I’m very happy with my overall experience with Solid Kitchen & Bath, which remodeled my entire house from beginning to end. Mine was a particularly complex job, entailing major structural remediation as my home had been severely water damaged, leading to a severe mold and rot problem that was not initially evident when Ike, the sales manager, gave me his initial estimate. Ike worked very hard to bring the different craftsmen in to tackle the various stages of this job, and kept me closely apprised every step of the way. He was responsive to my concerns and input. He was particularly good at dealing with the county permit and inspection office, personally waiting on-site on countless occasions for the county inspector to arrive, and he dedicated an inordinate amount of time down at the county permit office navigating through the intricacies of government red-tape which a major remodel project like mine entailed. Whenever there was some detail I wasn’t pleased with, he bent over backwards to do it again, until he got it right and to my liking. His primary concern is making sure his client ends up with a final product that he can be proud of, and confident that the workmanship was of the highest quality. And it shows. Judging by my own experience, I can say he's a straight shooter and very fair in his pricing and overall dealings with his clients. I would recommend Solid Kitchen and Bath unequivocally to anyone who seeks to remodel a bath, kitchen, basement or as in my case, the whole house. I am very grateful to Ike and his whole team for the extraordinary job they did. Brian Ross

Completed on-time and on-budget. A few minor punch list items remained after they left, but the team came out promptly to followup and we are very satisfied with the work. The biggest thing Solid K&B have going for them is the quality of their customer service. Ayk (Ike) is prompt and thoughtful. Communication from start to finish was excellent. The workmanship was "solid", we didn't have anything exotic or complicated with the project, so many companies could have performed the work just as well, but Solid K&B set themselves apart with a high level of customer attention, which we appreciated.

Once again, we were blown away by the professionalism and kindness shown to us from everyone involved. But specifically, we'd like to thank Emre K. and Ike who again, went way out of their way to ensure that all of our "quirky" wants were met.

As in all projects there will be little hiccups. But nothing seemed to phase either Emre or Ike. No matter how small the issue was, they responded immediately and corrected the issue.

It has been over a year since the first phase of our kitchen remodel (to include a Powder Room remodel) and we were really impressed that Solid K&B took the time to perform minor touch ups from previous projects. This really showed us that a customer's relationship with Solid K&B is not over simply because the project is complete!

We are already compiling our list of future projects (Bath Room, Laundry Room, Stairs, etc..) and we can't wait to call upon Solid once again. Your integrity and professionalism will keep us coming back time and time again!

They were nice on time clean and prompt. EmKa was our project manager and he was a master builder. If you have questikns, he has answers. Ike was the sales manager and both him and Sirin helped us pick all the materials. Highly recommeneded. Will be working with them again next summer for our other bathroom remodel project. Keep up the good work team.

Incredible. Solid was a great pleasure to work with. We found the company from a local magazine ads and decided to call them to see if they can come and give us design ideas and a free estimate. Ike from the sales department came the next day to visit our house. He was truly a sweetheart. He definitely knows a about houses. He did not only tell us which walls are load bearing and which are not he thought us the secret of figuring it out just by looking at it. He was very knowledgable and personable. We decided to give them a shot and we drove to Solid's showroom in old town the next weekend. Sirin was the manager of showroom and she came up with a lot of designs sets and materials for our projects. By time we walked out of the showroom we had samples and a written quote and a ten notating start date. We loved everything about the proposal but we did not feel like singing it there so we decided to sleep on it. Next day my wife told me that she wants to work with Ike for the project. We decided to skip the other two companies and signed a contract with Solid. The project started approximately two weeks later and we were gone all the time. Marlo from the operations team was calling everyday to give us updates and he was sending pictures and videos of the projects. We came back 3 weeks and it was incredible. Everything was ready and the house was spotless clean. We decided to refer them to my wife's brother for more work and he just signed his remodel contract today with Solid. I got no doubt that they will be very happy with the outcome as well.

