On Friday morning, 8/21/15 when I went in to my kitchen to fix my morning cup of Earl Grey tea, and with no shoes on. I stepped in to a large puddle of water in front of my kitchen sink. When I opened the cabinet door under the sink, there was a lot of water there. My pots and pans were sitting in the water. I had just a few days earlier, placed new contact paper on the shelf.
I had to go to work, so I turned off the water from underneath the sink. I used my Angie's List membership to search for a contractor. I needed one that was available on Saturday. Surprisingly there were quite a few that had Saturday hours, and even Sunday hours. I sent a message to MV Contractors on Angie's List website. I called the contractor after a short while, just in case they hadn't had a chance to check for their messages. He was in a meeting with a customer and indicated that he would call me right back. He did and I told him what was wrong. He asked me to send him some photos of my faucet so I did. I also sent him a photo of the coils underneath the sink. That's when I saw water seeping out of a hole in one of the coils. After he reviewed the photos, he quoted me a price of $375 and I agreed to it. Saturday work costs a little more, but I was willing to pay it. He sent me a text and an email with the price and what he would be providing, to get my agreement in writing.  He had his guys go to the hardware store and purchase a faucet for me. It wasn't the same one but it was a top brand, it was by Moen. It was very nice, it came with a sprayer. The two guys that did the work, were very professional, courteous and efficient. They did an excellent job.  I would definitely hire MV Contractors again.
I had a few other plumbing issues that I wanted them to provide me with a repair quote- a tub faucet that drips (won't shut off).  I live in a high-rise condo building that's very old and they would have to fix it by opening the wall panel that's in my walk-in closet and make the repair. They will give me a quote later on for that repair. I have frequently had problems with both of my toilets flushing properly for the last five years so they will be providing me with a quote to replace both toilets. They told me to go to Home depot and Lowes and look at some and write down the model number and price and let them know. And I will.
