The plumbers showed up at the end of the two hour window but their office called to let us know they were running late due to an earlier job. Once at the house, they assessed the situation and quickly replaced the water pressure regulator and main-shut off valve. They then began working on replacing the washer in the other shut-off valve. They ran into some difficulty getting the nut off the valve to replace the washer. It was tightly torqued on the valve and they had little room to work. Washer was replaced though after they left, I noticed some water leaking around the nut they had taken off. A day later I informed their office and they promptly came out to fix the situation. No additional cost. Both plumbers were courteous and efficient. They also provided some advise on other minor plumbing issues I want to get addressed in the future. Their main office was great at customer service and keeping us informed. I plan to use them in the future for replacing the kitchen sink and organizing the pluming underneath the sink.

Bruce, who I believe is the owner, came to check what I believed to be a leak in a wall in the garage. I was concerned that it may be a leak from a line coming in from the street. I showed him an issue we had with a leak in our bathroom, he fixed that and then checked the system for a leak anywhere else. I was grateful that he did not try to take advantage by making me believe we had a bigger problem. Will definitely hire again.

Hollin Hall Plumbing has saved our bacon on multiple occasions. They are prompt and do a great job. Their most memorable help came a few years ago when we had a disastrous clog in our line, backing up water in our kitchen sink and causing a leak indoors, the evening before Thanksgiving. Bruce and his helper came out that same evening and saved Thanksgiving for us--literally. We've used them other times as well and have always been pleased with their work. Recently, I made an appointment for Bruce to come out and consult on a couple of trouble areas, and provide advice on installing a one-way valve in a floor drain. While he was out, Bruce put the valve in himself, and didn't even charge us. Great company. Highly recommend.

I had spent much time online trying to find a replacement to no avail. They came and ran into the same problem, but they were able to flip the seal to make it last a while longer. Not their fault that the toilet design is so unusual. They were professional, friendly, clean, efficient. Would definitely hire them again.

Everything went very well from the start of the job to its finish. The plumbers arrived right on time, completed the drain work efficiently, and at a very reasonable cost. We had a few questions and all were answered. Our overall experience with Hollin Hall Plumbing was excellent. We will use their services again and recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

An easy fix but have reached the age where I don't want to squeeze under sinks and do plumbing. |Setting appointment was easy. On day of appointment, office called and wanted to know if they could come early. That was convenient and plumbers (2) arrived shortly after the call. Both polite and didn't dilly dally with the work at hand. They replaced the tightening nuts and one section of pipe with no suggestions of any further repairs needed. |This was a simple job and they performed it professionally. Work and service were satisfactory enough to try again with other needed repairs.

Plumber (Bruce) arrived within two hour appointment window, quickly diagnosed issue, and made repairs. Fair price, courteous and professional ? all around positive experience. Would definitely use again.

I called for help with a frozen pipe in an area that I can't access. I was told I would need someone who could cut a hole in my ceiling and that they can't do anything until it freezes.

It was our first service from Hollin Hall Plumbing, based upon our neighborhood listservs recommendations and Angie's List reviews. Arrival window was 9:30-11a, and we had icy snow-covered roads from an overnight storm, so were surprised when plumber showed up at just before 10. As I've heard, first thing he did (after introductions and handing me a business card) was take off his shoes at our entrance, then asked me to show him around, what needed to be done. All work was completed in under 1 hour. Plumber was personable, tidy, informative about the work that was being done, shared future expectations (taking care of faucets), and answered all questions without "doublespeak." He said he replaced our Moen faucet parts with the same brand, rather than aftermarket ones, which he said a previous repair used. To our advantage, he had worked in our neighborhood and was familiar with some of the issues with the 65 y.o. homes. If there is any criticism--and it is very tiny--would have been nice to have a heads-up call when he was on the way. Definitely will use HH again!

I couldn't be happier with my experience with these guys, they came right on time, we're very polite, fixed everything in record time and all for less than I was expecting to spend. I will use them every time I need a plumber.

