KOLB ELECTRIC

Do not use this company. They will rip you off. The contract was for eight 300W LED 40 ft pole lights, but I caught them redhanded installing 240W. Who does that? Then, they broke my lock and broke into my sprinkler room which I saw on my video which they admitted. Then, Kolb sued me for not paying the bill which I disputed due to lost tools as result of the break-in. Who does that breaking into a customer's sprinkler room and not informing that they did. I had to catch them on my video. Not only that it took over one year to the work proposed work. TOTAL FRAUD. I will be going to court....

Second time we've used Kolb Electric, and went well both times. During this visit, the electrician installed two new ceiling fans with lights, one new bathroom light fixture, and installed a new bathroom light switch. Electrician was efficient, neat, and everything went well. Would hire again.

Carlos was extremely careful in full PPE. Couldn't have been more professional or a nicer person. We would definitely hire Kolb Electric for any type of electrical needs.

Kolb Electric did a great job. The guy came in and within a matter of minutes he corrected the issue; he also troubleshooted a breaker issue I was having and did a basic electrical panel check. Great job!

Technician arrived, checked chirping smoke detector and kitchen lights. Went to nearby Home Depot and purchased supplies.Replaced batteries (at least I hope, he did not leave behind old ones) but did not test the smoke detectors after replacing batteries. Tried to replace 4 LED tubes in the kitchen. Two of the supposedly new LED he just purchased did not turn on when tested. He said the bypass needed to be replaced. Made second trip to purchase one. After replacing the bypass, the new LED still did not work. He replaced the two old ones and said he wont charge me for those. Made a bill (highly overpriced). I had agreed to the hourly rate so I couldn't complain about that, it was the cost of 6 D batteries, two LED tubes and bypass that I found atrocious. He also tried to charge for an additional 1/2 hour which I was able to get dropped after talking to the Alexandria Office. He refused to show the Home Depot receipt and the office said he could charge what he pleases and did not need to show the receipt. After multiple calls and emails I finally received the bill that I had been charged and paid on the day service was delivered after 8 days. No breakdown on expenses. I paid $132 for 6 D batteries, two LED tubes and bypass. Will never hire them again!

Quality was good, excellent. It's been positive. The electrician knew what he was doing and took pride in his work.

Kolb called within reasonable time to schedule the appointment for that same week. Electrician showed up within given time frame and was professional and efficient. He replaced the two exterior lights (did a great job) but advised he could only replace the ceiling fan, not repair the wobbliness of it. To begin with, I wasn't sure from the start if that project was meant more for a handyman or an electrician, so if we decide to replace then I will contact Kolb.

Kolb was great. Person who responded to our call identified problem and gave solid info about potential cost (and need to cut into the wall). The techs who did the install were careful and worked diligently. They took care of the work site (living room) and had us back in safe operational mode within 4 hours.

Not well at all. The electrician that came took 3 hours to determine the line coming into the panel box was loose and not secure. He charged us $750.25 for this. The next day we called another electrician who came and said things were still not secure in the box. We do not think an electrician needs 3 hours to determine a line is lose in the panel box. On top of that it still was not secured safely. The next electrician spent a half hour at most seeing the problem and fixing it. Would not recommend this company for any work because of quality of their work and the cost.

Tech. arrived on time and work was completed on time at a fair price

I called them to come do an estimate on rewiring a house. They arrived on time even though they did not give me a 30 minute notice like they said they would.

After we went over the work scope Chris said he would have an estimate for me the next day. On that day (Friday) he sent me an email saying that he was going to hold off on the estimate because they are only valid for 15 days. I do not understand where he picked up in our conversation that we are not ready to get this work done. I responded to him that no we are doing this in the next two weeks. Never heard anything back from him on that day. On Monday I proceeded to email him again he said the same thing about estimates only good for 15 days and I said I wanted to do this now. He then could not even remember who he was talking with because he wanted to know the address that I was at.

After several hours of no response I emailed him again and now he says we will only do the job as time plus materials @ 117 and hour plus a helper maybe and it might take 3 weeks or more. Some estimate stay away from this company they are unorganized and know nothing on how to properly estimate a job.

Mr. Friday (the electrician) showed up promptly for my 7:30 AM appt. He wired the heating cables to outdoor junction boxes. Then added a new dedicated 20A circuit breaker and wired the junction boxes to the circuit breaker. He also replaced a bad light bulb socket in my basement ceiling and replaced a bad light switch in my basement.
Everything was done right the first time. The heating cables were warm (while it was cold outside (which is what they are supposed to do). With the dedicated circuit breaker, I can shut them off, if there's no chance of frozen precipitation within 24 hours. 
My lights and switches all work correctly (in the basement) for the first time in a long time.

We've had them out many times. They're outstanding, and they're really prompt.

I called Kolb Electric because the GFCI in the garage kept switching off and leaving the freezer and refrigerator in the garage without cooling capability.  It kept happening over the weekend so we had to plug in the refrigerator in the house through an extension cord and totally emptied the freezer and did not use it.

The electrician from Kolb came and tested our GFCI found it to be working properly and installed another circuit in the garage so that we could use both appliances safely.  He was prompt and came right on time.  He finished up the job professionally and efficiently.  I was very pleased and will call them again any time we need electrical work!

I think they charged a fair price. They did a good job. Everything went well.

Gentleman performing work was extremely nice and professional.  Answered all of my questions and showed me how / why the wiring was incorrect previously (and the breakers kept tripping).  Fixed multiple outlets while onsite in short period of time and was extremely reasonable on pricing/estimates.

I spent $200. The person who came out was quite knowledgeable on all the codes and everything an what needed to be attached. They came out attached the device and put in the power lines. It worked out very well.

I contacted Kolb Electric on Monday afternoon (September 29th), and set-up an appointment an appointment for Wednesday morning (1 October). I was given a window of 8:00 - 12:00 and was called by Kolb at 7:40 to ensure their services were still needed and that an 8:00 show-time was good for us. The technician - Ross - arrived promptly at 8:00 and set about diagnosing the problem. Due the complexity (Read: poor design) of the faulty circuit in our 50-year-old home, the diagnosis was the longest part of the visit. Once he isolated the bad-outlet, he replaced it, put all other outlets and faceplates back, put the cover back on the breaker box and was done. All told, Ross was in the house less than two-hours and all lights/outlets on the circuit work once again.

Kolb was fantastic to work with. Called after hours as it was an emergency issue and they were onsite promptly. I was traveling and was able to coordinate significant repairs with them while out of town. Rates were competitive and customer service was top-notch.

Technician was prompt and courteous and went above and beyond in fixing these problems.

They do a great job and I always go back to them. I am able to talk to an actual electrician on the phone, describe my problem to him and I get an estimate over the phone without having to pay someone just to come and knock on my door. They show up when they say they are going to show up.
