We completed a major renovation of our house and Satch installed two
split unit systems for our basement apartment and a large central
heating and cooling unit upstairs. This included the two inside heat
pump units, the freon lines, drainage system, and outdoor compressor
for the downstairs unit, gas fired heating unit and outdoor condensing
unit for the upstairs.
Satch is a true professional. He tested all the systems, explained
everything he was doing, worked with us to change the system when we
wanted to move it in our plans, and showed up several times on nights
and weekends to troubleshoot and stuck around until everything worked
right.For example, he changed the blower for us for free because we
wanted something quieter than originally specified.
He was working with us through our general contractor, who hires great
subcontractors like him, but he also does work independently. He works
hard, and cares a lot about doing the job right. He really went the
extra mile for us.
Overall, we renovated the entire house, taking out two boilers and a
dozen or so radiators and creating central HVAC, removing all load
bearing walls, digging out a front entrance, etc. The total job was
about $170,000, but I am not sure the portion for Satch?s work was, as
HVAC was only one relatively small task. It was certainly very
reasonable and we had priced other companies to see if we wanted to
use our GC or not for the job, but the price was very fair and the
service was truly exceptional.We highly recommend him.

Overall I was very pleased. This is the third or fourth time I used this gentleman. I used him originally to install my outside unit. The second or third time he was out he showed me how to fix the problem myself. His rates are more then fair and he has come out twice on weekends.

I thought I needed to buy a new a/c system because it neither heated or cooled the house properly. Previous a/c companies had quoted me huge sums for a complete replacement (over $3000). Satch teaches a/c maintenance at trade schools so I thought he might have a broader perspective on the problem. He tested the system and recognized that too much freon was in the system. He also discovered that the heat pack in the air handler had been incorrectly wired. Both these were fixed and today my a/c is running 5 Centigrade cooler. Furthermore It will be warmer in winter because the heat pump and heat pack will produce more heat . So you can figure out the savings and the benefits. My girlfriend also did not like the thermostat so he replaced it with a different kind. Satch saw me as more than an invoice. He really had my interest at heart and solved a problem that no one before him could. If you want an a/c company whose employees are honest, enthusiastic, courteous and extremely well trained go with this one.
