PROFFIT BROTHERS

Proffit Brothers is an Alexandria -based (local for us) paving company recommended to us by a neighbor.  Prior to contacting them we had received two estimates from highly rated Angie's List companies but the prices quoted were higher than we had expected. Tee Proffit  came out the same day we called and gave us an estimate that was significantly lower and actually involved more prep work than in other estimates.  He was very frank and honest about what needed to be done to make the asphalt meet properly at our garage lip and at the street end, both requiring some concrete removal.  He also advised that one crack in the driveway may telegraph through over time.  They were able to get to our job within a week timeframe and luckily we had a warm October day for the work.  They did part of the prep work the afternoon before and finished about mid-day the next day.  They did a beautiful job transitioning the asphalt to the walkway to our front door and to the garage and the street entry point! They were also very careful with plantings along one side, cleaned up very well and left a caution tape over the end.  We could not be more pleased and highly recommend them to others.

The two paving items (the "patch" and the full scale resurfacing) were done promptly and exactly as agreed to. To my surprise, after spending a good half a day overall on two different occasions as well as additional materials to install a new brick bottom step off my long walkway and doing what appears to be a truly first-rate job, I was not charged for that work even though I tried to pay for it. I had four estimates for the patch and resurfacing work, and Proffit Brothers was, by far, the lowest bidder, while doing superlative work. The supervisor (actually, the son of one of the Proffit's)explained everything that needed to be done in clear terms. I was very impressed by the attention to the job and the friendly attitude of the crew.

Mr Proffit came out on schedule and gave me his recommendation and an estimate. They showed up on time to do the work. The work is good and The price was as I expected.

They were very professional from the start. The job started right on time and they were very careful to clean out and fill every crack before putting the seal-coat on. The workers were friendly and pleasant to talk with. It took several days to finish but the job was done well and at the agreed upon price.

This company was contacted very fast (same day, within the hour). The estimate was done the next day by the owner who called and explained the cost. When they arrived to do the work, they discovered that the measurements were not done correctly, but the problem was taken care of very quickly, and the work started the same day. The work was completed on time and on budget. The crew was very competent and friendly. I would hire them again.
