The experience was all positive. They were very responsive, gracious, and made an effort to clean up after themselves. They did the work while we were away, and  we were very thrilled overall with the work. They were excellent. They were negotiable about the payment of the work. The work took slightly longer than they had anticipated.

It was great. I emailed Taft and told him the problem. Someone was at the house the next day and was able to stop the leaking in one visit. Thankfully there was no other damage that needed to be repaired.

My husband and I have used Manton, LLC for various home projects. We own an older 1947 home. From a project to break-down an existing wall to rebuild a new arch way, and to give more flow to the main floor; installing a new entry door; to repairing roof damages from Hurricane Sandy in October 2012, amongst other projects. And there will be more, I’m sure!

The biggest project thus far on our home has been breaking down an existing wall to give way to more flow to the main floor. As mentioned, our home was built in 1947, which back then they didn’t use lead-free paint. We were expecting our first child, so searching for a contractor who was lead certified was a pre-requisite in the hiring process. Not only did we find Taft (the owner/project manager) to be lead certified, he walked us through the lead precaution process, listened to our ideas and proposed ideas to think about, and was honest with his feedback - he was great to work with! He made the project/process run so smooth, his crew left the premises in clean condition after the project ended, while following lead-safe work practices. We loved the result of our project!

When Sandy started to hit us in Virginia, we were unfortunate to have a leak come into our kitchen floor. We gave Taft a call to see if there was anything he could do at the time. He and his crew came out, and actually went onto our roof during Sandy to assess where the water was coming down into our kitchen. This helped Taft and his crew pinpoint the source, and we were able to successfully resolve the roof issue after the storm passed. Now if that’s not dedication to customer service, I don’t know what is! We’ll definitely be hiring Manton again, and again!

I find the owner/project manager (Taft) to be professional, honest (rarity to find), great at what he does, reasonably priced, and will be upfront with ideas/feedback. He and his company are fantastic to work with!

Taft's group is very responsive and punctual - decent price as well. They have helped me out many times in a jam and greatly appreciate their quick action! Even the little work is not above them.

Taft and his team were excellent! This was by no means fun or fancy work and they did so with ease and did not complain. The day those guys cleaned out the crawl space, well, frankly, I felt sorry for them. It is a small space and it was disgusting. They worked very well, were thorough, they fixed all of our structural issues and the owner/PM, Taft was on top of everything his crew did. I would highly recommend these guys for a thorough and complete renovation project with little hassle.
We had the crawlspace in our home completely rehabbed with gravel, new
insulation, and a vapor barrier. After this work was completed, they
repaired the foundation and sistered the floor joists. Finally, we had
them install a french drain going down the length of the front of the
house and into both sides of the backyard to direct the water away from
our foundation and prevent future damage. **These were all major
repairs that were present when we bought our home due to neighborhood
storm water management issues.
