He did very well.  I would rate him high overall.  He did a very good job.

Peter is a high school science teacher by trade and has been doing hardwood floors on the side for more than twenty years.  He really knows his craft and does an outstanding job - he talked me out of a high gloss finish and I'm VERY glad he did - satin is much easier to live with.  Great guy - very personable, punctual and reliable - prices were reasonable and good value for the money.  I'm going to give him a shout when I'm ready to do the rest of the house - highly recommend him!

Peter did a great job. His price was a couple hundred less than the nearest competitor. He walked my wife very slowly and carefully through finish and stain choices, resulting in a floor that looked exactly as she pictured it.

We called 3 different contractors to give us quotes. The first never showed up. The second, we just didn't have a great feeling about. When we met Peter we instantly liked him and even though his price was a little higher, we decided he was the one. We asked Peter for a quote to do the living level of our house (about 400 square feet of space), and a separate quote for the stairwell. We agreed to have him sand and stain the floors and the landing, but we decided not to do the stairwell, as he explained to us how he would not be able to sand out all the dark stain on the veneer. He showed us stain samples on our flooring and we chose a cherry finish. We are absolutely in love with the color, as well as the finish. Initially we were going to apply the sealer ourselves, and we did attempt it, and made a complete mess of it. He came back and re-sanded, stained, and sealed the floors. It was an expensive lesson for us, but we are so please with the outcome and the professional quality of his work, that we didn't mind too much. He tried to tell us that it was a very difficult process, and was concerned about our doing it ourselves, but we persisted, and he allowed us to make our own mistakes! He was very good about explaining what we needed to do, what supplies we would need and was available to talk us through any problems we may run into, but we were just not skilled at the process and are so glad he was willing to come back the next weekend and re-do what we messed up. We called our mistake our contribution to stimulate the economy. Overall it was a great experience! We will call him again when we have finished renovating the upper level of our house.

It went really well. He told us he could only work on the weekends. He scheduled for one weekend and he completed it on time and on budget. He was friendly and professional.

Very good workmanship. I think his prices were right in line with everyone else's. We liked the way he thought about wood & some of his suggestions. We would use him again.

Peter is a very reliable and conscientious person, but tends to run a little late. He was helpful in helping me figure out exactly what I wanted to get done. I had originally thought I wanted to refinish the entire upstairs but changed my mind. Peter does not move furniture, so I had to move everything so that he could work. Peter did a great job on my floors and I am very satisfied with the result.

Peter returned my initial phone call promptly; came to my townhouse and gave a free estimate. He explained what was involved in sanding the floors and explained the difference between an oil based coat and water based coat. Peter was friendly, professional and a pleasure to work with and my floors look brand new.

Peter did a beautiful job. He is very knowledgeable about hardwood floor refinishing; offers good advice on how to keep the refinished floors in good condition, and completes the work on time.

Peter was very responsive, prompt, honest and did great work. We've been very happy with the job he did and with the way the finish has held up on the floor. Peter is a full-time school teacher, so he refinishes floors in his spare time. I would absolutely hire him again if we had any more floors to refinish!
