I recently switched to Solace Day Spa from Solace Nail Spa for manicures/pedicures and it's been a welcome change. Turnover at Solace Nail Spa was frequent and the gel manicures were sloppy and expensive. Solace Day Spa's manicurists (I use Lee and Lilly) are excellent, friendly, and do a great job. I also had my hair recently done by Divo for the first time ( (color, soften highlights, and cut) and he did a super job on all fronts, at almost 1/2 the cost of my previous salon (London Bob Hair Salon)! Overall very happy with Solace Day Spa's services.

I've been to Solace Day Spa on Richmond Hwy in Alexandria several times for massage therapy with Don Trang. He is excellent. Very effective. He listens, and has created a very nice atmosphere for massage. The table is comfortable, heated, and hot towels are provided. The staff has been nice and helpful. My only complaint is that they aren't open later, but they are open after most people's work hours, so not a big deal. It has been easy for me to get an appointment for the time period I was interested in. The service is great, and reasonlably priced. The price I listed above was for 2 hour massages, plus a 1 1/2 hour massage all together. The were able to fit me in for all of the massages with a couple of day notice. I have not used the other services at Solace Day Spa, but I'm sure I will at some point.

I was greated at front desk and lead to my manicurist then asked if I would like anything to drink. After my manicure I had a pedicure and again wa

asked If I wanted anything to drink. I was given a nice warm shoulder aromic bean bag and eye covers what with this and the GREAT massage chaie I went to sleep while my pedicure was done. What a relaxing event for me. I do have to say again that every now and then someone will use their cell phone thus itterupting the mood. Again this is not the salons fault but rather the inconsiderations of others.

I was excited to take a relaxing day for myself and treat myself to a warm pedicure. I recently moved to the area and have been wanting to try their services. My place looked inviting. When i walked in, there were 6 or 7 employees huddled in the front desk. Everyone was super friendly including the guy who was about to do my service. I was going to pay approximately 35 for a pedicure and ofcourse, i assumed that I can put a tip on my card. As I was about to sit, I asked the very rude young lady up front if I can ofcourse put the tip on my card. She rudelly said no, my only two option are to walk to an ATM or pay them their tip by check. mind you, that is, I pay for the service by card, and the tip ONLY by check. ridiculous and very bad attitude. I am never going back there. So, I left and decided that i'm not giving them my business. what a shame! they need to train her how to speak properly to customers and they need someone more mature upfront.

I like them a lot. It's a nice clean facility with an inviting atmosphere. The people are nice.

I have been getting massages for over 10 years now. I know a good massage from bad, I can ascertain whether a masseuse has knowledge of muscle, tendon, and lymph-system anatomy, and whether he/she possesses even the most elementary of skills in the art / science of massage. Based on my experiences at this, and another day spa in Alexandria, VA., it appears that spas in this area must be hiring unqualified individuals off of the street, or massage school drop-outs, or other types of individuals with next-to-nothing knowledge of massage therapy to simply pour and stroke oil on customer's bodies.
