Barry was great! I called to request a quote and he came the next day. He took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and then he described exactly how Mill-to-You builds their fences. It was the most thorough estimate I had ever gotten from all of the quotes I requested. Most just came out and took rough measurement, then scribbled an estimate on a paper and that was it. Barry took precise measurements, then emailed a detailed quote that again described the installation process and materials, down to the types of nails they use. Once I selected Mill-to-You, Barry put me in contact with his permit guy and and within a couple of days I had a permit emailed to me. Barry's team cleared away some bamboo on part of my lot, and had the entire fence up in about a day and a half. The finished product is beautiful and I've gotten lots of compliments from my neighbors. I'm extremely satisfied and plan to hire Mill-to-You for some follow on work. Highly recommended!

Working with Barry was an absolute nightmare. It started off fine, but by the end of the experience, we realized how careless and disrespectful he is. We hired him to build a new fence in our backyard. He was significantly more expensive than some of the other quotes we received, but he seemed knowledgeable and reassured us that his work was top notch. We specifically requested two gates (front and back) with locks. He agreed and charged us extra. When the work was done, the gates simply didn't work. The internal pieces in the lock mechanism weren't aligned, so the gates wouldn't close or lock. We could manually move the gate into a "closed" position, but a light breeze would swing the door back open. The whole reason for building the fence was to keep our dog from escaping the backyard. Without a gate that actually closed, it was useless. I then spent 10 weeks calling Barry again and again and again, asking him to come out and fix it. "Okay, I'll be there Monday," he' say. By Friday, there would be no sign of him. I can't tell you how many times he no-showed. Eventually, he came out on two different occasions, fiddled with the locks, and told me they were fixed. When I later checked, the gates still didn't close or lock. My biggest mistake was paying him before fully inspecting every inch of the fence. It only took him a day to cash our check, but after 10 weeks of begging him to come out and finish the job, we gave up. Bottom line: he acted like a total *******. We now need to pay someone else to finish his overpriced work.

"We did everything I promised and more, some people can't be pleased, she failed to note the number of changes that they wanted after things were completed. I've been back three times to try and meet there needs. Barry"

Outstanding service. The guy was really trustworthy. Down to earth. He's not gonna rip you off. And they give a great product and worksmanship for a fair price.

Estimator arrived on schedule, and later inspected completed work. Crew also arrived on schedule, and continued until job was complete. Overall cost was less then other fence builders considered.

The work was done and at a reasonable price. But the workers left barbed wire and metal posts lying in the tall grass. Six months later, I noted the cap (newel?) of a fence post had come off and was lying on the ground, leaving a hollow post for who knows what to crawl or rain into. I called the owner three times over the next year and he promised he would be in my area soon to repair it. He never called or showed up.

We have given Barry and his staff at Mill-To-You enough time to rectify the issues that emerged after their installation of our fence in October 2016. They have not done so after promising that they would on multiple occasions via text, phone, and in-person; therefore, we are posting our concerns online. We feel that Mill-To-You should only be considered as a last resort--and even then, one should be careful. Thus far our experience has convinced three of our neighbors to go with other companies. Mill-To-You built our fence in October 2016 and we paid nearly $4800 which from other quotes we got was around the average price for the job. After completion we noted to Barry that the front and back gates were built very poorly. The front gate was, and still is, wobbly and not supported. The back gate doesn't align properly, creating problems when we try to close it. When we told them about the problems, they promised to come out and fix the issues. After many phone calls they came out twice. Each time they came unannounced instead of scheduling a date as we had asked. The problems were never resolved as the issue returned within days each time. Unfortunately, the last time they came out they said they were missing a part to actually complete the work and left, never to be seen again after repeated phone calls. The gate issues persist. During installation, there were other issues as well. For example, we had chosen a photo from the Mill-To-You website of what we wanted the fence to look like; Barry's crew added aesthetic features that were not part of the design we provided. In retrospect we wish we would have pushed for a signed contract. At the time Barry seemed honest enough and we moved forward on a handshake. We would be willing adjust this negative review if Barry and his crew would come out and finally fix the problems - a courtesy phone call before their arrival to agree on the best time to come would be appreciated as well.

Fantastic experience. Barry is very easy to work with and helps with decision making in an economically favorable way. The work crew was on time, efficient and did high quality work, plus everything was neat and tidy when they left.

I called Barry on Jul 3rd to get an estimate. This would be my third estimate. He showed up a few hours later, provided a competitive price and I had a fence by noon the next day, Jul 4th. He also fixed my gate handle and alignment.

