Plumber replaced the interior main shut off valave and the pressure regulator valve 5.) Plumber told me to shut off faucets in basement, first floor and second floor 6.) Plumber test and adjusted the pressure regulator valve to 60 pounds per square inch in conformance with Fairfax County code requirements 7.) Plumber prepared the bill 8.) I paid the plumber with a check because credit cards are not accepted. Total price was $319.00; labor $145.00; parts $184.00; Angies List discount $10.00. The service attributes that were most important to me were responsiveness, and proximity to Kingstowne.

Solving the problems with the water heater actually took two visits, but I preferred that than having them decide to replace everything all at once. The thermal expansion tank was leaking/bubbling and could have exploded causing a huge mess. Replacing the thermal expansion tank cost $217. The hot water temperature was inconsistent. They initially checked on the operation of the water heater thermostats and made adjustments, when that didn't solve the problem they replaced the thermostats, which cost $143. This is a family business. The owner, Bruce, came himself and did the work. I beleive his wife manages the office, and it was her that I talked to and made the appointments with -- they were both awesome! I couldn't believe how quickly they came, and that they were willing to work with me on scheduling an appointment that was convenient for me.

I called Hollin Hall plumbing this morning at 8:00 because the water line to our refrigerator had sprung a leak which we noticed around 11:00 pm last night (Christmas). The lady who took the call was very courteous, and said there was a plumber on his way to our zip code and she would re-route him to our house first, since we had not been able to get the valve turned off, and water had been leaking all night. (pinhole leak, but spraying) Bruce was there within 20 minutes and in less than 1/2 hour had the line fixed. He was very knowledgable and professional, probably the most prompt and best service I have ever had from a plumber. We will definitely use them again, hopefully not for such an emergency!

This went very well. Hallin Hall called to give me a heads up when the plumber was on his way to the house. Bruce from Hollin Hall arrived and quickly assessed what needed to be done with the pipe leak and advised on the quality of other pipe in the basement. The repair was done in no time flat. He also took a look at another repair in the house and provided advice on what needed to be done to get that repair done. He was thorough and took the time to walk through my questions. I would, without a doubt, use Hallin Hall again.

Water heater was not working. Bruce came out and had it working within 5 minutes. Problem was pilot light, but he knew a couple tricks to get it to work. I felt bad that the pilot was all that was wrong. Bruce did tell me that it could be a part going bad, and that if it happened again in the next couple of months, I could call him and he would only charge for the part, not another service call, so that was nice. He was quick and professional, I would recommend him to friends.

Our drain in the basement backed up. We sent an email in the evening and received a phone call the first thing in the morning. We were given a time window of 11-1 and they arrived promptly at 11. After trying for a while to duplicate the problem they determined there was no need to snake the drain so they cleaned up and left. Very professional, personable service.

They actually didn't do the work but still charged for the call.

I called Hollin Hall for an estimate.. Bruce (the owner) came out on 08/13/2012. I asked him what he would regarding tee'ing the water source to to outputs.. He said it's a simple job, no problem, simple cutting the copper tubes and putting new ones in its place.. He also said he could see the pressure reducer was not working correctly just by looking at the position of the valve (which turned out to be false from other estimates I've gotten). He never even got a pressure gauge out to check the pressure... (what a fluke !!) He told me my existing plumbing work looked jacked up and he coudl fix it by putting a new source valve and repiping all the copper tubes better.. He gave me "kind cost" estimate of a few hundred dollars...and he would send me an estimate. I didin't receive one after two weeks, called the office manager (Lindsey) and she said she'd contact him and let him know to send me one. I never got one... Absolutely unprofessional... I would never recommend this company... ever...

My husband and I just bought our townhouse and had moved in just a few weeks before I needed help from Hollin Hall Plumbers. After being without a disposal for many years, I overused our new one, and backed up the sink. Two very nice gentlemen from Hollin Hall came within the time period quoted to me and got to work QUICKLY. They were really nice, polite guys and didn't make me feel like an idiot for misusing the disposal. They replaced the pipe underneath the sink because my attempts to repair the clog myself had revealed the pipe hadn't been installed correctly in the first place. They finished this within 20 minutes and left. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that the basement drain had also overflowed and I immediately called the plumbers back. They were back at my house fixing the problem within 10 minutes. They moved the washer and dryer, fixed the clog, and cleaned up EVERYTHING within 30 minutes! Suffice it to say, we've found our plumbers. They were quick, polite, and effective at a very reasonable price.

They came within a day or two. They got the job done really quick. They pointed out another problem that we had something installed incorrectly before.