This company is a delight to work with. Ike, the owner, has assembled a close-knit team of experts. These people are colleagues and friends who work closely together and provide seamless service. If you email with a question, they are extremely responsive. If you call the office, anyone who answers can assist--everyone at Solid knows what is needed on your job.
fixturesTheir contract clearly outlined the scope of work and provided pictures of chosen products. Emke, the head of operations, took the measurements and supervised the demolition and construction. Sirin, who has a wealth of design experience, helped with tile and counter choices in their attractive showroom that carries top-of-the-line fixtures and vanities. She coordinated the order and ensured that every building material and fixture was on hand before the job began. All three came to check on the job progress.
The main bath was gutted, retaining only the porcelain tub. Solid tiled the tub enclosure to the ceiling, and tlled the other walls to a four-foot height; replaced the tile floor; replaced the toilet; installed two pairs of sconces; installed two shower heads; and added a quartz counter with undercount porcelain sink. Provided a custom-framed mirror to match the cabinet. Their carpenter customized a new vanity to fit a narrow depth--cut it down expertly, including the drawers, and created custom matching shelving to expand the width. They painted ceiling, remaining untiled wall spaces, linen closet and wood trim. They indicated the work would take about 15 workdays, but actually finished in 12.
We contracted for extra work while they were on site, replacing a toilet, repairing 4 cracked floor tiles, and replacing porcelain sinks and quartz counters in other baths.
There were no surprises--their contract covered everything.
Two months after the job, I called about a problem caulk area and a sticking door in the new bath and they came right away to correct the problems.
Dealing with Solid is effortless for people who live it Old Town--they are based here and you can make all your design choices without driving all over to tile and plumbing supply houses. I would definitely use Solid again and tell all my friends to do so, too.

FABULOUS! I absolutely love my new kitchen. Solid Kitchen and Bath told me it would be a 3 week job; they completed the work on schedule. In addition, I was not at home during 10 days of the remodel. The Project Manager would send me pictures to ensure I had visibility of progress. The team was extremely professional - from the sales staff to the individuals performing the work. I would absolutely hire thus company again.

Solid was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end, and we love the final outcome. They were professional, timely, and thoughtful in their guidance. They welcomed my input - I have very strong ideas about how things should look! - but also ensured that function met form. They started when they said they would start, ended when they said when they would end, and there were never any major hiccups or additional expenses. Most importantly, I appreciate what a relationship-based business it is; by the end of the project, I knew the team extremely well because it was the same core group of people, not a rotating cast of characters traipsing in and out of my house. Nothing like being able to trust and like the people working on your home! We plan on returning to them when it's time to renovate our kitchen. Highly, highly recommend!

We are incredibly happy with the end result.  SKB was responsive to all requests.  Any problems were fixed immediately. We only had one issue - a slight delay caused by a cabinet order mistake.
Overall, very easy to work with, very good service, and outstanding end product.

Thought the entire process SKB was very attentive to our needs. They provided multiple design scenarios and worked with us extensively until we had settled on the final design. If we had any issues, hesitations Ike and his team took the time to meet with us, answer all of our questions and make sure we were comfortable with what was going to occur. Once the renovation began the workers were very diligent about making sure to the best of their abilities the dust and dirt from the renovation didn't spread to other areas of the house. The project took two weeks which was what we were told from the outset. Ike and EM consulted with us throughout the project when we had questions or if they wanted us to see something in case we wanted to make any changes. Ike and Em were responsive to final touch up issues and came over multiple times to make sure the project was completed to our liking. From design to finished product we were very happy with Skbs work.

