Hollin Hall Plumbing

Two plumbers made the house call -- one worked on the kitchen sink problem and the other on the toilet. They were very efficient and fixed both problems simultaneously. The two plumbers didn't waste any time and were done in an hour. They cleared the blockage over 30 feet from the kitchen drain and replaced the wax seal under the toilet. They were careful about protecting the areas around the kitchen sink and toilet from damage during the repair work and cleaned up each area very well before leaving. Hollin Hall is probably no more expensive than other plumbing companies, but it is still a lot of money for an hour's work. The person that answered the phone at the company was very polite and helpful, as were the two plumbers. This is the second time in 2011 that we used this company. The first time was to replace a broken water pressure valve on the incoming water line to the house. The plumbers were efficient and friendly then too, with no time wasted.

I didn't have anything to compare their price to. The quality of their work was good. It was a holiday weekend and they don't work emergencies. They only work Monday through Friday. After I left a message, they called back promptly the following work day which was over the weekend. They were on time when they finally set an appointment with me. Their professionalism was good. I have used them 4 times already.

They were extremely easy to work with and professional. After a week of nonstop rain, we woke up to our sump pump humming, but not pumping. We called first thing in the morning and they said they could come check it out the same day, giving us a window of 11:00-1:00. They arrived right at 11:00, looked at the pump and realized that it needed to be replaced, which they then did within 30 minutes. They were very courteous and took care to avoid getting water on the carpeted section of our basement. The new pump seems to be working fine and the replacement cost was in line with our expectations. Overall, they were a pleasure to work with. We will definitely use them for any other plumbing issues we may have in the future.

This problem happend over Thanksgiving weekend. I called Sunday evening to leave a message about the problem. I spoke to the office first thing Monday morning and Bruce was at my house around 9 am. He was very professionally and thorough. I felt very confident about the quality of his work. He answered all of my questions about this problem and several minor plumbing issues in my home. I look forward to hiring this firm for my future plumbing work.

The technician, Bruce, was prompt and tidy. However, the next day, my disposal stopped working and my sink wouldn't drain. I called Hollin Hall, but the voice recording stated that the office was closed for Thanksgiving through Monday, November 28. The voice recording left no number for customers to call with emergencies. So, Hollin Hall expects there to be no plumbing emergencies for its customers on holidays, or, if there are, they expect their customers to call another plumber. Luckily, I was able to fix my plumbing problem myself, but I was quite surprised that no contingencies are made for customer emergencies.

Hollin Hall plumbing has come to my home and rental property numerous times over the years and I am always happy with their work. They are professional, reasonably priced, and do great work. I recommend them to everyone I know who needs a plumber too. My neighbors use them too and they agree.

They were prompt and polite. Worked well as a team to get the small job done quickly. Billed for 45 minutes noting the time in at 8:56 and time out at 9:32. The time out included the time to write up the bill and the time in seemed like when they pulled up. First half hour is $100, then billing at 15 minute intervals at $45. Parts cost seemed a bit high. Double shutoff valve which is really a single was $32. Ice maker supply $20. They did what I needed them to and everything seems to be working well. If I used them again I would have them confirm the time in when they arrive and out. I suspect all plumbers in the area do the same thing with time and parts. For a more complicated job I will likely shop around for a quote; time and materials is never a good arrangement for the customer.

Plumbers and contractors of all kinds were high in demand after Hurricane Irene. Hollin Hall responded quickl and inspected by basement for plumbing damage. They could not identify any plumbling problems -- which in itself is remarkable. There is ALWAYS a problem when you call a contractor. Hollin Hall carefully inspected and found none. Though the mystery of problem water in my basement remains, I was impressed by the promptness and professionalism of Hollin Hall even though there were no repairs. I will use them again. Oh, and they gave me a 10% Angie's List discount.