One of the bathroom sinks was draining poorly, they removed the clog, repaired the stopper and all was well within a short amount of time. They were professional, left the place clean, and were on-time, well done.

Great. I phoned for assistance, they sent a plumber (I think the owner but I've forgotten his name) within a day and he arrived promptly, was professional, courteous and thorough. He cut right to the chase, didn't waste time and you could tell he knew exactly what he was doing and he even tightened a few other bolts along the way in the bathroom for no additional charge. A great plumbing company, offering very fair rates that I would and have recommended to others with the highest of recommendations.

If you are looking for a plumbing company for life, this is the choice. Had a major leak in my kitchen drain-pipe that runs to the sewer. But I didn't realize it, because it was behind the dry-wall and pooling under the cabinets. I realized something major was wrong when I was about to install a new faucet. As I removed all the cleaning supplies under the faucet, I saw the cabinet floor was moist (soaked really) and I removed the floor of the cabinet. Nightmare, I thought, could it be the sewer pipe running to the street? We shut the kitchen down. Then I called Bruce & left him a message on Saturday, and he got back to us early Monday. He was not only punctual, he was early! And very profession and polite. My wife went to get my dog out of the room, but he said it was O.K., for him to watch! He diagnosed the problem straight away. He got to the leaking pipe by pulling out some cabinet drawers, cutting a small 1 foot square in the dry-wall and made the requisite repairs. Then he re-plumed the all the piping under the faucet. Then he called on some of his crew (all polite and professional as well) and they got on the roof of the house and snaked the drain! Any one else could have hammered us! Do yourself a favor and call Bruce!

They were very fast and very clean. I used them earlier and was happy first time, so I just called them back.

The repair went fine; took 20 minutes. The workers arrived at 12:15 p.m . and finished at 12:35 p.m.

Bruce arrived on time as scheduled earlier in the day. He provided several options on installing a new electrical water heater to ensure we enjoyed the same supply of hot water as we did with the previous gas water heater. All were provided objectively, and just like previous service calls, Bruce displayed a great amount of knowledge and experience in the field. I believe Bruce to be very honest and forthright - he has solid integrity and sound character, and I trust his judgment. I had already had electricians come out weeks beforehand to install a power supply for an electrical water heater. Bruce inspected the job site, provided options and departed. After his departure, Lindsay called to discuss options, costs, and scheduling. They had a water heater and work crew available, so we scheduled them the same day. The two-man work crew arrived on time. Both servicemen had worked for Bruce for 5 and 8 years respectively, and had plenty of experience with water heaters. They drained the old water heater, disconnected and removed it, installed the new one, electrically hooked it up, connected the inlet/outlet lines, and tested it all in a short amount of time. They were professional and courteous, and answered all my questions while they performed their work. Cost and time estimates were spot on. I will continue to exclusively use Hollin Hall Plumbing for my water heater and plumbing needs, because they are courteous, punctual, professional, very knowledgeable, and most importantly honest and objective with their work and advice. Above all else I desire integrity in those whom I choose to perform services in my home, and Hollin Hall provides it every time.

They were very accommodating on scheduling the appointment. Showed up right on time, very friendly and professional. Finished capping a gas line quickly, and since the first 30 minutes is a flat rate, offered to take a look at any other plumbing issues with the remaining time at no additional cost.

He was very quick to respond. I called Friday and he had an appointment on Monday morning. The work was done cleanly and beautiful. He were very professional and courteous, even took off his shoes to enter my home.

The guy did more than I asked for and there were no extra charges for what he did. He moved out the gas dryer and prepared everything for the installation of the new gas dryer.

I detected a slight gas oder. I called our gas company and they came out. They too could smell a slight order but had a hard time finding where the leak was but found it at the connector where the gas line came in. The gas company cut off our gas supply and advised me to call a plumber. I searched Angie's List and read the reviews on Hollin Hall Plumbing. I called and they did not have any appointments available today but the lady was concerned about us not having gas for heat, showing or cooking. She told me if anything opened up in the afternoon she would send a plumber to us but if not they would be here in the morning. About 2:30 I received a call that a plumber was on the way. I explained the faint order and showed where the leak was found. Bruce, the plumber, said it may be a split in the connector so the connector would not seal properly and small amounts of gas could leak out. He removed the connector and inspected and finally found where the split was and showed me. He fixed the problem. He was very nice, clean cut and knowledgable. He advised me if the gas company found any problems when they turn the gas on just call and he would be right back to correct the problem.
