About us
We are residential architects. We design new houses, additions and renovations that are attractive, comfortable — and enviably efficient. Houses that help the planet… and save money. Energy efficiency is integral to all of our work. For example, our Passive House, now under construction in Bethesda, Maryland, cuts 90% of the heating and cooling energy of a standard home. The incrementally higher costs of green construction are more than offset by savings in monthly energy costs. Green design means comfort. We favor low-tech solutions, using off-the-shelf construction materials, additional insulation, and careful detailing. The results are extraordinarily comfortable homes. Our clients appreciate the additional benefit of energy efficient design — homes that are cozy, quiet and durable. We listen to our clients. In the end, the house is for you, not us, and we view our relationship as a partnership. There is a variety in architectural styles in our projects, reflecting differing client tastes and sites. What remains constant is attention to detail and a concern for proportion, beauty and efficiency.
