Steve Lord is the owner of HTL Contractors. Steve is a stand up, professional guy and a lifelong resident of Alexandria. Steve is punctual and answers emails, phone calls, and texts in a timely manner. Steve is also detail oriented and thorough. We had 3 bathrooms gutted down to the studs and absolutely everything was replaced. Our master bath was expanded, all plumbing was relocated, custom cabinets were built, and a window was added in the side of the house where the new bathroom is located. Steve and his crew did an absolutely fantastic job. Steve is a carpenter, and a d*** good one. The cabinet that he and his son, Tyler built in our bathroom looks beautiful. All of HTL's sub contracted work was done by equally professional and competent craftsman. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the work and our experience working with Steve and his crew.

I consulted with three other construction companies before choosing HTL Contractors. Steve Lord (owner) was prompt to visit and gave a rough estimate of time frames and repair costs. Once the insurance claim was settled and we were approved to move forward, work began promptly and proceeded as scheduled. Steve works on a cost-plus basis, which worked out very well for my project. He's a hands-on contractor, working on-site along with his crew.
Steve provided excellent advice regarding different aspects of the project. Plus, he was flexible when I was indecisive or wanted something to be changed. He coordinated with an architect and engineer to prepare the proper drawings and managed permitting and inspections. His subcontractors were all top-notch and work was well managed.
Trusses were repaired and strengthened in half the house, roof was repaired and replaced, electrical was updated and new lighting installed, bathroom plumbing was removed and replaced, two bathrooms were installed from scratch, plus dry-walling, window replacement, and more.
Kudos to Steve Lord and all of the subs. Work was well done. I love the improvements!