We are very impressed and happy with every step of the process!
From the first visit to their office / showroom to the last final inspection, they are a team of fantastic professionals!
What sold me initially was their use of software to provide to the customer 3D renderings of the design. When I was shopping around for companies to perform the work, this was the only company that offered such a service. The 3D renderings allowed me to actually visualize what they were suggesting. At the end of the day, it's amazing how close the finished product turned out just like the proposed rendering.
We are a family with 2 children under 2 and they went out of their way to accommodate us. It isn't always easy to get the four of us to their office and discuss design elements, so they brought their office to US (on more than one occasion)!
They also made sure that through the entire construction time frame, that we had easy access to our existing refrigerator. Perhaps that is the norm in the industry, but we certainly weren't expecting that level of courtesy and thoughtfulness.
They were very receptive to our ideas and questions. They acknowledged and appreciated our budget and worked magic to stay within our constraints but still deliver a superb product!
We also have two very small dogs. During the entire construction process, their team too extra steps to ensure a safe environment for our family and pets.
What I am thrilled with most is how accommodating they were when I would write and or call with random changes. They didn't sigh and shake their head at me, rather they smiled and said, "you got it"! But, they also understand the dynamics of our family and made sure that what I was asking for, was in fact the right way to go.
Being that this was the first project of this scope that we have ever stated, Solid really nailed a home run for us! Without me even asking, they went ahead and performed little patches and touch ups on the walls that weren't even a part of the project!
All in all, we couldn't be any happier with their work and service! They completed the project on time (actually early) and delivered at the cost that we agreed upon.
We look forward to hiring Solid again for our other 2 bathrooms!

The process was simple.  We started with an in home walk through of the work I wanted done with Ike.  I then met the team at their showroom in Alexandria.  I was presented with tons of options to pick through for my cabinets and hardware, floor tile, backspash, lights and faucets.  We built a mock up of my new kitchen so I could see what everything would look like.
We did a second walk through of my house with Ertan, who would over see the project.  As I do not currently live in the house, I received photos every couple of days showing me the progess of the remodel.  Thw whole thing took less than three weeks and now I have a beautiful kitchen and bath.
Having Solid Kitchen and Bath do the floors was an after thought, but I am so glad they did.  Overall I am very pleased with the work done and am already thinking through the future projects.

Everything was totally professional from beginning to end.  The estimate was made by a salesperson who integrated perfectly with a project manager and his workers.  There was difficulty getting going because the work was to be done in a condominium high rise, which has a variety or regulations directing projects of this sort.  The personnel interacted well with the condominium personnel, and despite delays that were caused by the need to follow the regulations, the Solid Kitchen and Bath people demonstrated flexibility, as well as an ability to keep to the schedules they had put forth.  We were, in short, very happy with all aspects of the work and with the finished product.  We would use them again, and we have already recommended them to others.

