Was it the worst experience...? Was it the best experience...? Neither. Yes, I have hot water. Yes, the piping looks great for the tankless hot water. But, they had to come back a 2nd time to fill in the hole. See pictures. Yes, I was taken advantage of. I paid way too much. The final bill matched the estimate but in retrospect it was too much. Customer service simply stopped once I started challenging the work that was done. I have a large pipe sticking out of my condo that is unsightly. After I asked to have it corrected I was ignored. I would not recommend this company.

This is the most unprofessional and incompetent HVAC company i have ever dealt with. They came in to fix our HVAC system. the tech told us we need to replace the capacitor, after replacement it still didnt fix the issue. I was quoted another $1800 for the motor after an initial $375 charge. Luckily, we got a second company involved who diagnosed a clogged drain which was the issue. I paid $250 and got it fixed. We are still in dispute with this unprofessional company to refund our money back but they are full of excuses. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. GET SOMEONE ELSE

Michael & Sons is highly rated for HVAC work, but beware of their other services. We had them come out on May 16th to fix a toilet issue caused by our toddler. Although the technician, Drew, managed to dislodge the item and reinstall the toilet, it was missing nuts and wobbled. After being asked to fix it twice, the issue seemed resolved—until August when we discovered a moldy, damaged ceiling due to a slow leak from the toilet. We called Michael & Sons to cover the repair costs, but they wanted to verify damage and sent a manager out. During the visit he informed us that the company refused, stating that since we didn’t immediately contact them for remediation, they wouldn’t cover the damage. It seems they expect us to know they also handle remediation and to have used their services for that too.

Beware!!!!! I purchased a heat pump from Michael and Sons and it has been nothing but trouble. It has broken down every 6 months like clockwork. Recently it failed again requiring a new compressor. Since it’s still under warranty Michael and Sons had to once again come out and make the fix. Long story short, I’ve been waiting over a six weeks without A/C for a part they allegedly ordered. When I call them they’re unresponsive, I’ve asked for supervisors/managers they’re never available and will call me back but never do. When I filed a complaint with the better business bureau that’s when I realized I’d probably never get them to honor their warranty. There were tons of complaints about them. Tons! When I reached out to 7 On Your Side they told me they don’t take complaints about Michael and Sons anymore because they’ve received too many and the company never responds to their requests on behalf of customers to resolve issues. This company has the appearance of professionalism and integrity but under the surface they’re nothing more than liars and cheats. Since then I’ve heard from dozens of people who’ve all had negative experiences with Michael and Sons who swear never to use their services. If I only knew before I purchased a new heat pump from them I would have stayed away. Far far away! Looks like the only option is taking them to court to force them to honor their own warrant on a heat pump I purchased from them. Thats just crazy when you think about it but here I am in that very situation. Well, you’ve now been warned. Be careful out there.

Beware of the horrible way their technicians are capable of treating the customers...learn from my story, because what started as an unsatisfactory interaction ended with a scary experience for me as a woman/ customer. On November 28th, I made a warranty appointment for a garbage disposal that was installed a few months prior and stopped working. I was charged $233.86 to push the reset button and pull out a flower stem from my drain (the technician with initials C.N. was in my home from 9:24am – 9:36am). The technician said he was going to charge me because this fell under the jam category and not under the warranty. When I stated that I was going to write a review to warn other customers about my experience, the technician got extremely angry and started yelling at me in my own home to the point that I was scared of this guy. I called the company to report such unprofessional and disturbing treatment of their customers. His manager (with initials M.M.) called me back and he seemed more concerned about the money than the scary behavior of his employee. He promised to return 50% of the fee I was charge and it has been now almost four weeks and there is still no return to be seen.

first, pls look at reviews on other sites like yelp. --- Our kitchen sink had a slow drain likely from buildup * on 3/6 The technician was polite, prompt and proceeded to snake the drain to the tune of $432. Which is very expensive for sure but we needed it fixed and appeared to be so * on 4/3, same thing. slow drain. This time i got "bio-clean' powder to use for a couple of weeks. the powder was $69. questionable results * on 5/1, guess what? same thing. This time the tech snaked again for maybe an hour and did active testing on the flow. Apparently fixed for $289 with discount --- so, its 3 visits in so many months to the tune of 432+69+289 = $790 thats 800 for helping clear a drain what went wrong? it wasn't done through the first couple of times. was the tech polite and professional? yes was it expensive? anyone would think so would use them again? nope ---- Update, the response back from the company: "We cannot be held responsible for the condition or deterioration of the internals of your drain due to the fact that we cannot see inside your drain. We are happy to set you up with the camera inspection to find out exactly what's going on with the interior of your pipe." basically, wanting to charge for additional services and electing to ignore the sloppy and incomplete workmanship done. stay away

You cannot find a more unresponsive, uncaring, and unprofessional HVAC repair service: Michael and Son has failed me for the last time: they showed up without the part that I told them was crucial, and without a clue as to how to get into the building, which I told them of multiple times. And don't believe the ratings on this site. Following another bad review, the company loads phony 5-star reviews, many of them one sentence. Find another provider and save yourself HOURS of grief.

