Andrew was very punctual and  professional when estimating the cost of the project.  While his company charges a little more than average for interior painting, I was willing to hire him because I knew, from past experience, that his company's work was well above average.  We were able to agree on a slightly lower price this time in return for slightly cutting the level of the services to be rendered.  This put his cost very close to the other bids I received.  The work was done on time and better than I would have hoped.  Andrew worked well with my real estate agent and other contractors who needed to work on the house.
If you want painting done for a fairly reasonable cost with excellent quality and customer service, I suggest you contact Andrew.

They did an excellent job and fixed any areas that needed a touch-up.  I found the quality of their work to be top notch.  I have already received compliments on the work they performed.

I had the plaster walls of the the entire interior of my 1946 townhome repaired and painted.  I also had crown molding installed throughout the entire house.  Andrew Wallace is very professional and polite.  When he came to provide a quote he was perpared with a catalog of all the differnet types of crown molding I could choose from.  Because he's so familiar with houses in Old Town he was very knowledgable in what type of style "fit" my home and the neighborhood it was in.  I had questioned some of my accent colors.  When I asked for his input he was very polite but not pushy.

His price was not the lowest price, however the extra I paid was worth the service.  His service included the repair of imperfections in my plaster walls (some of which had painted wallpaper), painting all of the walls of my 952 square-foot house, and installing molding.   It took his crew four days to complete the job.  His crew was always prompt--never early or late.  I didn't have to leave a key because they arrived when I left for work and locked up when they left.  His crew also cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day.  I did have a paint stain on one of my bedroom sheets.  He was prepared to replace it but offered to get the stain out himself, which he successfully did.  Mr. Wallace also did his own final walk-throughs to make sure all touch-ups were complete.  He also made sure any issues I found were taken care of.  I actually didn't like one of the colors i had chosen and he had his guys back the next day to put up the new paint that I wanted.

I had my service performed in the dead of summer.  One important service he offers is that he will return with his crew in the winter, at no additional charge, to make sure the crown molding is still flush against the wall since wood contracts and expands when the temperature changes.

If you're looking for a quality job to be performed on your home and good customer service, I highly recommend this company.

I, for some reason, assumed that some of the repairs would involve replacement of rotten wood components with new wood.  Consequently, I was surprised when most of the repairs were done using Bondo or a like substance—particularly at a $7,000 price.  Because the work had started and because I have very limited time due to my job to monitor and manage the work that was being performed by Old Town Paint and Plaster, I decided to suck it up and not say anything.  There were a number of issues that required my asking Andrew to come back and remediate (missed spots, stuck windows due to paint).  I’m OK with that because no one is perfect, although Andrew did say when he was bidding on the work that he would get the job done right the first time.  What really frustrated me is the work done on the patio fence.  My fence gate, which I use every day to access where I park, worked perfectly prior to the repairs to the fence.  Now, the fence gate doesn’t close completely (too tight of a fit).  Andrew did come back once and made a minor adjustment.  That worked for a couple of days and then the gate fence wouldn’t close any longer because of the too-tight fit.  After contacting Andrew again, who said he would come back out, he no longer acknowledges my e-mails.  At $7,000, mostly Bondo repairs, and with a fence gate that won’t open (rendering my patio open to passers-by), I’m very disappointed with result and would not recommend Old Town Paint and Plaster.

Perfect.  Andrew came early the day after I called him and they did the work later that same day. Immaculate, high quality work in every detail.  And after they cleaned up, you wouldn't know they were there.

As perfect an experience as one could hope to have. Andrew Wallace, who owns the company, did the estimating and inspected the work every day, directing redos of small spots I would not have noticed. He was on email with me every night answering questions. His crew chief, Hugo, is a magician -- repairs are all invisible. Lines are perfect, coverage perfect. A first class performance by Andrew, Hugo and the rest of the crew. They were right on time every day and cleaned up each day so we really saw nothing of their tools, etc. laying around the house. Andrew's advice re using lighter colors to open up the rooms was right on. And they were fast. Entire job done in four days. Andrew was completely patient with various changes in plan made by me during the job and very accepting of my wanting to do some parts of the job myself, making very reasonable adjustments in the pricing. Overall, for the speed and quality of work done, a great value.

I had 5 estimates ranging from $2,000 to $20,000! Old Town Paint and Plaster's estimate was in the middle. They arrived on time for estimate, made recommendations on repair, started work within 2 days, showed up on time every day until the job was finished (which took 5 days instead of the 2 projected) and charged exactly what the estimate said. The owner took a personal interest and kept me regularly informed on the progress until it was finished. I will definitely use them again.

From start to finish, Old Town was courteous, communicative, and honest about their assessment of the problem. Though our ceiling was plaster, it was explained to us that it was plaster-board (akin to drywall sheets made of plaster). Old Town was willing to repair the plaster board but recommended that we simply use drywall. We went with that suggestion and the ceiling looks great. Workers called before they arrived, were neat and careful and obviously knew what they were doing. Once they finished repairing the ceiling, we contracted with them to paint. It took a crew of three a mere 2 1/2 hours to do the job and, again, it was excellent work. We also received a thank-you note from Old Town for choosing them. Nice touch.

He was very helpful envisioning where we might do some color contrasting. His knowledge was very good, even in terms of using dormers. He was just very good throughout the whole entire process. He had great suggestions & listened well to our ideas. We would use him again.

Andrew Wallace, the owner of the company, provided an estimate for the job in a very timely manner. He even arrived early, which made a very good first impression. The estimate arrived the same day and clearly detailed the scope of work. His crew, led by a husband-wife team, were extremely courteous and easy to work with. They took pride in their work and were very detailed-oriented, making sure the trim work was perfect and the overall job was well done. They even left the house much cleaner than before it was painted! Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of work. Although the price was higher than several other bids from other contractors, the extra cost is well worth the attention to detail, the excellent customer service, and professionalism of the crew. Throughout the job, Andrew was in constant contact with us to make sure we were satisfied and came by to check on the progress several times during the week.

Andrew Wallace, the owner, was very courteous and thorough in giving his estimate and in ensuring the service was done well and quickly. I was impressed by his knowledge, experience and professionalism. His crew did a great job and left everything very clean. The price seemed a little high, but it was lower than another estimate I received, so it may be the price you have to pay in Old Town for good work!

Old Town Paint & Plaster does exceedingly good work. The work looked perfect when they were through. Andrew Wallace, my contact there, responds to requests quickly and professionally. They were very punctual - literally ringing the doorbell exactly when they were scheduled and did the work as promised. Old Town Paint & Plaster charges considerably more than other painting services. I got another quote for the same work for $840, so I paid about $260 more for the quality they provide. Their high price is the only reason I would not give them a solid ''A'' overall grade. I would give them an ''A-'' because of it. On all the other factors, they are A+.

The work was excellent. The holes that were patched were patched flawlessly, and the paint job looked great. The painters were professional, and I believe I noticed only one minor defect in the job. The job was of A+ quality. Andrew Wallace, my contact at Old Town Paint & Plaster, was friendly and responsive. The workers were punctual and finished the job on time. Old Town Paint & Plaster is more expensive than the typical paint company (my guess is 20%-30%), but the quality is unparalleled. I would highly recommend if you have a job that is difficult or you desire perfection. I would rate a solid A overall, if the price were a little closer to the standard pricing. A- would probably be the best grade. For workmanship, A+.