They arrived within the schedule time frame and were courteous when the arrived. I immediately showed them the section of pipe where the leak was occurring in order to expedite the process. Within 5 minutes they said, it looked bad and the floor would have to be jackhammered open and the cabinets would have to be removed and it was a big job. But they would see what they could to "jerry rig" it to get it to work for now. They pulled out some saws and started cutting into the pipe to pull out the section where the leak was happening. All was going well and fast. Then they said they needed to get some parts from the hardware store down the street and would be right back. I was really surprised at this because you would think either they would 1) have all the supplies they need in their van or 2) go off the clock to get the parts they need. They were out for about 15 minutes. They came back and both of them were going back and forth on what was the best way to get this fixed. They started hacking away a bigger piece of the pipe and after about another 20 minutes they needed to step out again. Again they were out for about 15 minutes and again this was "on the clock". They came back and fumbled around a bit more and finally put everything in place. The pipe connects to 3 separate pipes and previously all the connections were threaded. Now only one of the connections is threaded and the other two are using some rubber connector over the pipe. They informed me this was not the best fix but it will last a long time. I believe them and also appreciate their effort. My main complaint is that why was I charged 2 hours when they really only worked 1 hour and 15 minutes? I asked one of the guys this question when he presented me the bill. He said because the parts were specific to my job and they didn't have the parts and they only went out to get the parts for this specific job, I needed to pay for that time! LOL... whatever. I paid the bill because I'm not going to waste my time arguing with them about $100. I just won't use them for the $3000 job that i have to get done soon. I want to move and replace my water heater with a tankless water heater. I hope anyone who uses them, will ask their hourly rate ahead of time, and make sure they are not charged when the employees go out to get parts! LOL...

This company was wonderful! They were on time and courteous, and worked diligently until the project was complete. They stuck to the original quoted price, which was significantly lower than several other companies I had contacted for a quote. They had originally brought a 50-gallon water heater at my request (I figured we needed a new one anyhow, might as well upgrade to a larger unit). When it was too large for the space, they were able to return the next day with a 40-gallon and install it. They did not charge us anything for the original visit when the heater would not fit. They also patiently answered all of my questions, which was very reassuring. I originally chose Hollin Hall Plumbing for three reasons: 1, they offered the best price, 2, they were local, and 3, they would be able to complete the work promptly. I could not be more pleased with my choice!!! I will absolutely be using Hollin Hall for every plumbing need we experience in the future. I enthusiastically recommend them to anyone in the area with a plumbing need.

They replaced the bathroom sink hardware and they also replaced the kitchen sink trap which was leaking. At their recommendation I purchaced separately the required bathroom hardware for them to install. Their service was excellent. From my initial contact with their ofice to the completion of their work I was completely satisfied. I have been using their services for several years and I highly recommend them.

It went well, the actual plumber was very nice and WAS professional and figured out the problem. It wasn't our plumbing, but a crack in the grout in the shower above the water spot that was leaking into the wall and causing water damage. He did a few "diagnostic" procedures to determine and suggested us getting a professional tile company to come out and re-grout and seal the areas. He was great. The only reason for my low mark on professionalism and in other areas were for the following reasons: 1) the receptionist when I called to schedule was very rude and almost condescending....suggesting that we just patch it up ourselves and hope that was the problem....and almost sounding annoyed that I still wanted to have a plumber come out to make sure that it wasn't a pipe leak. Even though it was a grout issue, the plumber said that we really needed to have it professionally fixed (not by their company, but by a grout company...so there was no financial incentive for him to say that) which totally contradicted her suggestion on the phone. 2) the price was higher than I thought it should have been for what was accomplished.

They were prompt, clean and they didn't seem to overcharge me. It was cheaper than I expected.

Problem: Dangerously hot water mixing to cold water tap. Solution: Mr. Storey is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. He was able to trouble shoot the issue using Angie's List messaging almost immediately, allowing me to have the right part on site prior to his visit. He arrived on schedule, replaced the part, verified the fix, and answered all of my questions all within just a few minutes. Problem solved, it was as easy as that. I highly recommend Hollin Hall Plumbing, and will hire again in a heartbeat.

These guys were the best. They came out, immediately removed their shoes, and after a short description of the bad smell in our bathroom, they immediately set about diagnosing a bad wax ring. It took them about a half hour to remove toilet, remove bad ring and replace the new one, replace the toilet and clean everything up. Many places have a flat fee for their work no matter how long they take, these guys charge by the half hour, which I appreciated. They were extremely knowledgeable, efficient and professional, and I would not hesitate to call them again for any other plumbing problem!

Our ceiling developed a leak. Bruce came the day I called and quickly diagnosed the upstairs toilet was leaking. He pulled the toilet, resealed, fixed another issue with the flapper and was done quickly.

They called ahead to note that they could arrive early if I would prefer. Two gentlemen arrived promptly. They were an efficient team. The work was completed satisfactorily within an hour. They were neat and courteous.

Hollin Hall plumbers arrived within the agreed upon time frame, worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up the work areas in each bathroom. They charged what they said they would when I arranged for the service. I selected them because of their ratings in Checkbook Magazine and am completely satisfied with their work.

The plumber could not remove the faucet valve stem either, so he had to replace the entire faucet. The copper water feed line barely protruded through the brick wall, but the plumber was skilled enough to replace the faucet without any additional pipe replacement. The plumber was skilled and courteous. I thought the price was reasonable for the work done. I'll call Hollin Hall Plumbing again.