Very well. No subcontracting, all work inspected by Mr Potter personally. No payment until the work is done to your satisfaction.

Mill to You Fences provided understandable and good suggestions for replacing old chain link fence with a cedar fence. The new fence is high quality, makes a huge difference in the appearance of the house and back yard. Staff were professional and prompt. We are very happy with the new fence!

Mill-to-you'd workmanship and quality are top notch. It's a small company so it took some persistence to get them to handle my project, but once we got them we couldn't be more pleased with the result. We went from no fence to the nicest fence in the neighborhood.

We had a great time designing our gates with Barry - he was knowledgable and listened to what we wanted. The end results are beautiful and absolutely what we envisioned. We are very impressed with the quality and workmanship of the gates. My only quibble was that communication with Barry was sometimes a bit slow.

Work was done on time at a fair price but crew left dangerous materials, including barbed wire, in tall grass not visible to owner for several days after.
Response from MILL TO YOU FENCES INC
"I remember this project, which was not an easy install, due in part to the overgrown conditions we were working with, which may account for a stray piece of barbed wire being left behind from the old take down. My apologies. Barry"

Wonderfully. Barry is very knowledgeable, easy to work with, and ha a great crew and hands on management of the entire process. We had them come back months later to add a new gate and they rechecked all their previous work, adjusted all the other gates and made some minor upgrades we wanted. A pleasure to do business with from start to finish.

Barry was very responsive and came out I believe the day after calling to provide an estimate. I could tell he was very experienced and knowledgeable about fences and after walking our 1/2 acre yard was able to give me a quote quickly. He was not the first company I contacted- 1 other on Angie's list gave me a minimum amount over the phone (I believe over $1000) and wouldn't even come over. Another company broke down a long list of items such as supplies, labor, hauling, even nails-- that estimate took over a week and was priced higher by someone who did not seem to have the experience regarding how to make the experience easy and efficient for the customer. The service was performed soon after Barry provided the estimate--they had to move several pickets around so the new ones wouldn't stand out too much and then replaced several broken or loose pickets and posts and also the perimeter of the fence is all level now and looks great. I will definitely call on Barry in the future.

We had a great experience.   Beautiful fence, extremely well constructed and finished in one day!  We followed his recommendation to install cedar fence over pressure treated because the expense was negligible.   Many in the neighborhood are asking for his contact information because they like how it looks - including the contractor for our back porch!

He did a good job and it was Mill To You Fences. The guy was good, it was a fair price and did a nice job. I spoke with the guy who owns the place. He is the one who gave me the quote. I called him up and he answered the phone directly. He gave me a quote over the phone without actually seeing the fence but he gave an average price I guess, we can do that for about 900 dollars or 950. He originally quoted fine but when he took a look at it he said he'd rather do it here and he kept it at the same price. He sent 2 guys out and they built the fence and cleaned up the whole thing. When he came the next day, he inspected their work and then asked me if I was satisfied and only at that point he accepted the payment. He didn't demand a payment or deposit upfront. That was an okay price, that was a fair price. The quality was good, it was very good. I was very pleased. I actually called him about a month ago to say that there was an issue at one place and I couldn't get the gate to open. He came out and took care of it. They were on time. I definitely will use them again in the future.

Barry Potter is the owner of Mill to You Fences and was referred by Angie's List a few years ago for the upkeep of my fence. He is very professional and has returned for other projects since your first referral. I am very much pleased with his work and manner.
Response from MILL TO YOU FENCES INC
"This comes a surprise, as I was there before and after the work, which was more then estimated at the same cost as offered. The work was flawless and more then what was offered, in both material and labor at the agreed upon cost. {Member name removed} offered no complaints at the time I personally stopped to review the work only parse. Since she never called or emailed anything I'm at a bit of a loss to explain her discontent. Barry Potter"

Mill To You created the custom boards to match our existing fence so we could complete our repainting project in time. It's such a relief to know that there's a company that can do custom work so we didn't have to resort to having boards of differing sizes or style in our fence as the bulk of the fence was in good shape. They saved the day. Barry was very very responsive on the phone. We will definitely consider them once it's time to replace the fence that we just had repaired and painted.

Great interaction throughout. Very friendly and when we scheduled the service, the team arrived promptly and worked quickly and professionally and in no time, it was done. It is very solid, matches the existing fence perfectly. We did find a nail on our patio the next day, but otherwise the cleanup was good.
