I really like Serenity Day spa. The staff are all very good and personable. I went for a hot stone massage and it was lovely. I really like that when you go for services that they don't try to sell you a bunch of products.

The atmosphere is really nice and very peaceful. All of the hairdresser and ndash; they are very protective with their client like they say and ndash; do you want to chat like you chat even though you don't like you know which I really like as well. They're very chatty but they will not just sat there and push you to try to talk and tell anything and they fit to what their clients wants.

I think they are so good. They do massages. It's a complete spa experience, if you want it. I only want them to do my hair. I have been just amazed at the results I've gotten from them. They are very expensive. It's absolutely worth it. My hair is especially important to me because I have a problem with my neck that I need special hair care to sort of minimize the appearance of my neck. I was in a car accident. That's one of the reasons why I'm willing to spend that kind of money because my hair is important in terms of my overall appearance. For a very upscale, full-service salon in the Washington, D.C. area, I considered the price to be comparable to other establishments. Georgetown is the only other place you could go to get this level of expertise and the price would be the same. I think it's worth every cent that I paid. They are just the best but it is very upscale.

In general, I find the Serenity Day Spa to be a pretty good place for massages, which is the service I most often use. On this occasion, I had a massage, which was good and a facial. I was a little apprehensive, as I typically don't like facials but I wanted one prior to my upcoming wedding. I was greeted by Lida, who made me comfortable and talked about the general process for the appointment. As I started feeling more comfortable and settled, Lida tried to upsell me on some upgraded facial, stressing how dire it was for my face prior to the wedding. It really threw me off and put me in an awkward position. I felt obligated to say yes to something I didn't really want, based on how she positioned it. The rest of the service was fine and she did a good job to communicate throughout the process of what she was applying or doing. Until the end...I was required to sign some form basically indicating that if I had any problems or bad reactions, the spa was not accountable. She did give me some take-home creams, which I appreciated. However, I didn't enjoy the experience and would not come back to her for this service. I had an appointment with her the following week for a different service, but I cancelled. I didn't want to be put in an another awkward situation.

My son has acne and friends suggested a facial. He was a little embarrassed but the provider made him feel at ease so much so that he went back for another appointment....if a 17 year old boy is willing to walk into a day spa....it's got to be good.

Wonderful staff helped decide which services worked best for me, and my first visit. Serenity became my new favorite place!

I like the entire atmosphere and they serve coffee before rendering any other services. They also do pedicures, manicures, etc. The staff is very good and competent. I like their services and will use the same in future.
