Great experience. I shopped around and Potomac Trust Mortgage had the most competitive rates I could find.

Overall, I got the loan for the price agreed. Had to jump through the usual hoops and a in my case it always seem like some unexpected turns.

Did not use company as it was $4,000 more in closing costs than our credit union. We had another mortgage broker look at the proposal and he could not figure out what the money was used. Went with CUMA mortgage company through our credit union instead.

I did not end up choosing this company for my mortgage (due to some reasons beyond my control), but if I have the opportunity in the future, I would definitely work with them. I called late one business day to ask about my first mortgage and before I hung up had a good idea of a rate and package that could be available. I was under pressure from my agent and the terms of the contract to act fast, and during the next 24 hours received all the responses I needed. I had several communications over email and phone, even personal contact information was exchanged. Quotes were dissected and explained in detail so I knew I was comparing apples to apples, as they say. The rate was the lowest I'd seen anywhere. The service was superb. It was a very positive experience.

Jim Evans walked me through every aspect of a post-divorce home buyout. He obtained a significantly lower mortgage rate than I would have been able to obtain on my own. Jim was patient, informative and professional during the entire process.

The company was very good at explaining the terms of the contract. They did not overwhelm you with jargon. I felt the company was honest and that they delivered on what was promised. There were no surprises. Their rates were the best I found and they were affordable.