Great experience. I called Hollin Hall Plumbing regarding a broken shower handle; they called me back 10 minutes later to say that they could be right over. Within 30 minutes of my first phone call, Bruce was at my door. He replaced the shower handle with a nicer one, in about five minutes. He also unclogged a sink drain and showed me how to do it myself in the future. Super-professional and courteous. I'd definitely use them again.

Bruce arrived at the stated time, quickly and efficiently assessed the situation, replaced the toilet seal and bolts, snaked the line (I hadn't realized it was a problem) and was finished in 45 minutes. I was especially impressed with his care to keep the house clean, his ethics (he looked at another toilet and had the opportunity to jack up his fee with an unnecessary job but instead he assured me that my concern was unfounded and explained why), and his proactive observations (the snaking and he picked up on an exterior problem we have with the sprinkler system). As good an experience as I could have. I don't know much about plumbing fees, but I know I was charged $155 by another plumber who came out about that other toilet and only ran a bead of caulk around it for the price.

I couldn't have been more pleased. The contractor was prompt, professional, and delivered expert work in a complex situation. Thank you, Hollin Hall Plumbing, I will definitely call you for my future plumbing needs!

Emailed 3 companies after researching here on Angie's List. While all 3 had excellent reports, went with Hollin Hall due to the overall cost seemed to be lower. Lindsay emailed me a rough estimate and I called her to setup the visit. They showed up early before we could get the area under the sink empty and cleaned but they helped with removing everything! 45 minutes later, new garbage disposal and kitchen faucet that we supplied were installed. I will call these guys EVERYTIME!!!! Now I have to look for an electrician as there is some sort of electrical issue, disposal wont run! Turns out the disposal was not installed properly, per the electrician. The sheathing was not under the connector and bare wire and metal touched, thus creating a short. Needless to say, the disposal is now working perfectly. I am working with Hollin Hall to remedy the issue. Bruce from Hollin Hall is a true professional. Very quick response to our issue and is taking care of the problem. I will use Hollin Hall in the future for any plumbing issues we may have.

Absolutely terrific service, advice, friendliness, and professionalism. I called on Tuesday and made the appt for Thursday. Bruce called one hour prior to the schedulled time to ask if he can arrive early. We agreed and he arrived right when he stated. We spoke for about 20 minutes on a couple estimates - he recommended one course of action that actually was to not spend money and worked out and even better idea that my original intent. Bruce walked me thru the work, conducted it, and showed me what he did. The costs of the parts was minimal but his hourly rate was fair - not too low but one that I did not have too much trouble accepting given his work and professionalism. At the end, Bruce did mention that my toilet still had a small leak that might require the replacement of the entire toilet (ouch) but he stated that if I did want to take that leap, he would apply his labor cost from this repair to the next - a big offer in my opinion. Overall, it was a cost I wish I didn't have to pay but an experience that was a painless as the situation would allow. I place a very high emphasis on professionalism and fairness and Bruce truly exceeded my expectations. Will definitely keep his name in the 'use again' file.

Found Hollin Hall on Angie's List and gave them a call. Made an appointment within the week and given a time frame of when to expect the plumber - between 9-11am. Pleasently surprised when they arrived at 9:00am. They quickly assessed where the water leak was coming from in the bathroom, and though it wasn't anything they could correct (the leak wasn't due to plumbing) they asked if there was anything else we wanted them to look into. I appreciated that they were aware of and considerate enough to offer seeing as how the charge for the visit would remain the same despite whether they were able to fix the problem or not. So since they couldn't fix the "water leak", they did fix the running toilet.....and for that, we thank them!

I called them in the Morning, and they were out that same afternoon. I could not have asked for any faster service. I have used them in the past.... and will use them in the future.

Hallelujah! We have found our plumber. Hollin Hall responded quickly, the repairs were accomplished in no time and with no mess. The serviceman instructed us on doing one repair by ourselves in the future. He also repaired another leak with a washer; another plumber relatively highly rated on Angie's List had estimated several hundred dollars, including cutting into a wall, for repair. Needless to say, we are very happy. And our search for a reliable, trustworthy plumber has ended.

