They were fantastic. They are very courteous and professional. They always come when they say they are going to come. I would recommend them and continue to use them.

Bruce was extremely flexible and able to work with our schedule as we were dealing with demolition and then framing issues on the new space. He was always on time and on budget, very professional and easy to deal with. Bruce and his wife Lindsay were both very responsive to any phone calls or emails that we sent with questions during the process. My husband and I both work full time jobs in DC and it was very hard for us to take off work to be there all day for contractors during this process. With Bruce we were comfortable enough to leave a side door open so we didn't have to come home and "babysit". We love our new bathroom and the toilet that Bruce recommended has become the favorite seat in the house!

Bruce immediately gave us sound advice regarding the kitchen sink, in that the complete fix included lowering the output drain pipe to reduce the water pressure on the outtake pipes from the sink. I already knew this but it was nice to have it confirmed. Everything was fixed quickly and professionally. What ever possessed me to try to do this stuff myself? One side note, Bruce felt the temperature of our cold water and did a complete home test to determine that our cold water was about 15 degrees warmer than it should be. He surmised that there was work in the area, whereby the county has water pipes in the neighborhood exposed to the sun, thereby heating the water up to higher temps. Sure enough, this was the case. It had no real bearing on our problems but I thought it very interesting that he had a great ability to ascertain something about our water supply through feel, then confirming it with a thermostat. Overall it was a great experience and I would hire them again and will definitely refer them to friends and neighbors. Regarding the price: I thought their price was consistent with going rates.

They showed up on time and did everything they were supposed to.

The company was very responsive to my call for help. This was really important to me since I had had water in my basement, the pump didn't seem to be working, and more thunderstorms were predicted. The plumber that came to do the service was Bruce. He was very friendly, competent and extremely helpful. He performed the work quickly and then helped me in contacting the manufacturer of the pumps that were not working. In conversation afterward about my house I mentioned the crawl space and he said "Oh I just spent the morning in a crawl space. I was so dirty that I took a shower before I came to this job." I couldn't believe that the plumber had cleaned up so that he would be presentable for my job! Great company! Great attitude.

We called them. It's a neighborhood organization. One of the owners came down and checked everything. He gave us the estimate and came in and did the work for about that estimate. He was a very pleasant person.

Lindsey was very helpful on the phone and said someone could be out within 2 hrs and they were. The toilet was repaired for $140 ($40 parts; $100 labor). Very reasonable. The previous company we called came out, looked at the toilet and said it was too old and needed to be replaced and charged us $90 just to tell us that without looking at what could be wrong. I wanted someone to make repairs.

First time they sent out 2 younger guys that didn't really know what they were doing and weren't very efficient. The third time the owner himself came out and he was very competent and efficient and got the work done for me. First experience was bad but when Bruce came out he really made me feel better about the job.

First of all (and they have my undying loyalty for this!), on Oct 8, 2007, I had a central water shutoff valve that broke and leaked about three hours before I was to catch a plane at Reagan Airport (panic!). Lindsay was able to get Bruce to my house within 40 minutes and he replaced the pipe and valve with a newer, sturdier one in 30 minutes (our hero!). We made our flight and our home was safe with no damage and to top it all off, Bruce accepted responsibility for the faulty valve and did not charge for this repair even though I argued strenuously that we did not hold him liable in the least!!! The current repairs that I am reporting were done on January 31, 2008, and were completed promptly, quickly, correctly, efficiently, and cleanly, as usual.

Hollin Hall Plumbing is a tiny firm composed of the owner and a small crew. They were the best and most professional plumbers I've ever worked with. They did an excellent job. They always showed up exactly on time and were extremely thorough. After performing the work, they tested all the fixtures to make sure everything worked properly. Hollin Hall's prices are not cheap. The cost of $2600 covered labor only and some small parts. (I ordered all the fixtures from a home improvement store). However, Hollin Hall's prices were either competitive with -- or cheaper than -- two other plumbing companies from whom I received bids.

Excellent. The plumbers were quick, efficient and knowledgeable. One leak was located right away and fixed. The ball valve lever was installed with no problem. The three of us determined at the end of the visit that there was not a second drip and waited a reasonable amount of time to check that out. The first visit was $211.00. The floor drain needed more research and was a low priority for me. After a few days the second hair line leak accumulated enough for the need of a second visit ($92.00). The plumbers quickly repaired the elbow. All went well.

Geeter and assistant appeared at the scheduled time, completed the work thoroughly and expeditiously. Because of my not furnishing a complete description of the leak problem (a portion occurred only while using the dishwasher), the leak was still there the next day. One phone call and ten minutes later Geeter and his assistant were on scene and made the final fix. No charge, no leak, no problems. Good job.

HH Plumbing was available quickly (called Thursday, they did the job on Tuesday). Over the phone, Lindsey (sp.) gave an estimate of 1.5-2 hours for the job and gave suggestions for fixture sets to buy in advance, which was appreciated. The job was done well overall, and everything looks good. Minor complaints: Although estimated at 2 hours, I was billed for 2.5 hours, plus $50 worth of parts. Not a huge deal, but it's something worth noting. I bought a different shower head to be installed, because the one that came with the American Standard set was not exactly what I wanted. However, the plumber installed the American Standard one anyway, because (as he wrote on the statement) the other shower head was broken out of the package. I have no way of verifying if that is true or not, but again, worth noting. The plumber left dust on the floor near the access panel that would have taken 10 seconds to wipe up with a wet cloth (that's what it took me).

