The reception and waiting room was clean and there were plenty of hand-sanitizers available. Check in was via a touchscreen and a minute later the receptionist saw us in a private room for insurance check-in. She was cheerful, sympathetic, and efficient. We stayed in the waiting room for approximately 15 minutes before a nurse showed us back.
The working area was spacious, well-lit, warm, and clean. The nurse took both our vitals quickly, handling my 4-year-old's manners easily. We were quickly brought into an examination room together. The nurse asked for our symptoms and then took swabs for strep and flu. Even though the swabs are uncomfortable, the nurse was great with my child. 10 minutes later the doctor saw us both. She was kind and concerned and listened to our description of symptoms as well as checking us over. The results came back as strep for both of us, with no flu. She provided prescriptions, which since we were okay with generic, we opted for receiving there in the clinic. We had the prescriptions in hand and were headed to checkout in another 10 minutes.
The visit couldn't have been any better. Unfortunately ...
I developed shakes and chills overnight, after 2 doses of antibiotics for the strep. By next morning, I had fever up to 103. I went back to the clinic early afternoon. This time, the clinic was busy and although I was checked in within 5 minutes, this time I waited almost an hour to be seen. They were obviously busy, though, as a steady stream of patients discharging kept up until I was seen. This time, the nurse who brought me back too my vitals as my teeth chattered and I shook. She led me by the arm to the examination room, laid me down on the examination couch, and brought a warmed blanket for me. The same doctor I saw the day before came in and evaluated my condition, reswabbed me for flu, and then suggested an X-ray. She brought me "the gown" and let me know someone would be in to get me.
The X-ray technician showed up within 2 minutes. The x-ray room was literally 10 feet away and the technician was sympathetic and efficient. After we were done, back to the examination room where the technician went out to bring me another warmed blanket. Unable to confirm things on the X-ray but wanting to get another opinion, they sent me home with an antiviral. By that evening, my cough had worsened and I was not surprised when Patient First called me in the morning, confirmed my personal information in order to preserve my medical privacy, and then informed me of what the radiologists had determined. They forwarded a new prescription to the pharmacy of my choice and I was on my way to improvement.
Patient First called me twice afterward to check on my progress and make sure that I made it to my follow-up appointment. Their professional, thorough, and excellent care is first rate. What an amazing difference good service makes when you're feeling ill. I highly recommend this clinic.