I met with Ayk and Ertan toward the end of October to get a quote to level my kitchen hallway floor which had sagged due to settling.  I also wanted to get the kitchen renovated and have one full and one half bathroom renovated.  I really appreciated that they arrived exactly when they said they would, took pictures, had suggestions, and then took ten minutes or so to come up with a quote. I really liked that instead of having to wait a few days or week for a quote!  I was so impressed with them and their manner that I decided to go ahead with the project.
I went to their showroom in Old Town, Alexandria the following Sunday, to pick out granite, cabinets, flooring and bathroom fixtures.  It was wonderful that all of it was available there, in one place.  Ertan, the designer, had completed some 3-D computer drawings for the renovations, which made the visualization so much easier!  They also served me delicious Turkish coffee, of which I am very fond.
The work began as they promised right before Thanksgiving.  My project manager was Emre K. and he has been wonderful through the whole project-always willing to do whatever is needed to help me out through the construction phase.  He even moved some of the furniture I was getting rid of out to the garage and put together bar stools that I had ordered for the new counter. He and Ayk helped me to clear out the kitchen cabinets before the renovation started; a great help with a daunting task.  I was so surprised and glad that throughout the renovations my emails and/or phone calls were ALWAYS responded to within the same day, often within the hour.  That kind of reliability is outstanding and gratifying.  Jose and his construction team were at the house everyday, even Saturdays, so the work continued smoothly and continuously.  Again, I have never experienced such reliability from contractors.
I was so pleased with their work that I met with Ayk to set up new projects 2,3 and 4!  This included renovating two more bathrooms, installing carpet in the family room, pulling up carpet in the rest of the house to refinish the underlying hardwood floors, painting most of the rooms and ceilings in the house, fixing an outdated and corroded circuit box, fixing plumbing that had been incorrectly or negligently installed in the first place, installing overhead lighting in 2 rooms and the upstairs hallway, and correcting various electrical issues that came up in the course of the work.  We finished the projects at the end of January 2015-exactly when Ayk said they would.
I am so pleased with all the work and with the responsiveness of the whole team of people at SKB that I would whole heartedly recommended them to everyone.  Once all  the work was completed, Ayk came through with Emre and marked all the spots he felt needed some finishing touches-he found more than I did and as a write this, that work will be completed tomorrow.
I met most of the team at SKB throughout the projects, and they became like a family to me, particularly Aik (Ike), Ertan, Emre K and the lead construction manager, Jose.  I always felt that they cared about me and my house, and were invested in getting it exactly the way I wanted it to be.
When the refinishing of the floors caused odors that would make it uncomfortable for me to sleep in the house, the company put me up in a local hotel for a few days.  That type of courtesy, kindness and generosity makes me feel like family.
It has been a wonderful experience to work with SKB!  I have nothing but good feelings about the past 2 months of renovation and the house is absolutely beautiful.  I can't say too often how wonderful, considerate, talented, reliable and fair Solid Kitchen and Baths is as a team and as individuals. The price was very fair, the work impeccable and I am so pleased with the outcome.

They did a very nice job?from helping to pick out the granite for the counter and the marble for the backsplash, as well as the sink.
Their work was very good, they were very responsive to any issues that came up and when there were issues, we didn't have to worry about them, as they took care of them.
We are planning on doing more work with them!  They are great to work with, their pricing is fair and we recommend them.  And if you live in Old Town Alexandria, it is nice to support local businesses that are good!

It was smooth process since beginning to the end. They came to our office in time as we have scheduled on phone. Ike was the one who came first and ask for our ideas and gave us some preliminary insight about how it will be done. He said he is going to send us some design works to get started, so he did within 2 days. Design images were very impressive it was hard to say 'design renderings' to these 'photos' they were so real. After asking for little changes they invited us to their showroom to pick actual materials, they have plenty of options for each and every material that we needed for our project, we met Akin (interior designer) who actually done the design work, he helped us to pick the materials and the selection outcome was great! We had quotes from different companies and Solid's estimate was higher than the other ones but their friendliness and professionalism was persuasive enough for us to go with them. After we signed the contract we have been introduced to the PM of our project; Ertan. He managed the time, budget and the project itself very well, he and his team were liable to work even after-hours since we needed to use our office some days during the project so they arranged their schedule based on our schedule. The outcome is great, we feel confident that the money we paid worth every single cents. They are tactful, professional and friendly. We are completely satisfied with the entire process.

SOLID Kitchen & Bath did an outstanding job on my kichen and bath renovation project. The began the work on the agreed date, worked six days a week without interruption and finished ahead of schedule. Their project manager provided frequent status updates. The craftsmanship was outstanding. The carefully protected areas of my home adacent to the work zone and cleaned at the end of each work day. The SOLID team fully met my expectations.