They showed up right when they said they would. In fact they were supposed to come on Tuesday, but we needed the vanity removed before Tuesday morning, they worked with us to get the work completed on Monday which will allow us to have hardwood floors installed in the bathroom tomorrow with no issues. The work was performed quickly. We are first time homeowners, and had many questions about the new vanity. All questions were happily explained and answered. We will DEFINITELY be calling Hollin Hall Plumbing to install the new vanity in the bathroom.

They were honest. Instead of spending $350 or more, I paid $155. He was prompt, in fact, early. He explained everything he was doing. Gave me advice on some other things. I had him do an estimate on replacing the vanity as well. Estimate is extremely reasonable. He did an additional repair under the sink as well at no cost. Everything was so great, I wish there was an A+ available to give him in all categories (I used to teach English)!

The plumber cited the vanities as "extra work" because "they did not need to be removed to replace the tubs." The bathrooms are small and some 20 sq. ft. of drywall behind where one of the vanities stood was smashed to get the tub in, with lesser damage in the other bathroom. The carpet leading to the bathrooms was deeply stained with mud and wet leaf debris. Quite evidently, the plumber did not want to return to this mess, hence his ridiculous $80 refund for two uninstalled toilets. The house is vacant and I do not live there. I foolishly paid him before reviewing his work, in good part because of 17 straight-A ratings, and 8 POH Nominations on Angie's List!

Bruce does excellent work, is timely and professional. In our job we tore out a single vanity and replaced it with a double sink vanity and installed a new toilet. When the new vanity arrived it was not constructed correctly and the big burly deliverymen were unable to set the granite top (with undermount sinks already attached). Once we corrected the vanity there was no possible way my husband and I could lift the top into place. Although Bruce was scheduled to come to make the final hook-up I called to tell them we were not ready since the top was not in place. Not only did Bruce arrive at the scheduled time but he helped lift it into place and then even carved out some of the drywall to make a perfect fit. He clearly went above and beyond the call of duty. We have used him several times since and would highly recommend them.

Provided next day service on the installation of the water heater. Arrived on time. Completed the installation in a timely manner and the work was performed to all my expectations. Had previously called Hollin Hall about an accumulation of water in a ceiling. We could not find the source so they did not charge me.

I was having problems with my hot water tank and the plumber came out and found the problem very quickly and fixed it. He was on time, kept his work area very clean and did a wonderful job. If I need a plumber, I know where to go.

We have used Hollin Hall Plumbing for a while now. They do all of our odds and ends work as far as plumbing is concerned. They do high quality work and we have nothing but good things to say about them. We would recommend them to others looking for a reliable plumber in our area.

Lindsay was very kind and patient with scheduling and very good about returning calls when necessary. At my request, Bruce came to survey the list of items we needed addressed and came back promptly at the next scheduled appointment time. I was very doubtful when I was told he would only need about 2-3 hours to complete all tasks but he finished within that time frame and also tended to some smaller items that were discovered. He was very quick and efficient and does exceptional work. He was very mindful of letting me know what he was doing and what he had found and was very good about offering suggestions to make the job much more than satisfactory. It is often very difficult to find an excellent doctor, auto mechanic or plumber, but today we can scratch "plumber" off the list. I will only use Bruce, Lindsay and Hollin Hall Plumbing in the future!

Last winter I found Hollin Hall Plumbing on Angie's List. We were very impressed by the plumber, Geter, who showed up on time to do the job, which was replacing two faucets in our bathroom. Geter was courteous, professional, competent and efficient; the last two characteristics are especially prized when you are paying by the hour. When we needed a plumber to take care of our flushing and kitchen sink problems, we did not hesitate to call Hollin Hall Plumbing again. We agreed on an appointment time. When no one showed up, I left a voice message asking when I could expect someone. To shorten this story, I got a call from Lindsey Storey who apologized for the mixup; she had the appointment recorded for the next day. Shortly thereafter, Bruce Storey arrived and did the job. He then refused payment, saying that he and his wife felt that my time was a valuable as his and they wanted to make up for it. I was astounded and deeply grateful. An outstanding example of customer care.

WOW! As a small business owner, I try my best to support the small business owner. Unfortunately, we live in a society that has been overrun by the Mega (too big to care) service providers. Then there is Bruce Storey of Hollin Hall Plumbing, a local small business. I called that night and spoke to a wonderful person. To my surprise, she told me that someone can come out the next day and asked what time could someone call me the next day. I told her anytime after 8:00 AM. I got a call the next day around 9:00 AM. I was told that Bruce was in Del Ray and can be at my house in a couple of hours. Well at 11:00 AM, Bruce knocked on my door. I showed him the situation and also asked him to repair a leak in the upstairs bathtub drain that periodically leaked down through my kitchen ceiling. Bruce went to work and fixed everything at half the price that the other sub-par-mega plumber charged several years ago. Great service at more than fair price. No mess!

It went very well. The woman who scheduled our work was very professional and nice. She would have sent someone right away but I wasn't able to be home that soon, so she was able to schedule something for the next day. Bruce was very professional and nice. He took one look at the drip and within in 2 minutes he was packing up! I asked if he was done and he said yes, he just needed to tighten a nut...no charge! As new homeowners we really just didn't know where to go for plumbing or much of what we are doing when it comes to plumbing. I will call Hollin Hall Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs because of Bruce and the high rating on Angie's List, plus, it's good to help out a neighborhood business.

He came out quickly, within the time frame he indicated. He solved the unknown problem easily, was very professional and I now have no leaks in the ceiling.
