, the installation was fine, and the price was very fair. I am a real estate agent and use this company frequently. So yes, I would recommend them highly. They come out and measure, show samples and discuss options, and help you make the best choice for your needs and your budget. They do not oversell or pressure you.
Description of Work: They replaced all the carpeting in a 2-bedroom condo.