We found Solid Kitchen and Bath via an article on a local newspaper and decided to contact them about our needs. They visited us and we sat down and talked about what needs to be done to maximize the space. they have seen aspect of the project that we did not realize. They made some suggestions and we decided toi let them come out with the optimal design. Couple days after the initial contact Solid's designer Akin got back with preliminery design ideas. They were very impressing but they way they designed the space was more modern than we were looking to have. We gave them some feedback to change some of the materials and some of the basic elements. They updated the design and sent us an email the next day with a ballpark price quote attached to it. The figures on the ballpark price were reasonable ( but the ballpark price had a wider range than usual) so we decided to visit their showroom. I must say the Turkish coffee that they served hit the spot while were picking up materials for the remodel project. it was a painless process we didnot end up driving all around the town to see tiles, faucets, toilets, cabinets etc. Everything was literally under one roof. Their sales manager Ike was very helpful on giving useful tips on the design and what to pick. At that point we were confident that if we were going to have this project done we wanted Solid to build it.
Fast forward next day Ike and Anton came to our house with a proposal. They had a reasonable financial figure but also a plan. They had an Microsoft Project timeline prepared telling us what will happen when. Everything looked very organised and all the paperwork, licenses, bonds and insurances were in place ( our buildin management requires the contractors to be licensed A Class) Anyhow we decided to sign the contract next day. When we were handing the check to them they gave us a written finish date for the project, I guess not many companies does that.
we scheduled the project to take place during the time when we were overseas to minimize the impact of project in our lives. A month later we left them the keys and went to my husbands home country to visit family. During the time we were gone their project manager EmK was sending us daily uodates of the project and pictures and every friday he was sending us a video of the house.
Needless to say it was quite good to be far away while the actual work took place,On our last week of the vacation a week before the promissed timeframe solid's project manager sent us an email video stating that the entire project has been finished and the house had a professional cleaning service. We just got back couple days ago back to US and we fell in love with our house. Thanks Solid Kitchen and Bath you guys were amazing.

We have family that lives close by so we decided to move out for two weeks rather than try to live in a house while the Kitchen and Bathroom were being torn apart.  They started promptly on schedule and did the demolition in a few days.  We stopped by from time to time and noticed how much care they had put into covering up furniture and carpeting.
The entire job was completed two days ahead of schedule and my husband and I are ecstatic about the results.  It's amazing how remodeling the kitchen and two baths made the entire home feel more light and modern.  They had opened up the kitchen to better flow into the living and dining room it changed the entire dynamic of the house.  We love our newly remodeled home so much that we're now considering staying here a few more years until it becomes a sellers market again.

We had Ayk come out to discuss what we wanted to do within our budget and time frame as soon as my parents left.  Four days later he was ready with the design, materials, and work schedule.  We knew it would be difficult to get everything we wanted with our budget and time frame but my sisters and I were nicely surprised by what he offered us in material, brand names, and workmanship.
My father had maintained and kept everything as updated as possible over the years.  Instead of just ripping out everything and starting from scratch Ayk managed to integrate the old and the new to create a seamless modern design for both the Kitchen and Baths.  While staying within our tight budget and timeline.
Since the home was empty his crew was able to start work within a few days after the design was completed.  I stopped by every few days and I could see that they were making solid progress every time I checked on them.  They took great pains to cover and tape up anything that wasn't being upgraded and I was impressed with their craftsmanship.  The work progressed on schedule with only a minor delay due to shipping and delivery issues.  However, they were able to maintain their schedule by working late when the parts finally arrived.
The entire project was completed one week before my parents were to come back and my sisters and I couldn't be happier with the results.  They also somehow managed to do the entire project ahead of schedule and under budget.  My parents were blown away when they came back to see the results and I could hear my mom murmuring how she couldn't believe she was back in the same house they had left just two months earlier.

The work started with a complete demolition of the old cabinets and counters. They took great pains to contain most of the dust and debris and they were successful. The hauled out the old counters and cabinets in a very timely manner which pleased me greatly. The entire work crew was very courteous and they try to please. They clean up after themselves after every phase of the work. Then they created a new wider entryway to the kitchen. After that they wired the ceiling for the new recessed lighting and closed up the old entryway.  Following that came the hanging of the the new cabinets, the counter tops (including the new sink). The final phase included new crown molding, painting, and floor refinishing. Everything went so smoothly and they were finished within three weeks time. I can't say enough good things about SCW (I'm starting to sound like a commercial).
