This was a bad situation to begin with. The morning of settlement for our new house we had a walk-through and noticed the hardwood floors were buckling in the kitchen near our refrigerator. Our agent called the listing agent and she said she would handle it. The listing agent contacted Nacho Flooring Service to come out and provide a quote prior to settlement on the afternoon of July 31st. We settled on the house that afternoon thinking that the floors would be fixed within a week.
The listing agent gave Nacho Flooring Service a key to our house, which at the time, we were fine with since we hadn't moved anything in. In the beginning of August, Nacho Flooring Service came out to the house to check the moisture levels in the floor and said it was still too damp and they would be back later in the week to check it again. They ended up showing up again to check the moisture levels, and again, the floor was too damp. My fiancé asked if they would dry faster if they removed the linoleum that was underneath the hardwood floors that were already ripped up. Nacho Flooring Service agreed that removing the linoleum would indeed speed up the drying process (I don't know why they didn't suggest this to begin with).
After not hearing from the company for over a week, we were told that they would be showing up at our house on the evening of Wednesday, August 21st. Wednesday night came and went without word from Nacho Flooring Service. We contacted the company on Thursday evening to find out what happened and to schedule a time for them to come out and finish the floors. They mentioned that they were in our house (without our knowledge) earlier that day and the moisture levels were getting better and that they would come back out to finish the job between 9 AM and 10 AM on Saturday, August 24th. On that Saturday, no one from Nacho Flooring Service showed up. We left multiple voicemails throughout the day on Saturday, but have yet to hear back. The listing agent also called them multiple times on Saturday and Sunday and did not hear back from them. Thankfully, the listing agent is contacting another company to finish the job. We had to change the locks to our house since Nacho Flooring Service never returned our keys.
This is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. Even if they are the cheapest and seem good in the beginning, I would highly recommend not using them. If we had a say in the process, after looking at their reviews on Angie's List, we would have never used them in the first place.
