He was very professional and since this was the first time for us going through this process he was able to guide us along. He gave us good ideas and even asked for our wish list of items. He was able to incorporate everything that we wanted in our plans for our addition. He was very responsive and we would highly recommend him.

It went great. Gary was 100% architect and part time advice counsler on different options we could look at for our 1962 house. He was very responsive to our needs and new the codes very well.

I gave Gary a list of specifics that we wanted (like room for a double vanity in the bathroom, closet space, etc). He took very detailed measurements of the basement and then made a blueprint of the new space. I really liked what he drew and didn't need any changes made. I liked that Gary listened to what I wanted and drew up the plans in a timely fashion. (I've since given those plans to another contractor who did the actual build-out.)

Drawings of the roof and of the deck were needed to get a Fairfax county permit. Working together, Gary and I quickly came up with designs for the roof and deck. Gary quickly and efficiently modified existing floor plans so contractors could bid on and build the rest of the addition with a minimum of confusion. Designing the rafter - beam - keeper - king post support system for the guest bedroom so that it would be beautiful while adding strength to the structure was challenging and took a few tries. Working together, I feel we came up with a better design than either of us would have arrived at working alone.

I am putting a 1,150 square foot addition on my house. Gary helped me design the addition. I gave him the first plan. He modified my plan and then I modified his plan and we continued that process until we converged on a plan we both liked. Getting to a final plan cost $1,875 and was worth every penny. Then Gary took the final plan and turned it into a detailed document that could be submitted to Fairfax County to get a building permit. The plans are detailed enough that a builder could build from them. Those detailed plans cost $4,500. One builder has commented that they are a good set of plans. The contract has not yet been awarded and the plans have not yet been submitted to Fairfax County.