We moved into a new house and have been having an issue with our Carrier mini split heating units. Michael & Sons is listed on the Carrier website as an authorized service provider. The technician arrived outside of the 2-hour time window when I was in the middle of important work meetings. In addition, the technician informed me they don't service my units, even though I had identified the mini splits when setting up the appointment.

Save yourself the dishonesty and save your money and hire a company that will be truthful to you. This company charged me $18,450 because they thought the insurance company would have covered the cost of my work but I had to absorb all of this cost. When it came time for them provide me the itemized receipt/invoice to provide to the insurance company so they know what work they did, to no avail. I’m still chasing them for it. Just save your heart. See the attachment below for more information. If there was an option for zero (0) this is what they’d be getting. I regret dialing this company’s number ever!

Not good at all technician came out and went over what he needed to to the job gave me a price for $1,400 left, I called back to have them go ahead and do the work. They never called back I had to call more than once(after waiting a week with no water) finally got to the manager she scheduled my appointment that took another 3 days for them to come out.. so when the technician arrived this morning he informed us that his boss said he is not to do the job for the price he gave us, he said his boss wanted him to dig our yard take the whole pipe out and replace that way and then want us to pay them $4,000 for the repair now all while informed each person I talked to I have 5 kids in my home with no water to wash dishes, clothes etc. And on top of that they wanted be to pay $895 for one part of the pipe and $515 for the other piece (I have invoice for proof) so I addressed this situation and once again no call back to help. So this tells me all they wanted was to get as much money as they could from me.. I will NOT recommend this company to anyone I was very disappointed and upset by the lack of concern to help me and my family in a time of need.

The initial installation was done professionally. Unfortunately after three months the system failed. From Friday to Tuesday I was without hot water and heat and the temperature in my house went down to the 40s. It took five visits to fix the issue. The manufacturer advised that the solution called for disabling something in the system to keep that part from failing. I am worried that the system is not safe. I will be contacting the DC Consumer and Regulatory Affairs as I have no faith in the quality of this system. This company installed a furnace and hot water heater system in November. Three months later I discovered water leaking from the system; there was water all over the floor. A tech came out on a Wednesday but was unable to make the repair. The tech shut off the valve and had me turn off the system. He returned the next day and stopped the leak. Due to warmer than normal temps I didn’t realize the heat was not working and by Saturday morning the temperature in my house was in the 40s. A tech came out for the third time on Saturday but wasn’t able to fix it. I would have to wait until Monday. The tech returned for the forth time, was here for about an hour. I found out later a part needed to be ordered but would not be available until Tuesday. The tech made a repair and said he disabled a part, per the manufacturer, so the system wouldn’t fail again. I don’t have any confidence that this system is safe or fixed so it won’t break down again. I began calling customer service on Saturday when it was clear that the system couldn’t be fixed. I asked for a replacement of my system. Unfortunately the people who could help were not available on the weekend. I waited until 8 on Monday and still had not received a called. At this point I was quite angry. I finally received a call back and I vehemently expressed that I wanted a replacement system. I was told it didn’t work that way and he wasn’t in the mood to be yelled at and hung up.

Michael and Son's water mitigation team came out the same day, and had dehumidifiers and air movers placed by the following afternoon. Oscar was supervising the team, and he was great in not only explaining what he was doing and why, but walking me through the insurance process as well. As far as the end results are concerned, there is a hole in our ceiling and about a third of the bathroom tile has been pulled up, as well as one level of flooring that was beneath it. We're currently waiting on a restoration team to come out and repair things, but this won't be through Michael and Son. (It was my understanding that they didn't do the kind of work we needed done.)

My sister fired them for incompetence. They never accomplished work I paid for with my credit card. I put in a stop order with my bank. Then they reimbursed her and she reimbursed me. Then my bank responded, that the charge would go through. **** would freeze over before I'd recommend this company to anyone. My sister is now using my plumber and we're both happy this experience is behind us.

It went great and did the job less than an hour. They had a high quality plumbing supply ride on the truck.
