We have done multiple major remodelings on several properties in many states. In our opinion, Oakwood is by far the worst experience ever had. We mistook Rob Holubar?s laid-back style with amenability; it turned out for us, that it's really a reflection of his lack of oversight and attention. He estimated in writing 2-3 weeks for a SMALL bathroom remodel and it took almost 8 weeks. Days on end where no one did a thing and Rob always had excuses. His scheduling is abominable. Workmanship was spotty all the way around in part due to Rob?s lack of oversight. The worst was the plumber he uses. Although licensed, the plumber did such a bad job that we contacted the Virginia Plumbers Association and the representative there suggested we sue! We also learned the plumber had previously been sanctioned by the State for getting a permit for another unlicensed plumber. Why would anyone want to have someone like this as a sub-contractor, escapes imagination. When pointing out problems, Rob got defensive and deflected responsibility ? to include blaming ME! On one of the last days, a huge error in plumbing was discovered (due to lack of any oversight and attention) and Rob even admitted he ?didn?t catch it.? But then when asked how he was going to fix it, there was no professional integrity shown. What he did was try and wrestle another big chunk of money out of us to correct his plumber?s fundamental mistake. He missed his contract completion date by almost six weeks and we never got so much as an apology out of him. It was a huge inconvenience for our family not having our bathroom for almost 8 weeks. I believe he misrepresented in his estimate too. Stated in written estimate he?d replace the copper pipes and even examined main plumbing line downstairs and walked us through where in the wall they would have to cut through to bring pipes up to bathroom. Later he tells us it will be $500 MORE because he said the estimate was ?only for copper piping in the ACTUAL BATHROOM itself? not down to the main connection. This is how he squeezed more money out of us ? in the middle of it all when we are stuck and captive. The only bright spot was the tile guy he used; he did a good job and I heard him call Rob up and tell him he had better keep a closer eye on his guys because they were screwing things up. I could go on and on with examples from this two-month nightmare and have kept records to prove it. Rob really didn?t care about the quality of the job nor our satisfaction. We also thought he would be trustworthy because he is a veteran; so much for integrity and responsibility. I would never recommend Oakwood Construction or Rob Holubar. We spent a lot of money on a bathroom we are very unhappy with, and will still have to invest more to fix mistakes they made and wouldn't fix.

Excellent craftsmen and carpenters. Overcame several unexpected problems. Overall, very satisfied and will plan to use them again.

Oakwood Construction replaced our roof earlier, and is currently replacing the siding on our house. Everything is going well.Ron Holubar is very easy to work with and very responsive to our needs and concerns. His crews consist of very hard-working individuals who do quality work. We plan to use Oakwood Construction for our future remodeling/construction projects.

Excellent quality and value. We've done two major jobs with Oakwood -- both went 3 for 3 in terms of "better, faster, cheaper"

They were timely. They came in on budget. They were very honest. They were very good at listening to us, as we changed our mind on quite a few things.