I called Hollin Hall Plumbing since I needed a kitchen sink faucet and soap dispenser installed . Bruce (the plumber sent by Hollin Hall) showed up right on time. When he showed up, even though I had indicated the management of the condominum that I live to cut off the water at 9 00 am, they did not do it on time. Bruce had to wait more than 30 minutes for all the water to drain from the pipes. On the meantime he uninstalled the parts of the old faucet he could uninstall with the water still running and installed the parts he could ( he did not loose any time) install with the water still running.. Finally when the water was totally cut off, he replaced the shut off valve and finished his job in less than an hour. I was very impressed with his expertise, professionalism and courteousness. He removed the old parts and faucet and disposed of them for me. I am super pleased with the job he did and definitely recommend Hollin Hallr

They were great. I would rate them high overall. They were a bit expensive but their quality of work was good and I don’t mind paying a little extra when it comes to plumbing. I would use them again in the future.

I had water damage in my living room ceiling that appeared under my bathtubs, and was getting worse. Hollin Hall was pleasant to deal with over the phone, sent a rep immediately, who wason time, very helpful, diagnosed the problem immediately (poor seals in my upper drain area), and fixed it. He had to go out for 15 min's to buy another part that he didn't alreay have on his truck and didn't charge me for it. My problem was fixed within 2 hours and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely call and use them again - I felt like they were very trustworthy, knowledgeable, respectful of my property and good price for value.

I was very impressed with the timely and professional service I received from Hallin Hall Plumbing. This company provides really outstanding services, they really know what they do and do it really well. They came the same day I requested service. the technician immediately knew what the problem was and solved it in 15 minutes. I was impressed! Thank you!

They were prompt, but rude, and charged $360 for a fairly basic service. We (the property managers) were out of town, and they called to tell us that the drain was clear, but there was a fairly big mess and it smelled. They could not recommend a clean-up service, which was understandable, but once again, rude when we asked. They sent the bill, and when it arrived we were out of town. They called to let us know we had not paid the bill, but were extremely rude to my wife. We paid the bill w/in two weeks of receiving it, and would have paid it over the phone if they had wanted it paid immediately. When they sent us the bill, it said only "Cleared out tampons." Bottom line. This company is quick to respond, but rude, unprofessional, and expensive. I would not recommend them or use them again.

Work went well until we got the bill. When I questioned them charging for the 20 minutes they took to write up the bill, the young man (Geeter?) went ballistic! He was very unprofessional, shouting that he has to charge for all their time. I phoned the boss and she took the time off the bill, but he was still annoyed and stormed out. He also didn't take off the $10 coupon for being an Angies List client, I found out later. Later also we found the toilet had been fixed wrongly and I had to re-position the flusher myself to stop the water flowing constantly into the bowl. After research, I also found the charges for replacement parts were 100 - 150 % higher than the cost at a store. A reasonable hike for supplying parts is of course understandable but not this much. They had taken photos of necessary ceramic washers in order to look for replacements and said they would get back to me but they never did. When I followed up with the owner, she basically said "you don't expect us to follow up on the washers after querying the bill, do you". If they're going to be considered professional , I surely do! We still have a dripping faucet! I would certainly appreciate a follow up Bruce sounds like a more experienced worker and I would like him to look for the washers and come and fix the ongoing problem without a charge.

Got an appointment same day (on a Monday even!) and Bruce did excellent work in a very timely fashion. Even took the old top out to my truck for me and gave me good advice about installing the marble splash blocks. Very reasonable price - would absolutely recommend them and use them again. Smartest check I have written in a long time!

Two-man team showed up within the 2-hour window. Work was completed in less time than estimated. I was only charged for time spent + mat'ls. Work appears high quality. Plumbers were professional and personable in my interaction with them.

Excellent. Best plumbers we have used since we've lived here. Would use again and highly recommend.
