James gave us a reasonable estimate and time schedule. The work began pretty well. Then we started getting word from the subcontractors that they weren't getting paid. James admitted he had not ordered materials he claimed he had, despite cashing our checks. All work stopped about 60% of the way through the project. James stopped returning our phone calls or emails, and stopped showing up to work. Ultimately, we fired James and replaced him.
