They were expensive but they did a good job. They were professional. They were friendly.

I needed an inspection for my chimney to see if there was a problem with the venting, but was having a lot of trouble finding a company who could accomplish this. This is because I have a very old gas appliance which has a very small vent diameter which apparently doesn't allow for the cameras of chimney sweeps to fit. I finally called Rooftop Chimney Sweeps to see if they might be able to help. The owner returned my call and spent nearly 30 minutes asking questions and getting more information about my fireplace/chimney concerns. He even brought up my address on Google Maps to look at my building and review the chimney structure, etc. to help determine what kind of inspection could be done. I really appreciated the time he took speaking with me, and it's clear he is extremely knowledgeable. An appointment was set for a few weeks later. The technician (Perry) and assistant (Christopher?) that visited were very friendly and polite, took COVID precautions, and were also conscientious about keeping things clean during their work. They were very thorough, inspecting both inside and outside on the roof. They even found a way to scope the chimney despite the small vent. I was able to see the video of the vent as they were scoping the chimney. An inspection report was sent to me later that day. I am very pleased with the service I received and feel much better now about the safety of my chimney and fireplace.

My experience with Rooftop Chimney was very positive. I highly recommend the company. From the moment I first called their office and scheduled an appointment to the inspection itself to payment, Rooftop was professional, punctual, efficient and thorough. They used a Go-Pro camera and a drone-mounted camera to get a complete picture of the inside and outside of my two chimneys and fireplaces. Griffin patiently and clearly explained what he found, showed me the video and photos, and gave me some recommendations. At no point did he press me to buy additional services and actually saved me money by telling me it was not necessary to clean the chimneys this year. At my request he gave me an estimate for conversion of the wood-burning fireplaces to gas-fired. They were meticulous about covering the carpet and floor where they were working and wore plastic hospital type covers over their shoes when inside the house. They were very polite and respectful, including toward my two overly-curious dogs who monitored their every movement. I appreciated their office calling me a day ahead to remind me of the appointment and the guys showing up not only on time but a few minutes early. I will definitely hire Rooftop again for future inspections and work.

Curtis arrived on time, was very courteous, professional and efficient. He cleaned the dryer vent thoroughly and inspected the dryer itself. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and clear in his explanations about what was to be done and how. Curtis also cleaned up thoroughly and make sure no excess lint had blown about. The price for the service was extremely reasonable, especially as there was a special on at the time. This is the best dryer vent service experience that I have had in the 15 years I have been in Alexandria. I would highly recommend this service.

In anticipation of home sale, Rooftop Chimney provided flue inspections for my two fireplaces, as well as dryer duct cleaning. I got their name from my home inspector. During the flue inspection, they were able to show me —in realtime on an iPad— the damage to my 40-year-old terra cotta flues and explain my options for repair; they followed up emailing a written report. One always knows, this kind of work is simply expensive, but they had it scheduled it within a week, performed it in 2/3 of the time they had scheduled, kept everything tidy (indoors and out), and performed well beyond my expectations. They even managed to vacate the house an hour before I'd asked them to be done for a realtor's visit! Sam and the crew were professional, friendly, and worked very **** ** hot days to get the job done quickly. I am very happy to recommend Rooftop Chimney and I'll be handing them to the new owners.

Just 2 people did the service, it took like 2 hours to complete the service. They were thorough, they told us a couple of things that we should watch out for. Just cleaning my chimney out, they gave us suggestions of how to clean it going forward.

Even though we only used them for an inspection, they were the best contractors I've ever met. They were punctual, thorough, and very polite. They protected all of our furniture with a clean drop cloth.

We reviewed the repair alternatives and determined that relining the flue (the cracks were in the joints between the flue liners) with a cement-like substance was best. Rooftop was able to finish the entire project within the day.

Was told be another Chimney Sweep that our chimney had collapsed in on itself, which was why our gas fireplace was backing up into the house. Art came out and showed us via camera that that wasn't the case, told us what was REALLY happening and what we could/should do about it. The price to reline out chimney was half of the price the other guys quote. I expected a mess, as they have to break out the old ceramic liner. Not a bit of mess, dust or dirt in the house, they were very respectful of all of our belongings, even putting them back in place on the mantle after they were finished.

I was so impressed with this company. We had two failing chimneys in a recently purchased home. They came and evaluated (and photographed) the situation. They gave us a very specific estimate. We then expressed an interest in gas inserts rather than rebuilding the chimney liners and they worked with us to make that happen. They also brought in excellent support services and installed the two new gas inserts. Everyone was wonderful to work with and they left our home spotless. I would give them 10 stars if I could!
