I've been going here a few years, and they are steadily declining in
patient service and care. I recently went for my pap smear and was told
by the nurse, and quot;you're so dinky, you don't even look like you weigh 100
pounds.and quot; WOW. This hurt immensely as I'm having health issues and
have lost a lot of weight. I don't care if you're talking about a
skinny person, is it STILL WRONG!!! No matter how good Dr. Santiago and
Agarwal are, I need to start looking for a new obgyn office. This
place is really getting out of hand.
First off, Dr. Bissell is a complete NIGHTMARE. This woman is so rude
and abrupt. I had an unexpected/unwanted pregnancy that I decided to
keep and every time I went to Bissell she just made me feel like crap,
saying you're going to gain so much weight, since you're petite your
belly will be really out there, alllllll this negativity. I literally
CRIED every single time I saw this woman. You may ask, well why did you
go to her? Unfortunately, she was the only one available that fit my
work schedule so I had no choice. Not to mention Bissell's vaginal
exams, I would tell her, PLEASE go in very slowly, I am recovering from
vaginismus (fear of penetration), but to no avail, she'd practically
STAB me with her fingers. She's a very socially awkward, insensitive,
obnoxious woman. Even my husband agreed that she's a weirdo. AVOID
HER!!
Everytime I went to Dr. Santiago she made me feel like a
queen. On my lack of weight gain, she told me...don't worry, you're
going to look like one of these celebrity moms. and quot; You don't look
pregnant from the back!!and quot; She REALLY REALLY made me feel good. And
instead of leaving the office in tears, I started leaving feeling
positive and happy about my pregnancy...which is what I needed!
Dr. Agarwal: she's been at the practice for about 2 years or so, she's great.
Dr. Pham is also horrible. She literally spent about 4 minutes (NOT an
exaggeration!) with me once and did the same thing as Bissell--stabbed
me with her finger even though I told her not to.
NURSES are great
FRONT DESK is a disaster. While on maternity leave, I
needed Dr. Santiago to fill out my paperwork so I could receive FMLA
pay/benefits, well after assuring me the papers would get FILLED OUT,
SIGNED, AND SENT...they did not. The woman at the front desk actually
LOST my papers!! I kept telling her, and quot;you told me in person that you'd
HAND them to Dr. S to get it done.and quot; But of course, she didn't remember
saying that and she didn't even remember ME. Mistakes happen I
understand. But she didn't even apologize, that's what p***** me off!
So here I am, in pain, sleep deprived, and I'm arguing with the gyno's
office over something they said they would get done. I had no choice
but to go to my employer's website, print out the forms again, fill out
my part, then have my mom fax it to the dr's office. THEN have my
husband PICK THEM UP from their office so they don't lose them again and
I could send them myself. If I didn't do all this, my insurance
would've temporarily been cut AND I wouldn't have received thousands of
dollars in FMLA pay.
Santiago and Agarwal are good doctors but not nearly good enough to save this practice. What a shame.

I initially visited OB-GYN back in 2010 with Dr. Pham. She was very nice and gave me an excellent exam. Afterwards i was also treated by Dr. Bissell who was very communicative with all my questions and concerns. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Besides the yealy PAP tests, they take your blood pressure. The staff will call you with your exam results. Since I don't have any major issues, I will continue visiting their office. All four doctors are very qualified and I feel comfortable visiting any one of them. Its a very comfortable environment and the office is accessible via major routes.

I switched to this practice and the care of Drs Pham and Santiago about 3 months into my pregnancy. The transfer was very efficient, they contacted my previous provider for records, made sure they had all the right information and referred me to other specialists as required when they identified the pregnancy as high risk. The doctors and nursing staff also took special care to check up on me throughout my husband's deployment, to include him in decisions and discussed options for the delivery to make sure they knew how to get in touch with him in case of an emergency as well as to try and get him home for the birth. He made it home in time for the due date and Dr Santiago noticed early labor during our check-up visit that day. She suggested inducing labor to make sure my husband could attend the birth. Our son was born the next morning and we were released the next day. My husband was able to spend a few days with me and our newborn son before having to head back to Afghanistan.
Overall I felt very well taken care of and would recommend them!

Dr. Santiago is the most favorable one of the bunch. Like most other practices, they barely spent 5 minutes with me and I always felt like they were rushing out the door.
Dr. Pham has horrible bedside manner. They were not crazy about me bringing in a birth plan. When I went into labor, Dr. Santiago was very straightforward and kind of harsh about the position of my baby.
Dr. Pham delivered my son and never uttered the world and quot;congratulationsand quot;. She was rude to my husband and the amazing nurses who were helping her. I would never subject myself to that experience again. My husband still remembers how she put a damper on one of the most beautiful moments in our lives. I will not be going back and will not recommend the practice to anyone.

She was honest and helpful, but it was a little bit impersonal. We got what we needed.

Dr. Santiago is wonderful. She was recommended to me by another doctor, when my older OB-GYN retired and I found myself in need of an OB for the first time. She has a wonderful bedside manner and is truly caring. The first time I saw her, I was having difficulties in my pregnancy and it looked like there would be no possible outcome. She very gently prepared me for what I may see when I went for an ultrasound and assured me that whatever happened, it was not my fault. Happily, baby has stuck in there and she was very happy for me and has been a wonderful OB throughout the pregnancy. All of the nurses I met have been incredibly nice as well. There are only two things I don't love about the practice -- the first is that you can get any of the four women doctors when you actually go into delivery, so I may not in the end have Dr. Santiago. (But I think this is pretty standard practice around the area for OB practices.) The second is that the front office staff isn't as great as everyone else and the wait times can be long, particularly for a pregnant woman. (But again, this happens at lots of doctors offices, so not particularly an unusual occurrence.) I love Dr. Santiago enough to put up with the front office folks, and her appointments run much closer to on time than some of the other doctors in the practice. Because you can end up with any of the four women on the day of delivery, they ask you to alternate through the others at least once during the 9 months so you can meet them all. Then once you've done that, you can pick whoever you want for your appointments. One other good thing is, because you can see any of the four doctors anytime you need to go, it's super easy to get an appointment on whatever day and time you need - one or another will have an opening. Oh - and Dr. Santiago is great for GYN stuff as well. She gave me the most comfortable pap smear I've had in my LIFE - I barely felt it, and that was not typically my experience at all!

I have been a patient of Dr. Tacktill for 20 years, and have been happy with him. He is very busy (one of several in his practice--OB-GYN Assoc. of NorthernVA)-- but he always has time to talk and, as I get older, to go over health issues, not just his speciality. Nurses are very nice.

Dr. Santiago took the time to genuinely listen to and address all my problems and concerns during my pregnancy. She went to great lengths to coordinate care with a pulmonary doctor during my hospitalization for preeclampsia prior to the birth of my daughter. She is an excellent physician and has a great bedside manner.

She is very professional. She was able to fit me in where others had a six month waiting period. I had a question about a prescription and she got back to me right away.
