Several years ago we were dealing with multiple roof leaks, due to poorly designed connecting roofs and a poor choice of the roofing material initially used. Master Roofing evaluated the structures and came up with a good solution to our water problems. They were easy to work with, the new roof was installed as specified, on time, and with good job site clean-up - no complaints. We no longer have to worry about roof leaks whenever there is a storm. In addition, due to the recent wind storm, we had minor roof damage from a falling tree. Master Roofing came right out, evaluated, and repaired the damage.

We obtained three bids to have our 28 y/o roof and gutters replaced. Master Roofing was in the middle for the roof replacement and the lowest for the gutters. They were timely in providing pricing info and material options. After signing the contract they came the next week to replace the roof. The job was completed in two days. In the process one of their large trucks backed onto our yard damaging our lawn sprinkler system. I was not home for most of the time the work was being done but did come home for lunch one day to check on progress. While I was there, one of their trucks arrived to deliver plywood and proceeded to back on to my yard rather than unload from the drive or street. When I went out to talk with the driver he said, "I didn't think anyone was home." I'm guessing he wouldn't have driven on my yard if he knew I was there! Either way, I was left with a rut in my yard. Additionally one of their trucks leaked fluid on the drive leaving several stains. I can't imagine they weren't aware that their vehicle leaked and am disappointed they didn't take steps to either place something under the truck or clean the stains. Master Roofing did repair the sprinkler system but did nothing about the ruts in my yard or the fluid stains in the drive. As far as I can tell, the roof and gutter installation seem to be fine; unfortunately, thecare and attention to the overall job site was lacking.

The previous owner of the own hired Master Roofing to replace the entire roof in fall of 2004.  Warranty is 10 yrs.  My home inspector found that the shingles have only 3 nails.  The proper installation for racking method is 4 nails.  The roof is less than 10 yrs old & is already leaking bad in multiple places.  The valleys were not shingled properly & prom to leaks, no kick out flashing so caused staining & moisture damaging of the siding, gap between gutters & fascia, multiple improper flashing that have cause leaks when it rains (evidence of old leak in the attic)....  all contributed to the shorten life of the roof that should have lasted at least 25 yrs.
There's a receipt left from the previous owner for the roof job so the seller called them back because it's still under warranty.  Someone came out & insist there are 4 nails on every shingle.  I had 2 roofers over to look at the roof, in addition to my home inspector, & all said it was done wrong & cutting corners by having "3 nailers".  These type of mistakes is not one you can correct easily.  All roofers said going back to put in the missing nail is labor intensive & makes no sense to spend thousands of $$ for that.  With so many things wrong the only viable option is to replace the entire roof again.
With so many things wrong with this roof job, this company either doesn't know how to properly do the job or purposely cut corners to cheat customers.
Even after getting caught this company still denies the facts.

To Provider's Response:

There's serious problem if this roofer believes they installed the roof properly.  I replaced the entire roof.  Not only the shingles were improperly installed, the plywood & construction of the sheathing were wrong.  My new roofer informed me they are supposed to cut the plywood along the ridge line for ventilation.  They didn't, only cutting at some area & the width was insufficient.  The result was plywood got too hot, dried up, cracked, rotten & had to be replaced too.

Water stains clearly showed in the attic.  I witnessed leaks as well.  It's disingenuous for this provider to say "no evidence of a leak".   There were several leaks.

I'm attaching pictures.
Response from MASTER ROOFING & SIDING INC
"We installed the roof for the previous owner. We were never notified by the previous owner or current owner of any roof leaks or any shingles blowing off. The only call we received was when the house was listed for sale and the home inspector seemed to think there was evidence of a leak. We inspected the roof at the request of the new owner and found the shingles to be installed properly."

They are called "master roofers" for a reason.  These guys know what they are doing.   They took a couple days to complete the job, including all of the carpenter work, and rotted board replacement, but it looks great, very professionally done.   Six months later, we have no leakage or any other issues.  I anticipate this roof will last for a long time.  The only minor complaint is they contract with a third party for gutter guards.  The gutters were done a couple weeks after the roof (wish we knew this in advance).   Roof is excellent.  Gutter guards are okay.  They were a little on the high side for cost, but layered the shingles close, didn't cut any corners, and were well worth the extra bit of money for solid work product.

They were on time and professional, and they have quality products.  I do not have a roof problem since they did my roof.  If I have a need to do any roof repair, I would absolutely use them again.

First class all round service and work.  Timely response to our request to assess what we needed accomplished, and in providing a very fairly priced estimate.  The work was done quickly and professionally and the installation team went above and beyond in waiting for the power company to arrive (late) to turn off the power to the house so Master Roofing could work around the service connection to the house.

Our new home had an old roof that we planned on replacing soon.  The big storm in June left us with limbs through the roof and damaged gutters so we decided to replace everything.  I got a referral for Master from a coworker.  Mark Davenport responded quickly, coming out the next day to measure and I received the estimate in the mail a few days later.  I got three other estimates and Master was significantly less expensive than the others.  We picked out architectural shingles with a lifetime guarantee.  They came out about a week later to replace the roof.  It took them 2 days to remove the old roof, replace damaged plywood, and put on new shingles.  They came out about a week later to replace rotted trim around 3 windows and came about 10 days later to install new gutters.  They kept in contact during the process, showed up on time, cleaned up well, and did a quality job.  It went very smoothly from start to finish and was really happy with the professional service.

After contacting the company, Mark Davenport stopped by to examine the house, take measurements and discuss the project.  After discussing material costs with his brother, he mailed me  a written contract to review within a week.  I returned the signed contract authoring a $2,200.00 deposit charged to my credit card.   After a few weeks had passed to allow  the work materials to arrive, I was contacted to select a day for work to begin .  On the selected day, the office called to tell me the workmen were on their way and would arrive in 30 minutes. They arrived around 8:30 am with their work supervisor, Mark's brother.  I walked around the house again with the workmen pointing out the new areas to be covered and the old ones needing replacement trim.  I was told the work would take several days to complete.
The workers were very skillful and organized their working areas on our driveway to cut, measure and install the trim .  The work went very well.  The upper areas of the second floor were completed quickly.  When they reached the ground level areas, they needed guidance about working around some recessed lights installed  into an overhang reaching around the side and back of the house. I realized that I would have to rethink my original ideas and ended up leaving that area alone so I could replace the original recessed lights and repaint the overhang ceiling rather than cover it up.  As a result, the company reduced my bill by $860.00.  Also, I pointed out some dented gutter downspouts that I needed replaced and much to my joy they said they could replace them easily.  For that job, they added $50.00 to my bill.  The workers worked very diligently to complete the work as promised.  They cleaned up carefully to remove any debris and trimmings.  After a week or so, I received a bill for the balance which I again charged to my credit card.  I am very pleased with the quality of the work, the responsiveness and professionalism of all the people who work at Master Roofing and Siding.

They showed up when they said they would and did all the work in one day. They protected the front of the house where the old shingles were thrown off. I was not home but my neighbor said they were very careful not to damage anything and cleaned as they worked. At the end of the day they walked the entire yard looking for nails and debrie. Two screens had minor damage from shingles coming off house. They came back and replaced the screens.
I am very happy with the quality amd professionalism. While i wont have to have new shingles again, i will definately comsider them first in the future for window replacement work or any siding repair should i need it.
